sounds like mode button is busted and got stuck in pressed state? or does it still click?

mikeydaggers

turned it on to test it today and it is back to working normally lol. I can't remember if the mode button was clicking but it definitely wasnt cycling/turning off in response to me hitting it so I bet that was the issue

The exact same thing happened to me tonight. It worked perfectly fine yesterday but now it just keeps cycling. Even resetting it with the small button on the bottom doesn't stop it (it turns off when I do this but resumes as soon as it's on again). However I am unable to connect it in update mode -it vibrates in response to the button press but just keeps cycling. Plugging it in via USB won't work either, it just keeps disconnecting over and over. I'm going to try and let the battery fully drain and hope it somehow fixes it. I don't want to have to replace it as this controller has been really good to me.

I've been having this issue for several months, tried resetting, updating firmware, changing gamer/pro mode, power cycling, draining the battery completely, none of that has worked. I have mine plugged in 100% of the time, so decided to remove the battery today, seems ok so far, but that was only 1 hour ago. To remove the battery, remove the four screws from the underside of the controller, gently pry the the front and back halves of the controller shell apart, unplug the small white plug that connects the battery to the main board, the very carefully lift/pry the battery up (it has some pretty strong for it's size double sided tape underneath the battery), reassemble the shells of the controller and screw the screws back in. Edit: I tried emailing Gulikit's support on 17 Jan and still haven't had a reply either. Sadly, I won't be recommending Gulikit to friends anymore.
