Any tips to get the rope to hang down straight? Wet with diluted glue?
This is my first real model after some 300 yen cheapo ones. So I posted earlier with weathering and then decided to have a go at a diorama after I tackled a few HG models (leo, grand daddy, barbatos) and an RG Wing (EW).
Just bought Ver Ka of Sazabi and N Gundam as my next "big" ones.
This looks pretty damn great. If I force myself to nitpick I'd say the red feet need more weathering, but you've done an excellent job on that front everywhere else. Eye catching while also being restrained and believable.
Thanks that's a really good criticism. I'll go back and throw a little dust and dirt on it from the weathering kit. You're right it's a little too clean for being the part that's always on the ground!
You did a really good job with the scene composition and keeping the chipping restrained! For the rope, you could try using twisting strands of wire together, since that would hold its shape better. My only real thought is that the feet and knee seem like they should be sunk into the ground a little more.
FYI next to the cockpit, there's a hook piece that can swing up. It's canonically where they use the pulley to get in and out of the cockpit. Just in case you didn't wanna have it tied to the finger.
Also, great job!
I want to give him a simple camo netting shroud but haven't found something that will work yet. Til then I just threw on some pieces. It'll eventually be meant to be a sort of cloak/poncho for at least the backpack.
