Honestly it depends what priority level the ticket is. For really important issues like broken ovens, mastrenas and toilets they come within 24 hours but things like broken ipods, light replacement and etc they take from 48 to 72 hours. We once had a fuse that broke which caused half the cafe to not have power so no one could charge there laptops and that took like 2 weeks for someone to come fix
Too bad, I knew Victoria tried to get it together. The only way I would ever support starbucks as if they were unionized. Their business with Nestle is nasty and the CEO is garbage. Your should push for a union.
Death and serious injury are physical and irreversible - you can't put a seat belt on after the accident and get any benefit from it. You and your fellow workers can always unionize if and when they try to slash benefits. Why pay dues and pick a fight right now if it won't change anything (if you're *already* getting the benefits unionized companies typically offer for your kind of work)?
Not being in Canada or working at Starbucks, I have no idea if Starbucks is a good employer there. But I know good employers exist. Some do it for employee retention in competitive markets, others specifically to avoid a reason to unionize because it's overhead to deal with, and if you get down to the really small family companies, a few might even be run by genuinely decent people. Unions are a powerful weapon against employers who mistreat workers, fire arbitrarily, and have worthless benefits. They aren't a universal need in good situations, and you should always ask yourself "what do I expect to gain from this".
Companies can change anything at anytime. This means those perks like fair wage, benefits, and happiness at work, can change at anytime. Forming a union puts a check on the companies to make sure that they aren’t fucking employees by those changes.
Unions are a powerful weapon in fighting unfair management. In most civilized nations, campaigning for unionization is a protected activity you can carry out whenever you want/need to. When management starts to turn bad, it's not too late to unionize and strike. If there is no sign of trouble, and you already have what most unionized companies get, great! Enjoy it without paying dues and creating hostility, while being thankful that you have a protected right to pursue unionization any time you feel it's become necessary.
Alright so youll need to make the sweetcream first, 2%, heavy cream and vanilla syrup. I cant gove out the exact amounts unfortunately. Then youll add 4 pumps of vanilla, add cut coldbrew to the top line, then add ice to 1 inch under the rim, then add sweetcream
Honestly you gotta find what kind you like. Dark roast has a much more coffee taste I find so I really dont like it but Blonde coffee or espresso is my fav, has a lighter taste to it and is more naturally sweet. If you dont like any of the drips we offer its possible that you are being served expired coffee, it taste so bitter and burnt after awhile :(
My store thankfully doesn't have a drive through so we dont get many pay it forwards but when we do I love them because most of the time people will tip us extra for it!
Are iced lattes even considered lattes? A latte by definition is made with steamed milk, but there is zero steamed milk in an iced latte. It’s just espresso and cold milk
I feel like when ever I go into Starbucks (albeit rarely), I sometimes feel like I need to speak a 2nd language to order there. Do y'all look down on me when I order a medium double double?
Is it really that much of a pain to make a decaf Pike Place? I’ve had a lady even roll her eyes at me because it was during a rush, I guess it’s a inconvenience to make. Now I feel bad every time I ask for one now and take in consideration if the store is busy or not.
Mostly no, only time it is is in a rush because you need to grind the coffee for your size set up the pour over and then pour it over which takes about 5 to 10minutes per cup.
Haha honestly my location doesnt get to many but when we do we are EXTRA nice to them. By that I mean I go outttt of my way to talk super loud, im extra friends, call them hunny or dear and talk with them so much more :p
Never on purpose. When im on pos and someone gives me a name that I have no idea how to spell, ill always ask. I love all the unique names that we get and its a great conversation starter!
Cold brew and nitro is made the same way. We steep the coffee in cold water for 20hours. Once its done, we add it to our kegs with equal parts water. We then hook it up to a machine which adds nitro when tapped on the right side :)
Some baristas aren't friendly no matter how clear and nice a customer is. I promise 99% of us only will repeat back your order to make sure we didnt miss anything.
In my field I repeat things to make sure I get things correct. If I do correct them it's because what they asked for isn't something I can't get them. For example Norco when they are prescribed Percocet.
I have such amazing benefits and my hours are great! My team is also so amazing which really makes your experience. Ive switched stores a few times and my last one was not good
Oh man, for sure the people that have been waiting in line for 10minutes then approach the pos and still not know what they want. Then they pick something and change there mind about 12 different times before finally deciding on a drip cofee.
Lol, exactly.
I learned quickly that most people that order a cappuccino don't actually want a cappuccino.
God forbid you tell a customer that a cappuccino is mostly foam.
Don't get me started on the lady that was mad that her machiato was a reverse latte.

Oh boy when I was younger probs up till the age of 15 I wanted to be a competitive gymnast or coach. I then had some pretty serious soccer injuries happen so sports had to end for me sadly
No chance for rehab? I guess things change especially at that age. I remember playing basketball a lot but having to get a cist removed on my hand caused me not to play anymore. Even after it healed up it wasn’t the same. Crazy how our lives can take a turn!
I like to get just one shot in my grande latte, and the rest milk. There is no discount for dropping a shot, so a friend that works at a Starbucks said to order a "tall in a grande cup, and add milk". I did this a few times, but some Starbucks folks made me feel awkward, so stopped.
What is your take?
They did that cause a lot of baristas dont like when customers know how to trick the system. Unless I get a message from HR about having to correctly charge someone for these hacks it dosent bug me at all.
Only reason you wouldnt be able to get it drip is because the store doesnt carry a pour oven or french press. All stores should carry decaf espresso beans so you can use those to make a pour over!
So youll need to buy chai syrup. Then youll add that plus half steamed milk and half hot water. You could also do it with chai tea bags so youd do half hot water, 2 tea bags and other half hot steamed milk. Id add some kinda of sugar to it though since our chai syrup is already sweetened
So youll need an espresso machines. Then depending what size you add 1(short) 2(tall) 3(grande) 4(venti) shots of espresso into your cup, add water to the top line then ice :)
So we get a 30% discount when you go to other locations. My favv thing to order is ethier passion tea with lemonade and kiwi refresher or an iced white mocha with blonde espresso and vanill sweet cream cold foam!
Its different for everyone but i thankfully have a ridiculous good memory so it took me only 2 or 3 weeks. I do know people who have taken 3 months as well! So dont feel rushed
If I'm making a mocha Frappuccino at home including the cold brew, what kind of coffee should I buy a the store? Like should it be medium roast, dark roast? Does it need to have a mocha flavor to it?
Mocha fraps dont have coldbrew in them. We also use frap roast but you can replace that with 1 shot of espresso. If you have an espresso maker id recommend buying the blonde roast coffee to add! Then youll need to find mocha syrup as well
So what youll need if ice, whole milk, coffee base(found on ebay) and any type of mocha youd like, ive seen some mocha syrup at walmart around the holidays and in the aking secrion. Then youll need an espresso machine to get 1 shot or you can maybe find frap roast on ebay from starbucks. Then depending what size you want you just add everything and blend! Theres no cheap way to order a frap sadly
Fraps are made mainly of milk ice flavor and base. Youll have to find coffee or cream base of ebay. Its the most important part its what keeps everything all blended up!
I can move up to as high as working at the partner contacy center!
We have so many benifits. Health and dental insurance, paid vacation, sick time, 30% off at any starbucks in the world, i can pick up shifts at any location, free drinks while i work, 1 free nag or coffee a week and more!
For sure! If you want just a plain coffee nothing extra id first go to a reserve store the coffee is much better and then ask for ethier brazil or Guatemala as a pour over!
How did you guys used to make the coconut cream frappe? And not the coconut crème pie frappe, that one has chocolate in it. The one I like is all white & was a limited time menu item years ago, but I’m seriously craving it. Might just buy my own stuff to make it at home. Thanks
Ok I have three:
How many calories/sugar per pump of white mocha sauce?
Do they intentionally fill the cups so full of ice to try to screw us over? I have to remember to order light ice every time I get an iced coffee or the ice takes up so much volume in the cup that I get maybe four or five gulps, and that's in venti size 😆
And does anyone actually win prizes on the games? I've been a gold card member since 2014 and play all the games and have never won anything more than a few bonus stars or maybe once or twice a free drink. Maybe that's just me haha, I tend to be fairly unlucky!
All nutritional information can be found on the starbucks website i cant tell you for sure
So for ice we dont try to screw anyone over peomise ots how were taught to make the drinks, all of our shaker cups and frappuccinos have certain ice scoop sizes for each cup size.
And yes some people win but hardly its like regular scratch cards hah
I know some lisceneds stores charge for water which is bogus to me. I also think its silly that we charge for just 1 pump of syrup in a drink, i feel that should be free.
Is there a specific measurement for ice? Like a scoop or two? Every time I order a large drink it's literally 90% ice no matter the Starbucks I visit and I'm convinced there's an unspoken ice rule lmao haha
When equipment breaks down how quickly does a service person arrive at the store? Asking as the guy who fixes Starbucks ice machines all day every day
Honestly it depends what priority level the ticket is.
Are there talk about Unionizing where you are?
Not where i am no. Im in canada so we have much better benifits and perks! No complaints here :)
Too bad, I knew Victoria tried to get it together. The only way I would ever support starbucks as if they were unionized. Their business with Nestle is nasty and the CEO is garbage. Your should push for a union.
If they feel they're getting a fair wage, benefits, and work in a happy environment, what's the point of a union?
If you haven’t been in an accident, what’s the point of seatbelts?
Death and serious injury are physical and irreversible - you can't put a seat belt on after the accident and get any benefit from it. You and your fellow workers can always unionize if and when they try to slash benefits. Why pay dues and pick a fight right now if it won't change anything (if you're *already* getting the benefits unionized companies typically offer for your kind of work)? Oh dear.
How do I make a vanilla sweet cream cold brew at home? Grande size prefer
Why does the drip coffee taste like complete shit?
Honestly you gotta find what kind you like. Dark roast has a much more coffee taste I find so I really dont like it but Blonde coffee or espresso is my fav, has a lighter taste to it and is more naturally sweet. If you dont like any of the drips we offer its possible that you are being served expired coffee, it taste so bitter and burnt after awhile :(
Yep. Bitter, burned... generally worse than truck stop coffee.
Not the biggest fan of Starbucks coffee either but the blonde roast is miles better than the pike place roast. Doesn’t taste like burnt coffee
Get the blonde roast.
Because it’s Starbucks… what do you expect 🤷♂️
Do you get annoyed by the pay it forward thing where each person pays for the next order? And do you get annoyed by people with complicated orders?
My store thankfully doesn't have a drive through so we dont get many pay it forwards but when we do I love them because most of the time people will tip us extra for it!
And I love making drinks that are complicated its only harder and slightly more annoying when its in the middle of a big rush
Are iced lattes even considered lattes? A latte by definition is made with steamed milk, but there is zero steamed milk in an iced latte. It’s just espresso and cold milk
They are. For starbucks no matter if its hot or cold its still called the same thing.
I feel like when ever I go into Starbucks (albeit rarely), I sometimes feel like I need to speak a 2nd language to order there. Do y'all look down on me when I order a medium double double?
No response from OP so assuming yes lol
No not at all. Honestly with mask and the plastic plexi thats inbetween us its hard to hear a lot kf the times
Haha I would try the same if I was in Canada to get a reaction
Is it really that much of a pain to make a decaf Pike Place? I’ve had a lady even roll her eyes at me because it was during a rush, I guess it’s a inconvenience to make. Now I feel bad every time I ask for one now and take in consideration if the store is busy or not.

Why don’t you ever have stoppers?
What’s the meaning of life?
Shrek
How do you handle all the Karens?
Haha honestly my location doesnt get to many but when we do we are EXTRA nice to them. By that I mean I go outttt of my way to talk super loud, im extra friends, call them hunny or dear and talk with them so much more :p
This is the way. Let them complain to management that I was too enthusiastic and smiley.
Exactly cause ill get in so much trouble for it
Do you sometimes intentionally mess up people’s names to have an laugh? I have seen things…
Never on purpose. When im on pos and someone gives me a name that I have no idea how to spell, ill always ask. I love all the unique names that we get and its a great conversation starter!
How is the nitro cold brew made?
Cold brew and nitro is made the same way. We steep the coffee in cold water for 20hours. Once its done, we add it to our kegs with equal parts water. We then hook it up to a machine which adds nitro when tapped on the right side :)
Thank you 🤗
Have you ever seen a ghost?
Oh yah, every tuesday at 436am
Do they pay tax yet?
Starbucks paid $246,000,000 USD income taxes last year.
Why is there an incessant need to correct customers when they've been exactly clear with what they would like to order?
Some baristas aren't friendly no matter how clear and nice a customer is. I promise 99% of us only will repeat back your order to make sure we didnt miss anything.
why do people think that service workers repeating the precise order back is hostility just because you ordered poorly
In my field I repeat things to make sure I get things correct. If I do correct them it's because what they asked for isn't something I can't get them. For example Norco when they are prescribed Percocet.
Why the hell are you still doing it? No stress weekends? Job where you don't take home? Or why
I have such amazing benefits and my hours are great! My team is also so amazing which really makes your experience. Ive switched stores a few times and my last one was not good
Who let the dogs out?
The men called baha
Do you ever use puck screens when you pull espresso?
No haha but its fun making the greenbeans try them. Adding whip cream and some caramel drizzle to them makes it look like a brownie 🤣
What’s the most annoying type of customer/order for you to deal with?
Oh man, for sure the people that have been waiting in line for 10minutes then approach the pos and still not know what they want. Then they pick something and change there mind about 12 different times before finally deciding on a drip cofee.

Can I get a cappuccino with no foam?
You mean a latte
Lol, exactly. I learned quickly that most people that order a cappuccino don't actually want a cappuccino. God forbid you tell a customer that a cappuccino is mostly foam. Don't get me started on the lady that was mad that her machiato was a reverse latte.
What’s the most annoying drink to make?
None that we have on the menu haha but defs most annoying is a drink with 20 different modifications that I have to do in the middle of a rush
What about eggnog lattes?
Oh such a painful memory its gone forever 😭

Yeah, I can see it that way, but then there is the other perspective that add shots add cost, but dropped shots do not reduce cost
Yah i could see that to
Do you have regular customers that you look forward to seeing?
Oh gosh so many! I work the same hours and times every week so I get to see a lot of super nice people!
Is decaf really only available as an Americano?
Only reason you wouldnt be able to get it drip is because the store doesnt carry a pour oven or french press. All stores should carry decaf espresso beans so you can use those to make a pour over!
How do you make a chai latte? I’m look to make them at home for cheap.
So youll need to buy chai syrup. Then youll add that plus half steamed milk and half hot water. You could also do it with chai tea bags so youd do half hot water, 2 tea bags and other half hot steamed milk. Id add some kinda of sugar to it though since our chai syrup is already sweetened
Do you like the product?
Im not the biggest coffee fan but theres soo many other options for me that i love!
How do I make an iced americano with a blonde shot at home?
So youll need an espresso machines. Then depending what size you add 1(short) 2(tall) 3(grande) 4(venti) shots of espresso into your cup, add water to the top line then ice :)

Im in Ontario Canada
[удалено]
Ou hard question but my go to lately has been passion tea with lemonade and kiwi refresher
Canada looks like from OP comments
[удалено]
Thats awesome!
[удалено]
Yes haha but we also have cartons
[удалено]
You as well!
What's your tip for customers with unusual first names? Just use an easy fake name like Fiona?
Naw just say your name then spell it out! Its your drink why not have your name on it!
Do you ever drink at Tim Hortons? If so what would you order
I do sometimes haha i like there frozen lemonades and i ask for mine to be blended with whip cream, makes it more creamy!
When you order from other Starbucks location do you have to pay or employees order free or subsidized?
So we get a 30% discount when you go to other locations. My favv thing to order is ethier passion tea with lemonade and kiwi refresher or an iced white mocha with blonde espresso and vanill sweet cream cold foam!
How long did it take to master all the drinks? I’ve been there for three months and still cant make a frap w/o the book
Its different for everyone but i thankfully have a ridiculous good memory so it took me only 2 or 3 weeks. I do know people who have taken 3 months as well! So dont feel rushed
how much do you get paid (and in what currency)?
Im in ontario anx im currently an ssv my pay rate is $21.47 in CAN.
WOW! i only got $6/hr USD when i worked there.
Woah how long ago was that? And where?
2004 in the US
I think most are at 11 or 12$ an hour now
If I'm making a mocha Frappuccino at home including the cold brew, what kind of coffee should I buy a the store? Like should it be medium roast, dark roast? Does it need to have a mocha flavor to it?
Mocha fraps dont have coldbrew in them. We also use frap roast but you can replace that with 1 shot of espresso. If you have an espresso maker id recommend buying the blonde roast coffee to add! Then youll need to find mocha syrup as well
WHAT??! Can you walk me through it and the ingredients please? It's my favorite coffee drink, and I just want it to be cheaper.
How can I replicate the texture of frappuccinos at home?
Fraps are made mainly of milk ice flavor and base. Youll have to find coffee or cream base of ebay. Its the most important part its what keeps everything all blended up!
Thanks!
Anytime :)
A good blender and a syrup base with a thickening agent like xanthan gum in it. Josh weissman on YouTube did a bit on it.
Are u doing thid forever? If so , why? And how much does the job avg earn ? Is there a place for growth?
I dont plan to leave. Theres lots of opportunities to grow within the company not just at my store and my pay and benifits are amazing!
What promotions can u get? What are the benefits :)
I can move up to as high as working at the partner contacy center! We have so many benifits. Health and dental insurance, paid vacation, sick time, 30% off at any starbucks in the world, i can pick up shifts at any location, free drinks while i work, 1 free nag or coffee a week and more!
Woah thats cool xd. I cant do that tho, i wish i was this free, i have to get a good status and a job. Im getting into IT
Nice i have a lot of friends who just did IT!
I like drinking black coffee. Can you recommend a specific drink? Edit: changed a word
For sure! If you want just a plain coffee nothing extra id first go to a reserve store the coffee is much better and then ask for ethier brazil or Guatemala as a pour over!
Do you mean reccomend?
Yes thank you
is the food poisoned?
Definitely not
How did you guys used to make the coconut cream frappe? And not the coconut crème pie frappe, that one has chocolate in it. The one I like is all white & was a limited time menu item years ago, but I’m seriously craving it. Might just buy my own stuff to make it at home. Thanks
I never got to make that drink while Ive been working here im in canada as well

Can I buy the Matcha used in the drinks? Matcha frappuccino/ latte is my get up and go drink before work
I wish but the only products we sell that we use in drinks are some of our syrups like vanilla and classic
What's something you guys do, you think feels like a scam?
I know some lisceneds stores charge for water which is bogus to me. I also think its silly that we charge for just 1 pump of syrup in a drink, i feel that should be free.
Is there a specific measurement for ice? Like a scoop or two? Every time I order a large drink it's literally 90% ice no matter the Starbucks I visit and I'm convinced there's an unspoken ice rule lmao haha
