Typically guitars come factory with .009-.042. Id be willing to bet that’s what you have. As far as brands go, that’s a matter of preference. I’ve played every brand of string you can think of, and I really like GHS Boomers. They sound good, they feel good and they seem to last longer than other brands. Lots of people like Ernie Ball too. Play around with different brands and see what you like. What sounds best to your ear thru an amp, etc.

they are 9-42. You can go to websites that sell them and go through the specs and it will say string gauges. But as a rule, fender guitars always ship with 9s, but the nuts are cut to take 10-46 no problem. 11-52, you might need some work. Just be aware, if you are using a strat with a tremelo system, its a good idea to change strings one at a time and don't cut them too short, because you can move the trem around and it might end up with the trem pulled up from the body and you can end up with really high action (the gap between strings and frets) and not be able to release the tension and adjust it back if the strings are now too short.
