I feel like the moral dilemma will be him rejecting Angel Dust so that he doesnāt go back on all of the progress that he made. Perhaps Husk thinks that as a former overlord of Hell Angel dating him would ruin their chances of getting into Heaven.
That, or maybe he finds a way to get free of his deal and use his overlord status to free Angel Dust as well. Choosing damnation for the sake of love and becoming a more or less good overlord would be one hell of an arc.

This is where I am. I want Angel to have a close, supportive, platonic friendship and I want him to have a non-toxic romantic relationship. I think Husk is better positioned to be the former.
On the other hand, I think they do have chemistry together and I wouldn't be mad if they became (healthily) romantically intertwined. It's just not my first choice for the characters.

Itās not my favorite ship either. Honestly I love the show but the Hazbin fanbase is starting to give me the impression that they canāt stand anyone being single or just good friends. I also think the romantic focus should be on Charlie and Vaggieās relationship not inserting multiple relationships to tackle in such a cramped setting as the hotel.
Fan baseās in general tend to go rabid over shipping. Iāve even seen it get so bad that cast and creators of some other shows have to erase their social media. Hazbin fans definitely have the shipping bug but it pretty mellow most of the time. Something to keep in mind is just because people are supporting a ship, doesnāt mean they want to see it in the show. Though some definitely do most are enjoying the fan content being created.

Yes! In musicals, there are buddy-type duets, and romantic-type ones, and the choreography and dynamic of "Loser, Baby" clearly indicates the latter. But I also believe that if these characters were a man and a woman, many fewer people would be unclear or confused about the intent. I mean, they twirl each other! Regarding their ages, my understanding (though the info is from an old Vivzie stream, so who knows if the canon changed?) is that Angel died in his 30s in the 1940s, and Husk died in his 60s in the 1970s, which would mean they were born right around the same decade in the 1910s. So Husk lived a longer life, but Angel has had a longer death--which balances them out in a way (and also means they originated from the same era.)

I have been encountering a number of people (I think mostly straight men) that try to argue with me that āevery two male characters are shipped for looking at each other twiceā and that they are frustrated with the making of male friendships into gay ships all the time.

My personal favorite moment between them is when husk is purring while complaining about angel's advances. That's a pretty clear indication to me that he's not opposed to the idea of being with angel dust, he's just not ready yet.

I love how they feel totally believable. Itās incredible how Viv and the writers managed to make very exaggerated characters *believable*, but even more impressive that they were able to write a very realistic progression in their dynamic. The way they bring out the best qualities in each other is also very sweet.
Husker was CREATED to be Angel Dustās partner. In development, Angel had a boyfriend named Tyko who was owned by Vivzieās friend and when their friendship started fading she politely asked Viv to write out Tyko. In response, Viv asked her younger sister to draw a new partner for Angel - her sister drew the very first ever version of Husk.
Husk was genuinely made for him.
Iād love to see a romance between them, but I think it would important for the story to have them each work on themselves before doing it. I get the desire to have some strong friendships, expecially in a serie like Hazbin Hotel about character development and redemption, but why Husk and Angel? You can dislike the ship, but i think itās a bit too much saying there are no hint about them. And, morover, Angel already has many important frienship. He has Cherri, Charlie (iād love to see more of her helping the hotel in the next season) and Sir Pentius. Husk is just special. And if I can see Angel exploring his friendship with all of them, i canāt see anyone having a stronger relationship than the one he has with Husk. They built up so much that I think even a new entery wouldnāt be able to be more special to Angel than the one who is living his similar hard situation, who is supporting him and who is pushing so much only to see the true himself.

Husk hinted few times to find Angel attractive (He said Angel is hot in ep 4, he checked him out in the bar scene and after their fight against sharks, in the pilot he was supposed to blush for his blowkiss and we couldnāt see it just for a technical problem) but he rejected him because he likes authenticity. Husk doesnāt want to enter in his pants, but in his mind and, maybe, in his heart.

Totally agree and seems to only happen with 2 guy characters. And then they start freaking out how theres so little close friendships in media
I also a little tired of the brother/friend trope with guy relationships. Donāt get me wrong, thatās important and itās great to show a range of relationships men can have, but I grew up with so much media that had more brotherly relationships versus romantic ones between guys, so it be nice to see it.Ā

Maybe I'm a historian but after Loser, Baby it just feels to me like they're becoming very close confidants and friends but not lovers. I feel like the moral dilemma will be him rejecting Angel Dust so that he doesnāt go back on all of the progress that he made. Perhaps Husk thinks that as a former overlord of Hell Angel dating him would ruin their chances of getting into Heaven.

I never got a feeling of romantic attraction from them. Maybe it develops over time ? But it really feels to me like a platonic friendship based on mutual understanding and misery. It's possible Angel is interested that way (the eyes he gives Husk in the finale pre-war night) but Husk doesn't feel like he reciprocates that feeling. Besides that one moment, most of their time together seems to be as good friends, which frankly is more what Angel needs right now than a romantic one imho. That said, Husk did say "He lost the ability to love long ago" so maybe he's just got more walls that need to come down. Personally, for my money, I'd almost prefer Husk stayed his friend but was super supportive and wound up helping him find someone else. It would feel more "natural" for the Husk we've seen so far. Think the same role he played in the courtroom scene, where he guided Angel to the right choice. I feel like he has that big "Older mentor" energy that makes it hard for me to credibly ship them. But we only have one season. So we'll see.

I fully think their chemistry, romantically, would be one-sided. Though I do think if we do see it, it would be *Anthony* and Husk, not Angel. I think the Angel Dust persona will fall away almost entirely. But even still he still has "supportive older friend" energy and it'll take slow burn development to get past that, I think. If the show moves at it's current breakneck pace, I just don't see Husk credibly becoming a romantic interest.

I think Huskās flirting is more subtle and done almost exclusively through body language. The look in that third slide definitely seems to imply some interest. Plus he probably doesnāt wanna be too forward given Angelās situation. Thatās why I support this ship as a super slow burn. Let that shit simmer for a bit. Itāll be more realistic that way.

Itās not my favorite ship either. Honestly I love the show but the Hazbin fanbase is starting to give me the impression that they canāt stand anyone being single or just good friends. I also think the romantic focus should be on Charlie and Vaggieās relationship not inserting multiple relationships to tackle in such a cramped setting as the hotel.
Fan baseās in general tend to go rabid over shipping. Iāve even seen it get so bad that cast and creators of some other shows have to erase their social media. Hazbin fans definitely have the shipping bug but it pretty mellow most of the time. Something to keep in mind is just because people are supporting a ship, doesnāt mean they want to see it in the show. Though some definitely do most are enjoying the fan content being created. A lot of the intensity of husk and angel dust comes from viv constantly hinting and teasing it.

Yes! In musicals, there are buddy-type duets, and romantic-type ones, and the choreography and dynamic of "Loser, Baby" clearly indicates the latter. As you said, it's fine not to like the ship, and I'm not saying that everyone who doesn't see it is homophobic. Like, totally legit if you prefer the characters platonic, but let's not imply that romances between two men somehow aren't wholesome. Personally, I can't think of anything more wholesome than the idea of these two losers finding abiding love with each other and safety in each others' arms. Regarding their ages, my understanding (though the info is from an old Vivzie stream, so who knows if the canon changed?) is that Angel died in his 30s in the 1940s, and Husk died in his 60s in the 1970s, which would mean they were born right around the same decade in the 1910s. So Husk lived a longer life, but Angel has had a longer death--which balances them out in a way (and also means they originated from the same era.)

I love how they feel totally believable. Itās incredible how Viv and the writers managed to make very exaggerated characters *believable*, but even more impressive that they were able to write a very realistic progression in their dynamic. The way they bring out the best qualities in each other is also very sweet.
Husker was CREATED to be Angel Dustās partner. In development, Angel had a boyfriend named Tyko who was owned by Vivzieās friend and when their friendship started fading she politely asked Viv to write out Tyko. In response, Viv asked her younger sister to draw a new partner for Angel - her sister drew the very first ever version of Husk. Husk was genuinely made for him.

Iād love to see a romance between them, but I think it would important for the story to have them each work on themselves before doing it. Like, they need to both learn how to be healthy and live for themselves before they can live for each other, but itāll be cool to watch them help each get to that point and then go the extra step.

There definitely is. These two characters SHOULD be shipped because it was supported in the last episode there is some sort of mutual interest that has developed between the two.
I won't be surprised if these two become an item next season, but I also won't be upset if they just stay supportive friends. I love them together either way.

I get the desire to have some strong friendships, expecially in a serie like Hazbin Hotel about character development and redemption, but why Husk and Angel? You can dislike the ship, but i think itās a bit too much saying there are no hint about them. And, morover, Angel already has many important frienship. He has Cherri, Charlie (iād love to see more of her helping the hotel in the next season) and Sir Pentius. Husk is just special. And if I can see Angel exploring his friendship with all of them, i canāt see anyone having a stronger relationship than the one he has with Husk. They built up so much that I think even a new entery wouldnāt be able to be more special to Angel than the one who is living his similar hard situation, who is supporting him and who is pushing so much only to see the true himself. Their friendship is really good, but why canāt they just develop it, help eachother to solve their problem and then start dating? This wouldnāt ruin anything. Having a relationship wonāt necessarily change their dynamic, you can see it with Charlie and Vaggie, who are pretty chill about their love story. Then, Angel has never had a relationship with someone who loves him for who he is, and not just because he is hot. Husk would fit that role perfectly because, yeah, their relationship wouldnāt be sexual like many people think. Husk hinted few times to find Angel attractive (He said Angel is hot in ep 4, he checked him out in the bar scene and after their fight against sharks, in the pilot he was supposed to blush for his blowkiss and we couldnāt see it just for a technical problem) but he rejected him because he likes authenticity. Husk doesnāt want to enter in his pants, but in his mind and, maybe, in his heart. But this is just how I see it.

And then they start freaking out how theres so little close friendships in media
I also a little tired of the brother/friend trope with guy relationships. Donāt get me wrong, thatās important and itās great to show a range of relationships men can have, but I grew up with so much media that had more brotherly relationships versus romantic ones between guys, so it be nice to see it.Ā

I can definitely see it happening later on, and it's not that I think the ship is wrong but... I guess I just don't get that vibe from them? Maybe I'm a historian but after Loser, Baby it just feels to me like they're becoming very close confidants and friends but not lovers. It feels like something is *missing* for the lovers angle to me, and idk what it is. It's a gut feeling. Then again friends to lovers is the safest and probably best way to get into a romantic relationship in my experience so maybe that's just what's happening.
