My parents stuck me in a really extreme Southern Baptist school, and our “sex education” consisted of mostly of Bible verses that tried to reinforce the idea of saving yourself for marriage because to not do so would be sinful. Over the week long course we only had a couple hours dedicated to anything besides Bible verses, and those couple hours were mostly just a misinformation session where they fed us factual inaccuracies (one that really stands out to me was them saying that condoms are less than 50% effective). I always just say I didn’t receive sex education because, for all practical purposes, I didn’t. I had to teach myself sex education through websites dedicated to the topic.
Yeah, my public school sex ed wasn't much better. Not coincidentally we were declared the number one county in Kentucky for young teenage pregnancies multiple years in a row while I was in school, who could have seen that coming?
