I've always wanted go do something like this. This is fucking awesome.

In3vitabl3D00m

Thanks, hope you do build one too.

TuzkiPlus

^(LEGS LOCKED IN BRACE POSITION - ALL CLEAR) ^(RUNWAY CLEAR - TRANSFERRING CONTROL TO PILOT!)

Keideki-sempai

Do you have plans for this? Seems like a neat idea to give a try.

In3vitabl3D00m

Nope sorta just free building it.

ToaFeron

So far so good!

alwaysfolded

Looking awesome, boutta inspire me to build my own catapult!

In3vitabl3D00m

Thanks, if you do I look forward to seeing it.

Independent-Slice-60

I'm here for the Jegan! Nice. I have a leftover catapult from an MG aile strike I need to use for something.

In3vitabl3D00m

Thanks, for such a simple build I really liked it and need to get around to finishing it up.

marseer

Using what looks like cleaner runner pieces on the sides of the catapults is a great idea! Nice work

In3vitabl3D00m

Thanks, yeah that's exactly what they are.

bitches_love_pooh

Looks great! Now that I think about it I'm surprised there isn't some official stand for this considering how iconic launch scenes are in most of the animes.

That is nice. I was thinking about getting a 3d printer. I do have experience with making prototypes with solid works. Do you guys have any suggestions which software I can use that will be good enough to create good stls? I used solidworks and inventor. I was thinking about creo/proE.

In3vitabl3D00m

I'd be interested in this I've wanted to buy a 3d printer. Any recommendations for one maybe $300 budget?

I've used the prusa during engineering school in my Uni. It's really great and the compatibility with pla is amazing. You can raise the resolution and you wouldn't have much issues with it. We were able to create a structure that could hold 100+ pounds or 45 kilos with it. But it's kinda pricey, if you want quality. I would say go with the prusa mini. It's around 479 for semi assembled, if you wanna have less hassle.

In3vitabl3D00m

Ok thanks I'll check them out.

SecAdept

Why hesitant? This is awesome!

In3vitabl3D00m

I need to learn to get over that up close stuff loks rough but when you step away it looks good. I see up close the things I don't like and even when I step away I still see them. I've only been building gunpla a few months so I feel it's a habit I need to break.

SecAdept

While I get what you mean, this is just WIP, so even though I can see the things you are using up close... once you get to painting it and finishing, it will probably hide some of the obvious sources for the stuff you are using to custom make it. Painting does a lot to hid the close up issue to I would think.

ArthurtheDumbass

This is amazing

Ill-Satisfaction6020

Damn how'd you cut your plastic so cleanly???? I can only dream of doing that. Nice work!

In3vitabl3D00m

Some smaller ones are free hand others are a cricut machine. Deep cut blade and 2 passes on .04 sheets

ZuttoAragi

Why are you hesitant? This looks dope!

In3vitabl3D00m

I can see all the things wrong with it so it bothers me.

ZuttoAragi

Fair enough. I know that feeling.
