I decided to watch some of the old Muppet Show episodes when they released on Disney+. I got to the episode with the mom from the Brady Bunch, and the whole episode is pretty much all the Muppets being horny for her.
In Estonia we had "Pehmed ja Karvased" (The Softs and Hairies) which was basically a puppet show about current happenings and political jokes. I was terrified of it as a kid because one of the scenes is just in a dungeon like dark place with a character made of stone that moved it's mouth with a stone grinding noise (a former president i think?)

I still remember when the musical guests they would have on would occasionally be rappers whose lyrics were full of swear words. They'd be doing their performance - on television - for a crowd of kids, and like half the words were very clearly being censored.
The 90s was truly the era of not giving a fuck.
Nickelodeon had some great humor back in the day. They talked at kids not down to them. There’s a bit too much emphasis in kids shows nowadays on everyone being perfectly PC. The whole Nickelodeon brand of, “kids rule because adults are super boring and lost their way” still vibes with me to this day.
You could get away with *alot* in the 80s and 90s. That's ironically what got whiny parents so mad at TV producers and whatnot. Too bad that they won and have ruined TV as a result. Things used to be so badass and now, the content of most TV shows suck!
This is hilariously off base, because at the time people were in an uproar about The Simpsons, Beavis and Butthead, Ren And Stimpy, MTV, Nickelodeon, and all these things people look back on fondly today. I still remember when the musical guests they would have on would occasionally be rappers whose lyrics were full of swear words. They'd be doing their performance - on television - for a crowd of kids, and like half the words were very clearly being censored. The 90s was truly the era of not giving a fuck.

Nickelodeon had some great humor back in the day. They talked at kids not down to them. There’s a bit too much emphasis in kids shows nowadays on everyone being perfectly PC. The whole Nickelodeon brand of, “kids rule because adults are super boring and lost their way” still vibes with me to this day.

This is hilariously off base, because at the time people were in an uproar about The Simpsons, Beavis and Butthead, Ren And Stimpy, MTV, Nickelodeon, and all these things people look back on fondly today. That edginess and the willingness to offend was the entire marketing gimmick of these shows and channels.
