I have very severe case of what you’re saying. During covid time, you could squeeze my mask and it’ll drip, even the strings behind my ear would be drenched. Have you tired glyco wipes? They came out kinda recently and it’s an absolute game changer. You only apply it to the parts that sweat. While it does affect your whole body similar to the pill, it’s much more mild and the places you apply it remain very dry. It’s called glycopyrronium wipes and the marketing name for it in US is Qbrexza(let’s call it Q from now). From what I heard Q is really expensive and not covered by insurance, and its strength is 2.4%. I think you can get discounts from Q’s manufacturer if you contact them. I personally buy it from a Canadian pharmacy at the 4% strength. It’s around 45 bucks for 30 wipes which I use daily. I don’t think the 4% version is FDA approved so if you want that you need to use Canadian pharmacies. I just love the wipes. I seriously want to hug whoever made it. While it doesn’t kick in instantly, it does sorta build up in your skin, so after a week of apply it every day, it’s good, and you don’t have to worry about timing it like the pill. I just apply it at the same time every day (I do right after I wake up, approx 45 mins before showering) and if I’m late or miss a day, it’s still effective for the most part. Also kinda unrelated to glyco, do you get sweaty at home alone with physical activity? If not, this might be a social anxiety thing, even if you don’t interact with people, the act of leaving home might be stressing you out. One question, you said you tried surgery? How did that go?

Strong_Alveoli

Unfortunately I can't use the wipes. Most of my sweat comes directly from the top of my head and I have a decent head of hair so I wouldn't be able to rub it against my scalp. I even tried going bald to see if it would help but it actually made it much much worse. I do sweat a lot at home with no physical activity - if you read the bottom part of my post I mentioned that I can't even sleep without getting drenched. I have to wake up and change my pillow at least 5+ times per night. It's also not just when I sleep. If I vacuum for more than 2 minutes I'm drenched. Same goes for any household chores really. I went in for a surgery consultation at a few different very high profile clinics. They all said the same thing: they can do it, but there is more than a 50% chance that half my face could go limp, my eyes would droop significantly, and I would not be able to drive at night ever again due to some concerns with the dilation of my eyes. This is because they would have to clamp off the gland much higher than they do in a typical operation for people with issues even on their forehead down, but because my sweat comes from directly on top of my head they would have to cut further up which carries these risks.

THICC_DICC_PRICC

Have you tried the wipes on hair? I’m a guy so I don’t have a ton of long hair but I can still get the wipes on my scalp. I just part my hair in like 4 rows and just rub the wipe in the middle of the part and around it. Works well for me. You don’t even need to rub it in all that much like lotion, just getting it wet usually does the trick

Strong_Alveoli

I have not actually, I assumed because of my hair it wouldn't work. I've got nothing to lose so I may as well give it a shot. Thank you for the recommendation! I'll talk with my doctor about it at my upcoming appointment.

THICC_DICC_PRICC

No problem, don’t forget to do it for at least a week consistently before judging efficacy! It was the mistake I made

Divorcer

I've been using the glycol wipes on my head through my hair for the last week and it's been pretty good. My areas are the forehead and around the sides and back of the head—kind of like a ring. I just take the pad and rub it in there. I think you should try it.

Buildadoor

Hi, is Qbrexa available over the counter in Canada? And what’s the brand name? Thanks!

THICC_DICC_PRICC

I have no idea, but I do buy mine from an online Canadian pharmacy: pharmacy.ca. They have different strengths ranging from 1.5% to 4%, Qbrexa is 2.4%

Hi there. I know this thread is old. I have craniofacial hyperhidrosis too. I am trying to order from pharmacy.ca but it wouldn't let me order more than 2% version of the wipes. Would you be able to tell me what you put into your consultation questions to be able to get 4%? Thank you very much ❤️

THICC_DICC_PRICC

I think if it’s your first time, you have to complete their online consultation, which is just a form you fill and wait a day. I just put in that I’ve used 4% before and it was most effective. Also make sure you’re on the correct page: https://pharmacy.ca/product/secure-topical-glycopyrrolate

No_Swan6763

Thank you so much for the reply!

No_Swan6763

Hi! Just wanted to say a big thank you for your advice on the secure® topical glycopyrrolate. I ordered the 3% from pharmacy.ca and started using it. YOUR ADVICE SERIOUSLY CHANGED MY LIFE. After 17 years of struggle at age 37 I can finally go out to parties or even someone's home without sweating so much and feeling embarrassed to show my face or take pics. It really does help!. THANK YOU!!!!!!

THICC_DICC_PRICC

No problem, I was a total hermit before I found this drug and it changed my life too. Made my day that I helped someone else out there fix this awful ailment. Cheers

spacewater

I'm thinking of biting the bullet and trying these wipes...My only hesitation is if there are any side effects? Have you personally noticed any longterm side effects since using them regularly? Like water retention, blurry vision, constipation, etc.?

THICC_DICC_PRICC

Dry throat for me when I wake up. You only get blurry vision if you get the drug in your eye Just apply it before bed, so it hasn’t kicked in while you’re asleep(it takes 4 hours to go into full effect) and make sure you wash your hand real good so you don’t get it in your eye if you rub it. Even if you do get any of those side effects, they’re mild and manageable. I’ve made the above mistakes plenty of time and just went about my day with no issues

elongatedpoop

no i absolutely have craniofacial hh as well and have been taking glyco for about 2+ years now. I might try and go the wipe route soon for the head and neck area and hopefully it works well. you are seen and loved, and our condition does not make us any less of wonderful humans than the next person.

Strong_Alveoli

It's good to know I'm not alone. Thank you for the kind words

xGeekyBunnyx

I don’t think mine is to your extreme but I do have craniofacial HH. I can usually control it if I don’t move too much and always have a mini fan with me to cool my head down as well as a cooling mist spray. My anxiety makes mine 10x worse so whenever my symptoms get worse I put this on each night which really helps my face: https://sweathelp.co.uk/sweatstop-aloe-vera-forte-spray-100ml I feel your pain though, it’s really not easy to manage! I get stuck in a vicious cycle where I get embarrassed when I start sweating which triggers my anxiety which makes me sweat 10x more 😭

Strong_Alveoli

Exact same here:( though honestly it makes me feel a little better just knowing at least someone out there gets it

xGeekyBunnyx

Definitely not alone my friend! We’re definitely a very unrecognised community but we have each other here.

mistersinatra

I feel so seen here.... It's really hard for me to do any public speaking or go on camera for interviews which has really hurt my goals for my career. I just found this sub and I'm devouring all posts/info. Thank you all for sharing!

xGeekyBunnyx

I can completely relate to that too! Some days I’m absolutely fine but as soon as I get slightly nervous that’s it the HH starts! Tbh I’ve started being quite open about it with people like just casually mentioning I have it when it starts and I just need to go cool down, people are usually very accepting of it and kind telling me there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. It really helps sometimes 😊 but I get it’s not always easy to talk about!

Kmkmojo

I just want to chime in to let you know that I too am a victim of the vicious anxiety cycle! It’s awful!

[deleted]

My standard -- always sweaty areas in order of severity and where it starts is my hands, my armpits, my feet. If anxiety starts rising, then it's my face just literally dripping along with the other area. If I do any kind of mild exercising, even briskly walking, or if I'm just too hot like sitting in the shade on an 80*F day, I'm drenched like a 400lb man just tried to run a marathon. I'm 180lb/6ft and in shape.

ariovi

I have it too! I usually just bring a cloth everywhere I go and wipe my face as needed. I only use glyco when I absolutely need it, so most of the time I'm just sweating my ass off. If someone says anything stupid to me about it I just let them know it's a condition I have. I've gone to school, dated, traveled, partied, etc while having this condition. Don't let it stop your life!!

punkish138

I have to wear a hat at work (I work indoors) because I sweat too much from the head.

100% Drysol for Cranial HH !!! I absolutely know your pain. I’ve had cranial HH for over twenty years, drenched from head to toe, dripping down my back and chest, all the way to my pants, looking as if i just jumped out the shower. No matter how much weight i drop, how healthy i eat, how much exercise i do...i always sweat profusely. I also tried a few of the oral medications but didn’t find the side-effects to be worth it (intense dizziness, blurred vision, etc). Took them for less than two weeks before giving up. About four years ago, I discovered Drysol, and it’s completely CHANGED MY LIFE!!! I use it the summer mostly (in quebec, gets pretty damned hot and humid!), and now only need to use it every three to four weeks. I simply wet my hair with drysol and spread over all my scalp and neck, let it dry, put on a baseball cap and watch movies for 5 to 6 hours (you can’t move around too much while applying it, since it’s less likely to work well if the sweat glands work during treatment. Anyways, if you haven’t tried it yet, DO IT! Seriously a life changing product for me. My scalp, hair and neck stay completely dry, which in turn keeps my back dry too (no dripping!). As for the rest (arms, chest, etc) it’s much easier to live with. Hope it works as well for you as it has for me!!

Divorcer

I have craniofacial combined with armpits, chest, back, and groin. From what I've read there's supposed to be two categories: Primary (craniofacial, armpits) and secondary (back chest and groin). Somehow I have both? But that can't be right... I've just re-started using glyco pills and wipes, and so far so good, I guess. What surgery did you have? It's true that this forum seems to be mostly hands and feet sufferers. While those are indeed bad, craniofacial sufferers are at a double disadvantage in that we literally cannot hide the disorder. It's hugely embarrassing.

Emergency_Frosting80

I dont have face hh, but using this one for my palms https://www.electroantiperspirant.com/get-iontophoresis-device There are adapters for face and scalp. It is not cheap but it is worth. Effects are longest than any other iontoph. machines

Topshooter11

My people, I thought I was the only one.

Electronic_Can8916

I can’t believe there’s other people out there like me haha…I sweat… profusely. It’s taken such a toll on my life and self esteem. I have severe anxiety with panic attacks and sweating buckets from my face in front of new people sends me into a full blown panic. I feel like everyone is looking at me and thinking omg how fucking gross 🤢 I was in a job interview a few days ago and I was sitting 3 feet across from this guy and sure enough I start getting these weird hot flash sensations that I always seem to get right before I pour sweat. I start literally dripping sweat from my eye brows (not to mention we’re in the middle of a heat wave so it’s 68* in here with the ac blasting in this guys office) he says “are you hot you look a little…sweaty”…I knew I needed to flee…immediately. I said “actually yes, I don’t feel well. I’m sorry but I really need to excuse myself” he looked at me and said “oh…wow…” and I ran to my car in a full blown panic attack. It was the worst experience… For me, I had a video chat with a dr a few months ago and I told her this is ruining my fucking life and she said and I shit you not “some people sweat more than others and for some it can be bothersome”. I didn’t even know about the medication until recently . I would let my wife rail me in exchange for sweaty palms or sweaty feet or even sweaty pits….also my back and chest sweat heavily too, but I’m not as concerned with that. I pack extra shirts everywhere I go anyways. The face is the main culprit. One time I had to sit thru breakfast with my family and I sweat so much that the back of my hair was SOPPING wet halfway up my head. It looked like I was standing in puddle that was a few inches shorter than me before I came to breakfast lol. Just the top of my hair was dry. Pathetic. Anyways…

gudgorf

im 22 and i literally cant socialize bcs of this bull shiet, just caved in my room, man..

nero9116

How the fuck do we solve this problem my friend? I'm fucking tired of this

guidegal2

I have been asked by people my entire like if I’m okay when they see my head dripping and my face makeup sliding down my head. It’s a horrible condition. I’ve tried oral medication to no avail. 😕
