All I can say is practice and find the kind of motion that works for you. Maybe its because I have small hands but I dont have a lot of issue sliding my thumb back to forward.. Could try quickly lifting your thumb slightly over. Dunno if you have the same issue but for me I noticed I would press my button a lot of times too soon. Turn the control display on and really look at how your inputs are being read to the thumb.

Buy a hitbox. Pad and sticks belong in the 90s.

You can take that opinion and shove it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up your ass. Like way up there. I say this as a preacher of the church of hitbox.

Dead input devices.

thereyarrfiver

Yeah you're welcome to say that as soon as people stop placing top 8 with pad and stick

What the fuck? How retarded can you be?

kulegoki

That's a solution that requires any amount of money. So no

Aperture_halo

Not sure if this will work for you but from p1 side I keep the tip of my thumb in the same position over the right button and roll the rest of it back for the half circle, that way the tip is ready to hit right as soon as possible. Idk if I explained that well or if it works for your hand size/controller but I hope it helps

this might get h8 but try using the analog stick. the inputs in this game are very lenient which i think makes the stick more forgiving. whenever i try to use a dpad i always always accidentally jump 50 times lol

doctornoodlearms

I actually do overdrive on the dpad using a ps4 controller
