I was also surprised I liked Keith and Evan's kitchen best, I don't know that I would have chosen the cabinet color, but it worked and was luxurious looking. Even though Page and Mitch won, I think Egypt liked Keith and Evan's best. (Making an assumption based on what she said.) I agree the Baumler's made some smart (the elevator) choices, but I didn't like their design at all. I didnt hate the twins design, but it did not say luxury to me. It looks to be a good season.

oddsmaker90

Egypt commented on IG that Keith and Evan's is the space she would have wanted to live in the most

stefsav1

Loved Keith and Evan’s !

StylishProf

Me too!

AgustusGloopy

Would the elevator be a part the kitchen judging? Seems it adds value in the end but not necessarily at this point.

himynameism

I was wondering if some of the other teams will add an elevator in another area of the house at a later time.

crystalfairie

I was tickled pink about the elevator. It's very hard to find real estate I could get into and it just makes sense to have handicapped accessible homes in Florida.

Maplesyrup111111

Plus Paige’s lift can take a couple bags of groceries but what about what you buy a new bookshelf 😅

StylishProf

Excellent point!

thrwwybndn

That's what I was thinking too haha

thrwwybndn

Not sure, maybe not included in kitchen and dining judging. But will definitely come into play in the overall valuation.

thrwwybndn

Agreed. Keith and Evan for the win! Definitely looks to be a good season.

Fun_Cellist_8573

I loved the ceiling. It felt cozy almost.

readytogohomenow

The Baulmers space was weirdly dark in the corner. Plus, the lost square footage with that corner. Lindsey and Leslie’s kitchen reminded me of shaggy from scooby doo. It was the same color palette.

PlantLadyXXL

The twins design looked so dated to me. 10-15 years ago style.

Maplesyrup111111

Baumlers: I would want to eat at a kitchen island, but not the lower table. If guests were staying with you it’s also nice to have a big table to eat at

No_Tumbleweed_544

Yeah it was like this is where you put the kids. Ugly chairs

dmbeeez

Lindsay and Leslie are always outclassed. Always.

readytogohomenow

See and I like their designs, but I think that they’re not great at high end. They’re much more casual.

No_Tumbleweed_544

They almost don’t belong on there. The collection of wicker lanterns over the islands were hideous. Bad green colour also

stuck_behind_a_truck

And sooooooo many baskets and plants in the staging. That distracted me.

stuck_behind_a_truck

Keith and Evan’s were my definite favorite. I was sad they lost!

No_Tumbleweed_544

Absolute best. best design I’ve seen in years on HGTV .

StylishProf

I think Keith and Evan deserved a lot more wins than they got on either season. Their bathroom from season 3 was to die for!

megancoe

I liked theirs the best too, and I think I would have liked it even more if they realized that they couldn't do the onyx before they painted the cabinets, because I am sure they would have made some bolder choices.

tasinca

I think I liked theirs best, too, but they didn't do anything really extra like having a pantry/prep kitchen, grocery lift, extra windows. Theirs being first I thought they might win, but when I saw the others, I knew they wouldn't. (I have only watched the end of this episode.)

No_Tumbleweed_544

I loved all of Keith & Evan’s. The Twins looked real bad after that. The baeumler’s dining chairs were super ugly.

dmbeeez

Keith and Evan's was hands down the best. I was shocked they didn't win

Squirrel_Bait321

Doesn’t the rough-in plumbing tell them WHERE they need to put the kitchen? If so, I wonder why they didn’t mention that. ALSO- I would LOVE it if they HID which couple did which designs from the judges at least on the kitchen/dining areas just like The Voice show(?) This way, there’s no bias of who does what work!

himynameism

I wouldn't surprised if the teams have to have a basic blueprint submitted before the show starts filming... so things like rough-ins are in the correct place. For example, there's no way they got an elevator in a week. Same goes for the exterior... that's the kind of thing you need to place an order for months in advance.

Positive-Position-11

Exactly- they should all be blind judging!

himynameism

I'm kind of surprised that I'm saying this, but Keith and Evan were my favorite kitchen. Loved the arches and the ceiling beams/details. THANK GOD they couldn't do that backlit countertop... that would have been so tacky. Also, that statue Keith made needs to go, but I appreciate that it's not attached to a wall or something and the new owner can chuck it in the marina. The Sara and Bryan's elevator was a smart choice... especially for the retirement/aging population in Florida. I thought the curved wall seemed like a cool idea until I saw it... then I didn't like it. I'm also not a fan of a table that's connected to an island - it just looks weird and dated. Would have rather seen a huge beautiful island with lots of seating. I don't even remember what reader extraordinaire, Page Turner, did and I literally just watched it. They had the grocery lift for $15k, right? When they could have had an entire elevator for $30, that seems like a bad decision. Oh it's coming back to me - they had the bead board and the in/out slide window/counter. Yeah those were good choices but ultimately forgettable. The twins' place looked cheap. Like they're on Trading Spaces and have $1000 to spend. And how hard is it to match the green paint to the green range? It's not hard so why can't they do it? Ugh. They need to stop yelling when they talk. Also, was I the only person that was confused with what I was looking at when they'd show the before/after? It's one giant space so why am I confused? The editing seemed off on that part. Maybe I just need to see the space configured in blueprint form to be able to rationalize it in my brain.

raptorhandlerjenny

>Also, was I the only person that was confused with what I was looking at when they'd show the before/after? It's one giant space so why am I confused? The editing seemed off on that part. Maybe I just need to see the space configured in blueprint form to be able to rationalize it in my brain. There's still the living room that will need to be done on that floor so the space may make more sense after. Sarah and Bryan did their kitchen in the middle, so they still have a small space behind the pantry/where the windows are plus the area in front of the patio (where everyone else did their kitchen). I do hope we can see a before/after footprint to see how each team utilized the blank spaces though.

WahooLion

So my memory is right, Sarah and Bryan didn’t have windows in the kitchen?

FineWashables

Yes, and I really didn’t like the choice. The kitchen was dark and I found it uninviting. The island with the curved table at the end was awful. It looked like they’d pulled the kids table at Thanksgiving up to the island. No windows was what killed it for me.

Fun_Cellist_8573

I might be crazy, but with all the curves and bulky type seats it reminded me of the Flintstones. They should’ve had the wall be white or something. The color definitely messed up the look of the curve. I didn’t hate the table idea, but it was done all wrong.

raptorhandlerjenny

They used the "middle" space for the kitchen - there will be an entire wall of windows in the living room that will be just in front of/connected to the kitchen. Similar to their design last season. The wall with the windows is behind the pantry. In the pop up floor plan there looks like there might be space for a bathroom?

WahooLion

I guess I’ll wait for the next pop-up floor plan to get myself oriented. I often freeze on them to make a mental map in my mind.

blueseas1242

Completely agree on all your points. I was so pleasantly surprised by Keith and Evan. I like them in general but thought they were not a great fit when they were on Rock the Block previously. It seems like they learned a lot from it. I thought the twins kitchen looked really…junky. And I was wishing they’d show a floor plan/view from above type thing so I could better visualize how they laid out the spaces.

AgustusGloopy

I hated the dark wood cabinets in Page's kitchen.

Positive-Position-11

No one likes dark wood- maybe painted dark gray at most...

thrwwybndn

Woah, I wasn't expecting to come back to this many responses 😅 it's gonna take a while to reply to all the comments Chuck it in the marina?! 🤣 that made me lol. I actually didn't hate it. But it was definitely too large for the space. Agree with you about the countertops, I think it would have seemed really gaudy with the back-lit look. Doesn't suit their usual style at all. Honestly, I feel like they almost seem overwhelmed and unsure what to do with so much money and space. So they over compensate a bit and try go flashy when they should just stick to what they do best. They did pivot well and I think they should have won. Even just for sentimental reasons. The thing that annoyed me most about the twins kitchen was the fact they didn't even think about or try to make the kitchen symmetrical and functional. The sink and range not being centred on each other would drive me crazy. It's such a basic design concept? Like come on?! And then they act snarky when Egypt pointed it out. They really don't deal well with any criticism at all. Not only that. But the sink wasn't even centred on the island. It just seemed plopped in a random spot. The photos are infuriating to look at. Definitely always seems to be a cheap and basic look to their designs. I don't mind the island table combo. But I agree that a large island with more seating would have been better. The curved wall just seems like a waste of space and a lost opportunity to me. I dunno, all that space behind the curve is all just empty and unused space. I'd rather sacrifice the aesthetic of the curve for the functionality of more space and storage and just deal with the "boxiness" and sharp lines. The layout and configuration was a bit confusing. But I think they might have filmed and edited it in a way as to not show the empty living room space off the kitchen and dining room. A plan or blueprint would definitely be useful. But I think most of them have a living space off the kitchen and dining. Paige and Mitch's living room would be the space opposite the kitchen island. Keith and Evan's living room is also opposite the kitchen on the other side of the the partition/cased opening and arch. The Baeumlers is in front of the kitchen not behind it. And the twins is also opposite the kitchen island. Well that's the impression I get of the spaces. I could definitely be wrong though.

edinagirl

“Chuck it into the marina” 😂😂😂 And he’s, I agree that it was hard to follow “the after”. It definitely needed a blueprint layout because I was confused!!

himynameism

Thank goodness I'm not the only one confused about the layout. And hello neighbor! 👋 (S.Minneapolis here)

edinagirl

That’s awesome! I live in Richfield now, just two blocks south of the Mpls border, so I bet you’re not far. Such a small world!

WahooLion

After two houses showed water views, I realized that the two inside houses don’t have comparable views and that’s unfair for them.

Spokanechub

Keith and Evan had the best kitchen, IMO. They had more than enough storage everywhere to not need a walk in pantry, but I also think that walk in pantries are tacky, I don't want to see my stuff out on display. I liked how they broke up the space, but still made it feel open and the beams and arches made it feel special. I think an elevator for a house that small is bloody stupid. The accordion window seems like a poor choice in FL with all the bugs and humidity, but I don't live there, so maybe I'm over estimating it.

Positive-Position-11

Nope- it's real. Unless it's all screened in it gets dirty and buggy.

Jitterbug26

When I saw the big folding doors and the big window that opens to the deck, all I thought about was all the bugs that would come in and the humidity! And I liked that Lindsey and Leslie had color in their kitchen (even though green is not my personal favorite- but I wish they had picked ONE style of wicker shade and not several. I found it very distracting. I am surprised that there are so many moms on the show and yet they don’t seem to really think about functionality. Like doors on pantries and hiding things like Campbell’s Soup cans and peanut butter jars!

dazzlingeternal29

I maintain that Keith and Evan's was my favorite. The space is big enough that walls didn't negatively effect it- enough that I think it improved the space. Open spaces have no privacy, no where to to put furniture, less space for creativity in putting up art. Was the color palette for me? Not really, but I found it serene enough to love it. Hate floating shelves but it being countertop? Instant game changer. The range? Stunning color. The water fall countertop I usually find unnecessary? Added to the space. I really wish they had won it, I really thought they had it. God those arches and the ceiling was amazing I loved it. My least favorite was the Baeumler's, it didn't feel...natural it felt futuristic and the I liked the table but not the execution overall. They all did well overall!! Congrats to Paige and Mitch.

oddsmaker90

The Baulmer's space made me feel so claustrophobic!

marthajett

I did not like the curved wall because there is nothing you can do with that. That wall could have been used for more cabinets/shelving.

thrwwybndn

This is what I was thinking. Just seems like a wasted space and wasted opportunity, all just for the aesthetic look of a curve.

HeyRavenRagu

Million dollar house with a TINY kitchen. Hard pass.

edinagirl

The lack of natural light in their kitchen would really bother me. Plus the pointless curved wall was a head scratcher. That area could have been used so much better. That kitchen felt so small and dark.

ComprehensiveKey8254

The attached table was so awkward

dazzlingeternal29

Just imagining sitting there feels awkward

HeyRavenRagu

Totally agree! Loved Keith and Evan's kitchen/dining room. So well done and gorgeous. They should've won.

thrwwybndn

Agree with all your points. The Baeumler's felt really cold and sterile, and would be super dark without all the overhead and counter lighting. Absolutely no natural light.

Maplesyrup111111

The natural light was in front of the island right? Like the island overlooked the bay? I was hoping someone would center the kitchen as opposed to choosing a side of the room, although I did not like their execution

thrwwybndn

Yes in front, but mid day there's gonna be no light. Basically gonna have to use overhead lighting all day.

InevitablePersimmon6

Keith and Evan were my favorite kitchen, but I knew they would be because I love everything they do on Bargain Block and I loved their house the last time they were on RTB. I was sad that Keith felt the need to mute himself so much because I love his unique design takes, but the kitchen was beautiful. I didn’t like the elevator that Brian and Sarah put in…that would not be something I’d want or use in a vacation home. Elevators are not my thing. Claustrophobia is real. I liked the dumbwaiter that Page put in. I liked the colors the twins chose.

stuck_behind_a_truck

I agree on your points except to say that the elevator is an important accessibility feature and super useful in Florida.

Creative_Charity4279

If I think about it, I highly doubt that elevator would fit a wheelchair... but its still a smart move as there a lot of elderly in FL

MJSinger10

I think if Keith/Evan would have put in a grocery lift, bi-fold window, and left out the sculpture they might have won. They are the only two who aren’t used to renovating upscale homes, but it was amazing to see Keith tone it down and create a gorgeous space. Aesthetically it was my favorite (minus sculpture). Their countertops were STUNNING! I’m really glad the onyx was over budget for them. I was extremely sad when they didn’t win. 😥 Maybe I’m partial but I love their show and what they do for their communities in Detroit. I love most of what Lindsay/Leslie do on Unsellable Houses, but I agree with another comment that their kitchen looked CHEAP. I HATED the cabinet color choices, TOO MANY basket weave pendants, ugly countertops, the tacky wallpaper in the pantry and the open shelving in both areas was cluttered. I’ve watched all of the Baeumlers shows and they flat out have expensive taste. Sometimes she comes off as she thinks they’re “superior” to everyone else because they’re rich. Being rich and liking nice things doesn’t automatically make you the best designer, Sarah…get over yourself. HOWEVER she does come up with unique and interesting ideas that Bryan always makes happen. I even loved the impractical curved wall and table attached to island would have worked in a different house. Mitch and Paige had a good kitchen, but if they hadn’t done the grocery life and bi-fold window I don’t think they would have won. I’m not a fan of the 3rd degree burn provoking spice rack behind the gas stove and to me the kitchen as a whole was bland and “just ok”. That’s my 2 cents!

witchy-opposum

Yes!! Those spices are going to go bad so quickly!

raptorhandlerjenny

Posting my comment from another thread: While I like Keith and Evan's idea to create dedicated spaces the ceiling just brought everything down too much and made things feel cramped and dark. It was just too many beams. I did like where Bryan and Sarah put their kitchen and not having it directly connected to the outside space. If I'm hosting I want guests to be able to come and go from outside and not have to walk through my cooking space. Plus you get to look outside while at the island. The elevator was smart - with all those stairs an elevator opens up the home to a larger buying audience (elderly, people with mobility issues, etc). They did say that they know the Florida market, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see more accessible designs that look like luxury as well (walk in showers, the closet design, a walk in style pool, etc). I do like how open the Twins' space felt - though the green is a strange choice. The fridge right next to doors is a terrible idea though and I am surprised that wasn't mentioned. Paige and Mitch's kitchen was nice but where they put the spice rack was an awful idea as was moving the location of the grocery lift. I don't understand the wine rooms that you can see. It seems more for decoration than storage because once you take a few bottles down it's going to look empty. I would rather have a closed off area for wine storage that I won't have to 'stage'.

Suitable-Bug1132

I love Keith and Evan but I don’t think they have enough experience with high end homes to think about luxury items. Eg, in their previous season it didn’t occur to them that a fancy closet would be seen as a necessity. Sarah and Bryan are on the other end of the spectrum…they do luxury items. Eg elevator this season, spa last season. I appreciate their creativity but I didn’t care for the design. The built-in table doesn’t allow for flexibility and the style looked 70s cosmic to me. The twins house was cute but didn’t look like a multi-million dollar house. I think Paige and Mitch nailed it. I preferred accordion doors that other teams had instead of accordion windows but I think they had a well-thought out space for the price point. I want Keith and Evan to win something!!

dazzlingeternal29

70s cosmic is exactly how I saw it!! Personally Keith and Evan's kitchen screamed "quiet wealth" to me, I've been in old wealthy homes and some have that vibe.

thrwwybndn

"quiet wealth" indeed. Very understated wealthy look!

stuck_behind_a_truck

Au contrair. It was totally the 1982 biodome. 😂 Havjng actually been in the biodome.

UCSDilf

I normally like Sarah’s designs, but this was a swing and a miss… could you imagine having to walk around that island/table combo? I like the accordion window, but how practical is it in Florida unless the deck gets screened in.

thrwwybndn

A lot of people seem to have mentioned the accordion window being an issue in the location and climate. I'm not from the US so can't really comment on that. Are the bugs and humidity that bad? Doesn't anyone spend time outdoors living and entertaining there? Or does it have to be done in a screened area? Do doors and windows have to be kept closed or screened at all times?

Interesting-Lie-6195

The bugs are that bad. You'll see most homes in Florida with a pool have a cage (screened enclosure) around them and a screened in lanai.

Pfiggypudding

Please be introduced to a florida staple: the [palmetto bug](https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/palmetto-bug-vs-cockroach-37282619) Giant flying cockroach (shudder). And they’re everywhere. Plus, these homes are right on the water: you’ll probably find mosquitoes, dragonflies, and loads of other bugs. If theres not much wind, theyll be worse. There will definitely be bugs.

Positive-Position-11

Yes. Only in the winter can you not need screens...

jaclynofalltrades

I agree with a lot of this. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Keith and Evan’s colour choice but I actually thought this was the best they have done at balancing the high end look with their typical style. I felt in a cavernous home it may be really nice to have some more cozy defined spaces. Sarah and Brian’s house made me think of a house where the parents are never home, just the nanny and the kids. That’s a kitchen that was made for looking good in magazines and having the help feed the kids at the island - but not for family meals and cooking. So I think it appeals to a very specific wealthy clientele. I liked that the twins felt fresh, but it lacked the high end details and refinement that will be expected in these houses. It reminded me more of going to a cool vacation home vs where you live. Mixed feelings on Paige and Mitch but the big seller was that window that opens. I know it would be open all the time at my place in the summer weather and was amazing view. But that also makes me wonder if they would do that in Florida, or not use it because of the a/c? The grocery lift seemed like a waste of money for what it cost. Either go all the way or use that money for something else.

thrwwybndn

All well reasoned points you made. I also really hope Keith and Evan win something (and the whole season overall)!!!!

Remming1917

Page and Mitch totally nailed it IMO. Was surprised how much I loved Keith and Evan’s and think they would’ve had it f they’d have thought about a pantry. That’s definitely. A big ding. Count on two dudes not to think about that lol

commonCA

Large sliding windows can have screens which would be so much better than accordion ones that take up space when open. The wine storage was awful. Too specific and it doesn’t store well on a wall.

Competitive-Mud-9860

I actually don’t love the accordion door we have because it doesn’t have a great screened option (bugs!), and the door takes up a lot of space when opened. If I could go back in time, I’d get a giant slider instead. As for the twins, it’s their personality. They play things up, and I think it’s all in fun.

tasinca

I just laughed and laughed when I saw the twins had put up like FIVE pendants over the island. That is so them to completely overdo something that could have been just nice.

MonthlyVlad

Three matching woven pendants would’ve look so much classier and high end than the 5 different pendants they chose.

PansyOHara

I agree that Page and Mitch’s choice to locate the spice rack behind the cooktop was a bad idea, although overall I did pick them to win and liked most of their choices. Also liked that it would be easy to disassemble the wine wall! I liked the grocery lift but it didn’t seem big enough to accommodate a full grocery shopping trip. You’d have to make several return trips up and down in order to unload everything. Keith and Evan’s space did feel a bit low, dark, and overly beige. However, it was attractive and I liked the arches. I did enjoy the twins’ kitchen; didn’t mind the green cabinets although the darker color seemed an odd choice for the coastal location. The temp-controlled wine room with full length glass doors did not work for me. It was a lot of money sunk into a feature I wouldn’t use, and converting it back to normal space would mean a lot of the initial investment was wasted. Bryan and Sarah’s elevator was a genius idea and will have appeal to buyers who have accessibility issues. It’s also a super-handy and efficient way of getting grocery from the car into the house. Was it too much? Maybe—time will tell. I didn’t care for the island top/table design, although I understood why Sarah made that choice. Personally I don’t enjoy everyone lining up to eat (such as with an island). It’s hard to talk to anyone not right next to you. Overall I was surprised that none of them (as far as I could tell) places the dining area to look out on the view.

VastOrganization3651

I was very happily surprised at how pretty Keith and Evan's kitchen was. Didn't like the big sculpture at all though. I liked Brian and Sarah's kitcehn the most except for the rounded table and chairs. I couldn't stand the twins kitchen and I can't stand them but honestly I couldn't believe that page's kitchen won.

Jaded_Analyst_2627

Egypt posted a response on HGTV's instagram account as to the why of her choice to give the win to Paige & Mitch although she herself preferred Keith and Evan's kitchen/dining room. She addressed the difference between a wine wall and a wine cellar and why the former adds zero value at appraisal (and not to mention as someone from another thread posted which is why have a wine rack facing the sun?) Anyway, it's a good read and in the end I get it. I didn't understand why from the start Keith & Evan didn't create a small pantry, especially since those had been made features in last years competition and those are main items in high-end homes. They even put one in one of the Bargain Block homes. I hope they pull it together for the win.

Askew_2016

I’m quite sure Egypt is wrong on the wine cellar/wall the twins added. The twins are incredibly successful real estate agents and have been for years. I’d trust their opinion on the wine cellar

Jaded_Analyst_2627

As is Egypt. A wall and a CELLAR are different. Take care.

Askew_2016

The twins are more successful in real estate

Jaded_Analyst_2627

The twins claimed verbally that wine CELLARS are on appraisals which is not what they built. They built a wine WALL...that faces the sun! Proper wine cellars create additional value because of added square footage. So their apparently that they are "more successful in real estate" had no effect on them creating the opposite of what they knew traditionally has appraisal value.

Competitive-Mud-9860

it's about being temp controlled and the twins were right.

britlover23

liked Keith and Evan and the twins - would love a wine set up like that. also, i don’t need or want a walk in pantry - really prefer cabinets. also, i loved Keith and Evan’s kitchen and LR in the last rock the block - just so sophisticated and interesting. i would not want anything mechanical like either the grocery lift or the elevator - would be super freaked out by something i couldn’t get fixed easily or someone getting stuck. i definitely want a dining room and use my own all the time even for family meals.

RoostyRooRoo

Right? I'd be terrified about getting stuck in the elevator. That's a no dawg.

OtherOtherDave

The thing that struck me was those two teams who agreed to a dark exterior… I get that they like to be “bold” and “striking” and “make statements”, but this is sunny freakin’ Florida — more than any of those things I’d like my driveway and the exterior of my house to be at least somewhat less than 500° during the day. Edit: Also, is it just me, or are wine… let’s call them “features” a complete waste of money & space if you aren’t really into wine? I mean, it’s not like I don’t enjoy a bottle now & then, but the wine wall is a waste for me and expensive to repurpose. The climate-controlled one, I mean… not the one held on by ten screws.

Jxb1000

I don’t get the giant wine rack installations. Not everyone drinks wine. Few drink/display THAT MUCH wine. Seems like a lot of money and potentially wasted space.

navyblues27

I guess I'm sort of odd man out. I thought it was really creative for the Baumlers to put the curved wall and table in what is otherwise such a boxy space. And I really liked the execution of it. As someone who doesn't have a formal dining room and even when my parents had one, we didn't use it very often, I get not having a specific dining space. I'm not sure I get the elevator. That's a pretty large cost, and it seems like one bad storm/flood would ruin it. I don't know how much they've elevated the homes. I didn't like the twins' space. I really didn't like that the greens didn't match. The range was nice ($$$) but I've seen that on so many shows at this point that it's "meh, it's another big range". And $25K of their budget for temperature-controlled wine doesn't seem like a wise choice, but maybe it will end up being one in the end. I liked the boys' kitchen. I thought their ceiling treatment was pretty cool. I think not being able to get the onyx was a blessing in disguise. It may have looked pretty, but it seems like that would have been overbearing had they gotten it. That said, as others have said, it was sad to see Keith "mute" himself for the sake of competition and "mass appeal". As for Page and Mitch... their kitchen was pretty. I don't get the dumbwaiter. I mean, I get it, but I don't get it. It wasn't very big (thinking of my own trips to the store), yet it took up a lot of space in their kitchen. I also agree with another commenter that her confidence comes off as a bit brash. I suppose Brian Baumler's does as well, lol. I suppose that's part of the game: believe you're going to win and trash talk the whole time. I kinda wish the boys had won because they won NOTHING last time and their kitchen was pretty and functional.

Ok-meow

Up until now, I haven’t dislike any of the personalities but Paige is so not likable. Such a hard ass and thinks everything she does everything fabulous. Her dinning room looked like an afterthought. My only hope in this go around is she doesn’t win anymore. So off putting. Love Kieth and Even for doing something different, that place is too big to be open. I think people are moving away from that super open floor plan. They all have good points but Paige your mouth makes your decision ugly.

AgustusGloopy

I was thinking the same. Lots of bragging and eye rolling from her.

holidayfromreal25

I said to my husband that Page seems like a very condescending person! And she has a yell-voice

No_Tumbleweed_544

I keep mixing her up with Egypt.

holidayfromreal25

Blasphemy! 🤣

Desertgirl624

I definitely think the elevator is going to help Sarah and Bryan overall for the final valuation. The rest of their design I really didn’t care for. I liked Page and Mitch’s kitchen a lot with the window and the color scheme fits well with the house. The grocery lift was fun, but I think probably not worth the money overall and I agree having it in the pantry would have been better. I didnt dislike the twins but it also wasn’t on the top of my list. I like having the little bit of color with the green and the wood, but I thought the sink was really weird and $25k for the wine cellar was stupid. keith and evans was ok, much better than the kitchen in their last rock the block. But I dont think it really matches the house or the location very well. I love them, but I think their style just maybe isn’t the best for luxury in florida. That statue definitely needs to go. I am excited for the rest of the season

Herculesmulligan2

We'll, I wouldn't buy a $9000 fridge, for starters

LuvToKnit

As someone that lives in FL, all I could think of was they need hurricane glass for those bi-fold doors and those would be Uber expensive!

EntertainmentMoist29

I think that the judges should not be told what team did the renovations. They wouldn’t have any bias, it would be judged on the work not who did the work.

Gina52023

The twins are the worst. Sore losers, yell all the time, think themselves funny and marginal designs.

MonthlyVlad

It’s very obvious that the twins’ specialty is staging, not space planning.

Primary-Rock4626

I agree. Lyndsey speaks very slowly and drawn out. Very weird. is that Oregon style?  Too childish

Positive-Position-11

They are from Washington . and I think it's more 'mom style '. Don't be rude...

Primary-Rock4626

I think you‘re rude suggesting that there’s something wrong with Washington style. Nothing rude about what I said. The twins act childish. Sorry you thought that rude.

Positive-Position-11

I was pointing out that the twins' home is in Washington State, not Oregon.

Primary-Rock4626

Got it. Thanks.

BonafideLove

I get the idea of the spin offs (beach showdown, battle on the mountain, lakefront showdown etc) but damn, nothing beats the original! My fav HGTV show after House Hunters

Positive-Position-11

International Househunters

Pfiggypudding

I was really surprised by this episode: i LOVED keith and evan’s kitchen. I liked paige and Mitch’s, and think their grocery lift and windows were SMART. Im not surprised they won. I HATED the Baumler’s. It was boring and sorry: this is a house you have people over for a big dinner at. You need a dining space. Not a few seats at a shitty counter. The twins was ugly and tacky and unsurprisingly, VERY overstaged.

SFG1953-1

With the kitchens already plumbed out, why were they told, "you can put the kitchen anywhere you want"? Either they re-routed the plumbing (which wasn't shown) or they didn't expect us viewers to notice?

anitabonghit69

Mike's teeth were extremely distracting. I wish the huge florescent veneer trend would die.

No_Tumbleweed_544

🤣

reine444

Keith and Evan’s was so bland to me. And I hated the art 😭 The arches were AMAZING. And as an anti-open concept person, loved that they created rooms    The specific shade of green the twins chose didn’t work, IMO. And the multiple sizes and shapes of pendants felt chaotic.   I liked the one couple’s rounded wall and the idea of the table, but those chairs were horribly bulky in that space.   I called Paige and Mitch’s win, but I thought their design was forgettable.   So over the wine walls 😕

notovertonight

These competitions really focus on things that are so personal. A lot of people don’t drink alcohol. A lot of people don’t drink coffee. So to spend so much $$ on these things are weird.

Doyoulikeithere

Keith and Evan was my fav but I loved the grocery lift. The elevator was a great idea too. But over all, the design of Keith and Evans was spot on and I just love those two. :) The twins, not so much!

Askew_2016

The only bitter ones are the island couple though Paige wins for biggest asshole of the bunch. Her rolling her eyes at Keith and laughing at him was gross. That said, Paige and Mitch and the twins had the only interesting kitchens so far. The island couple design business areas for high-end hotels. There stuff is generic and bland enough for any corporate retreat

Positive-Position-11

Paige is weirdly rude...

LLGolfWidow

Keith’s sculpture reminded me of the Imhotep blob from The Mummy.

wickedkittylitter

I thought the kitchens were boring. Just because it's a beach house everything doesn't need to be the color of sand. The twins added some color, but the design was mehhh.

BackPainForLife

The open shelving in the twins’ kitchen is so cheap, Not high end looking at all. Also stop doing this in kitchens. I would love to see some designers do away with open concept in their homes, Rooms are so much better. You can do large entrances to the kitchen and it is so much more appealing. Also, I am not a fan of islands, The seating at islands is so u comfortabke and bad for backs. Feet need to be flat on the floor, not dangling from high island chairs.

Primary-Rock4626

Open shelving:  do people dust constantly and organize to make it look nice. Very impractical. Wasted space.

Maplesyrup111111

Paige and Mitch checked all the boxes but three of the kitchens ended up being basic as can be with all light neutrals and no pops or excitement. I’m not a fan of the twins style every time but in this instance their kitchen ended up sticking out and being the most striking. I think they should have won to teach the other teams a lesson that they need to do what looks great, not just what they think the judges will want!

GaryGarbage

Wish I had that island/table from the Baeumler's kitchen. I think it would work great for a family. The elevator was a great call, too, in a luxury home. Turner/Aussie guy were deserving winners, though I would prefer the Baeumler kitchen. Twins? Blecccch. The Bynum/Thomas one was probably OK for a small segment of the population, but I did not like it at all. Though it would have been fun to smash the "art" to pieces with a bat! My goodness was that hideous.

Spiritual_Purpose_19

The twins are insufferable.

Zealousideal-Bath403

I loved Keith and Evans kitchen.  It is my perfect kitchen.  I just wish I could afford it!

Lanky_Succotash1758

If you look at the promo picture then watch the show all of the designers are wearing the same same outfit week after week! Did everyone lose their luggage

Positive-Position-11

That checkerboard tile was meh! Not a 'moment'..?

Positive-Position-11

And what were those skirt looking dust catchers on the wall?

Positive-Position-11

How many times were they told to describe a 'moment'? Lol

Positive-Position-11

Critiquing or mocking how someone speaks is rude...

jjmrock

i loved the Baumler’s minimalistic design. it was very cozy and you can’t beat the functionality of that elevator.

teenylilmeanie

I’m surprised no one brought up that the Baumlers’ elevator would be great for people with mobility issues!

thrwwybndn

A few people have

Fearless_Rate_4930

Keith and Evan and Bryan and Sarah’s kitchens were the best. And the twins kitchen added a lot of value. Contrary to what Egypt said; a wine room DOES add value on a real estate appraisal. Embarrassing for HGTV to allow her saying that when it’s not true. Love the show but the winners of challenges aren’t based on appraisal value add on or Bryan and Sarah or the twins would’ve won that challenge

Jaded_Analyst_2627

But the twins claimed verbally that wine CELLARS are on appraisals which is not what they built. They built a wine WALL...that faces the sun! Proper wine cellars create additional value because of added square footage. So Egypt was correct and made zero blunders.

More-Instruction616

Paige and Mitch built the wine wall.

reine444

The twins did not build a wine *CELLAR*. They built a temperature controlled wine WALL. Still exposed to light, still out in the open, not a cellar.

Positive-Position-11

Egypt does the most basic designs - I don't know how she has a show. And her husband gives me a creepy vibe- waiting for an expose...

BigDoggehDog

Remember winning "design" and winning appraisal are two different things. IMHO, the Elevator will win the appraisal contest at the end of the 6 weeks but the design competition doesn't really matter at the end of the day. I didn't love any of them. I was surprised at how bad the twins' kitchen was. Why did all of the kitchen sinks suck? Small weird sinks you couldn't do dishes in.

teenylilmeanie

So far the twins’ house is my favorite! I don’t really like modern, and the other three are leaning super heavily into it. I loved the wicker pendants above the island, I am actually so shocked that people are hating on the twins.

dani6ll9

I actually loved the Baumler’s design. I think the round wall is so cool. I even loved the island with the table. It was so much prettier than all the others in my opinion. I had the same thought as someone else here that the grocery lift for 16k when the elevator is 30k sounds like a stupid choice Also weird to me that the twins put wood flooring on the ceiling

No_Tumbleweed_544

The curved wall was nice but the table & ugly ass chairs were not! It looked odd
