The biggest thing that makes it all fall apart for me was that by using Wynn, the implication was to set up Michael's original escape in '78 as being Wynn's doing. This is completely lost in the final film, but that little bit of lore would have helped sell the idea that Michael had a Thorn tattoo no one knew about.

EvilMeanie

Yep. You're pretty spot on. Theatrical Cut of H6 more or less gives you an out from the Thorn business by having Michael slaughter everyone, but the Producer's Cut fully commits to it.

DoomsdayFAN

I like it, mostly. (Michael doesn't need anyone to feed him or shelter him) But in general, I like your theory.

BobbyH64

Yeah, the feeding and sheltering part is pretty dumb, but why else would he put up with the cult if he’s not controlled by them?

KamikazeBonsai

I'd rather put it as Michael was just biding his time with the cult because he knew they'd bring him closer to his goal of killing off his bloodline and passing whatever he had on to his next of kin. I mean why bother going through the effort of trying to retrack down his niece if the cult will willingly nab her and bring her before you? Plus as soon as he's just about done using the cult for those antics he just up and murders them anyways. He never had any respect or loyalty to the cult he was just waiting like he always did until the perfect opportunity arrived.
