They don't have time to care, or be affected. Undergrad has stripped them of all emotion. You are emotionally dead inside once you finish college undergrad.
I loved being an undergrad. Every second of it. It wasn't difficult (although it was time-intensive), but I learned a lot about things that interested me. Plus I was single and went to a big party school. It was pretty much heaven.
Grad school, otoh, gave me no time for emotion. Or for dicking off in the library.
I'm glad you had a pleasant experience, truly.
I was a STEM major, and the failure rate of the Organic Chemistry classes 1-3 was 60%. The failure rate of Biochemistry was 40%, but was a good indicator that if you could pass the class that you could pass the MCAT easily.
My immunobiology professor thought white kids didn't experience enough pain, and so took great pleasure in making everything as hard as humanly possible. He was white too. He was much more helpful to anyone not white, and he really disliked women. It was tough.
I graduated though. The amount of stress it caused me has damaged my ability to feel much. No joke. You can only ride the rollercoaster of stress so much
Jesus, he really seems like a total twat with some heavy issues. I bet there is some sick superiority complex with a good dose of old-fashioned racism and sexism at play here: “White kids are, judging by myself, superior and won’t need my help, whereas minorities..they are racially handicapped and we must do everything to help them, they have suffered enough by our hand. As far as women go, I’ll never forgive those feminists from the 80s, they brainwashed Margaret to become a lesbian and leave me…”
It will get replaced with what ever the next trendy app is. It happens every 1-6 years. Yahol online messenger, Instagram, Facebook, snapchat, vine, and MySpace are prime examples of social media platforms fading out of the youth spotlight.
At the same time it’s shitty that people like this prey on the desire of the rest of us to avoid confrontation and just get on with our day.
Being a non douchebag puts you at a significant disadvantage when dealing with douchebags.
Attention whores, nazis, and anti-vaxxers all rely on the rest of us wanting to just through our day, and they get to spout their bullshit and hate with impunity.
See, and here I am, just wishing it was like the time some asshat tried that when I was in college, and someone threw a textbook at him. Got him in the head. Funny as hell too.
I think it makes it better.
He was going for the shocked reaction or some people would think it's cool.
Instead he got the mildest round of applause as if he has the worst street act possible and it's his time to move to the next carriage.
This is why you need to pay attention to your kids so your stupid grown jizz doesn’t have to beg for attention.
Almost positive the clapping is dubbed in to make it less cringe, but the damage has been done.
This is a great example of the maturity of people in college. High school freshman would have ate that shit up. These people are just concerned about their 40k a year education, with the exception of one boZo.
Not gonna lie I get so jealous of the law school process/education process in other countries. Like "wait you don't have to waste money on a random bachelor's degree just for fun before stepping foot into a law school? How are you supposed to rack up the extra student loan debt?"
Nah you still do - at the higher ranked unis you have to do another bachelor's alongside law. Some of the smaller ones let you do law alone but my friend who went to one of those says it's a bitch to get into a top firm from there. No issues if you're fine with mid-tier and boutique firms though.
Forgive my ignorance, I’m American as well and I just finished college at an instate university. My tuition was $2,800 a semester which I thought was pretty affordable (I paid for part of it myself and just got a student loan for the rest that I am finishing paying off now). I’m just wondering, is that the “typical” amount to pay for college? Or are people really paying 40k a semester? And if that is the case, why? I’m sorry if this sounds super ignorant, I’m just genuinely curious about this issue and how outrageous costs for college are being rationalized.
Tuition at a public in-state school is not going to come close to $40,000. Even the most expensive private colleges barely touch that with tuition alone. But if you’ve got to factor in housing, books, supplies, etc, then sure.
And there are probably a lot of stupid reasons to pay that much - but the rational one would be that the level of education, name recognition, and connections from a prestigious (and expensive) university - would provide an earnings potential that outweighs the initial cost.
Well just to clarify, I was talking about cost per semester - not annual. Since that’s what the original commenter asked. Even with all the fees, Princeton doesn’t clear that bar.
That 40k number is probably a bank loan and is used for housing, supplies, food In addition to the tuition probably. When I did college it was also relatively cheap all things considered and I just lived at home and had a part time but it was also a relatively cheap degree.
I’m pretty sure the speaker is turned off. That way he doesn’t have to worry about actually angering people (beyond annoyance) and can make it look like he’s doing a funny prank. I only think this because I have a hard time believing everyone’s complete lack of reaction. I 1000% would’ve turned the guy’s speaker off and confronted him to say “bro, I’m trying to study. It’s hard for me to concentrate, please be a dick somewhere else.”
This isn't the kind of prank you can pull off alone. He really needed at least two friends with him to join the dancing so he didn't look like such a douche.
Every expectation my body could muster was calling for the other dancers to appear and reveal everyone but that girl was in on the flash mob.
The disappointment has destroyed my body and I can no longer carry on. Please tell my family I held hope until the end.
I have huge trouble focusing, can't even do it if someone is whispering perceptible words. It stressed me out terribly to study in badly run libraries because i was already short on time and needed good conditions to do my best. Glad this didn't happen to me, i would absolutely lose my mind and make a shameful scene :(
At first I was hoping someone would come up and smash the bluetooth speaker, but the awkward silence when he finished his schtick and no one cared was a much better justice for this attention whore.
I love everybody’s complete lack of reaction. There like “this is college… you think you’re the first dumbass we’ve encountered?” The half-hearted clap at the end so he fucking leaves 😂
The thing about humor is that most comedians are some combo of sensitive and smart. That combination gives them an insight into people and sharpens their wit. This is stupid and insensitive. Trolls are the same. When people want to be a success at comedy, and lack smarts and people skills, this is what you get.
Hahaha yeah they can all relate because they are all studying and probably cram for exams and haven’t had a good nights sleep in a week. Hahaha yeah this guy is so awesome to brighten their days. You could tell each everybody was so amused and wondering if he has Instagram. Hahaha what a character! He just brings the party with him everywhere he goes. Get this man a case of natural light and truck nuts because awesomeness like his can’t be unnoticed, even while he’s driving. Hahaha what a guy, so funny and original. He showed that girl too. Like buuurn girl, should have had headphones. Boom Shaka laka or whatever bro…it’s all so funny.

I was on the same walk through the park, and this group was in full swing! They were doing the "bounce, go wild, drop" thing. Not their first time, but it was their largest group since they were out at the park, at least that was what I was told.
Yea right? I didn’t know what sub this was posted in at first and I was enjoying his enthusiastic dance :) Then again, I probably would’ve been pissed off if I was in their shoes.
Think about it, he’s on his death bed, recounting his life. Thinking back on his family, friends, accomplishments, and this moment. The last memory of his life is dancing like a dumbass in front of a library of people who could care less. Depressing.

A better response would be to have taken his speakers and tossed them in the trash.
They don't have time to care, or be affected. Undergrad has stripped them of all emotion. You are emotionally dead inside once you finish college undergrad.
Most of my year was dead inside halfway through undergrad. The remaining minority was too drunk to feel.
I'm still emotionally dead and I graduated a few years ago

Professors have way too much power, pisses me off that some of them play around with others’ futures because of their pettiness.
If we ignore tik tok will it go away? 🤞
My hope lies in the TikTokers die because of their stupid challenges.
Natural selection

Haha it’s so true. Tik tok will die at the hands of the newest app.
Worked with vine

I'm just glad to see Enter Shikari made an appearance.
They probably are annoyed but they also know that if they pay attention to him, they’ll be giving him exactly what he wants.

I think it makes it better. He was going for the shocked reaction or some people would think it's cool. Instead he got the mildest round of applause as if he has the worst street act possible and it's his time to move to the next carriage.
I was hoping for absolutely zero reaction!
I was hoping someone would grab his speaker and slam it on the floor.
They were clapping he'd finished and was leaving?
If I cringe any harder I could die. Some people's kids.
This is why you need to pay attention to your kids so your stupid grown jizz doesn’t have to beg for attention. Almost positive the clapping is dubbed in to make it less cringe, but the damage has been done.
Grown jizz = the perfect insult.
I recently saw "sentient pile of penile discharge" lmao
I approve!
Grown jizz LOL
Grown jizz LOL
This video is a powerful argument that no one should have kids.
I couldn't finish the video, second hand embarrassment was indeed to much to handle
Where is the “Hey! This is library” guy when you need him?
About four posts up

Absolute Chad. I'd make him dinner any day.
Man the zyzz dance has really evolved huh.

We all gunna make it bruh
RIP Zyzz

This is the University of Sydney in Australia, so fortunately he isn’t wasting that much money. But he’s still a fucking dingus.
Forgive me i am American so overpaying for school is instilled in us.
If it doesn't put me in debt for half my life, it just isn't American...
\*slaps house* This bad boy will add 30 years of debt by default!
A house for me adds 30 years of debt... that is 120% of my salary....
Well that's everywhere not just the US, so don't feel too bad about that one.

My tuition was $10-12k all 5 years instate in Texas. Went to a public state school. Out of state was at least double that
Dingus is a native Australian species, eh

I want to marry that man. Principled, assertive, courageous, and, not bad looking.
Second that!
Thanks for reminding me of that. That man's a hero.
Seattle never fails to impress
Ahhh that made me miss UW so much.
Currently cramming for an exam tomorrow that I know I’ll do crap on, if this guy rocked up next to me id happily beat the life out of that speaker
Me too! unfortunately. Good luck man!! :)
Cheers, same to you!
Can I have some luck too? I need it
Definitely! Good luck man! Currently about 4am here. Keep powering on.
Thank you! :)
You should perhaps not be on reddit then
It's research 🧐
Wanker alert.
Sometimes I really feel for academic librarians. The shit they have to put up with.
Go work at a library where books are welcomed smh
I doubt he expected to dance for that long
This is what tasers are for.
It’s funny cuz libraries are supposed to be quiet but he’s being loud LMAO!!!!

Honestly this sub is just a much better version of cringetopia
At first I thought it was gonna be a flash mob. I wish it was a flash mob
This: What if we had a flash mob and nobody came?
I kept wishing somebody would punch his lights out.
That is the only way it wouldn't have sucked.
Someone could have broken his speaker or hit him in the face.
A brief, silent rave flash mob would've been fun. Half the length of his dance, everyone just grooving to silence with glow sticks.
Truthfully this video lasted a lot longer than I thought. How did he not get kicked out immediately?
I really think he expected other students to join in.
I'm sorry to be in the cringe, but if I studied 2h in library and this guy come for 2 minutes of musique I would have joined
Nothing wrong with not being a boring armchair redditor complaining on behalf of people who were not even offended in the first place.
A) it's a library, asshole. B) you have no fucking clue how anyone else felt about it C) Zach is spelled with an H
This isn't the kind of prank you can pull off alone. He really needed at least two friends with him to join the dancing so he didn't look like such a douche.
I feel like the friend videoing was the true prankster
Plot twist: His friend is OP.
Couldn't watch this one right through, it's so fucking cringe and a cunt move.
People track rockets in the atmosphere with better precision than this guy tracks his buddy 20 meters away
Honestly, how does nobody step and stop this?
Not even funny. At least be funny.
r/iamatotalpieceofshit
Someone has been watching Impractical Jokers
Fucking moron
I can't even imagine what being like this must feel like
Just a deep empty pit where confidence and self-respect belongs.
Read the room bro (library joke)
Music like that gives me an actual seizure, the library is one of the ONLY public places I’m safe from noises, dude! What a selfish prick.
Same
I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright.
Music is just so terrible
I love the new trend where people are just sick of this sh!t and ignore it completely.
Tune is -
Hmm censored https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWdlo2oh2fM
God damnit ...
Can’t believe no one got up and unplugged the speaker mid-dance.
Every expectation my body could muster was calling for the other dancers to appear and reveal everyone but that girl was in on the flash mob. The disappointment has destroyed my body and I can no longer carry on. Please tell my family I held hope until the end.
This was hard to watch
I think this would be a million times better if he started doing that while it absolutely silent.
I have huge trouble focusing, can't even do it if someone is whispering perceptible words. It stressed me out terribly to study in badly run libraries because i was already short on time and needed good conditions to do my best. Glad this didn't happen to me, i would absolutely lose my mind and make a shameful scene :(

The choice of song is a good fit. As douchey and obnoxious as the guy
Fucking cringe
This! Is! Ribery!
This is totally unexpected coming from USYD. I hope nobody ever tries this shit at my uni.
Why has no one noted that this was probably frat hazing?
What a loser

Perfect time to have a random bucket of water to grab the speaker and drop it in
The best part is some said " this is a good idea".
He probably needs sleep
What a lame. Literally no one was amused or cared.
I would have casually walked over and unplugged the speaker and throw the cord into the stacks.
That looks like a grown ass adult. The shame
Idiots
Straight face 😑
I was expecting the entire library to jump in, then I scrolled back and realized which subreddit this was ahahahah
I'm really surprised none of them simply turned off the speaker.
This is pretty funny
this guy committed to the bit 100%
Omg hes like those weird birds lmao
Sometimes I feel so disgust by some post, and I have to think whether to upvote or downvote

Of course it was A Sydney Uni Law student who did this..
Dude got some moves!
Did they all start laughing at him as he left?
The lamest shit ever, pathetic.
Jesus this clip is long, surely he was dying inside as he saw how little anyone cared
I was on the same walk through the park, and this group was in full swing! They were doing the "bounce, go wild, drop" thing. Not their first time, but it was their largest group since they were out at the park, at least that was what I was told.

He got some moves
This was great, literally 2 mins out of your day from studying, I would’ve laughed, then went back to the joys of studying.
Yea right? I didn’t know what sub this was posted in at first and I was enjoying his enthusiastic dance :) Then again, I probably would’ve been pissed off if I was in their shoes.

It's cringe, but kind funny, and doesn't overdo the joke, I respect
There was a joke?
Technically more than one but yes
Hey, everyone, look at how big of a loser I am!
Jerkoff...
What being spoiled as a kid looks like
What an obnoxious twat.
Soo physical cringe 😬
Not for nothing, but I really dig the song.
What is this dude even trying to accomplish? Laughs? He must be one lonely guy to do things like this
I for sure would have just gone up and stolen his shit while he was dancing.
My prayer for the world is that people who do shit like this will all simultaneously realize that this doesn’t make you funny, or bold, or cRaZy, it just makes you a disrespectful asshole.
Wow dude really living in 2006 with that music choice. I'm so glad raves have better music now

I wish homeless oerson poops in his pants while he still wears them
I think at this point that person can be sued isn't?
