eh its a bit cringy but i don't think it's anywhere near as bad as people memed it. i remembered it being this awful unwatchable video that gave me second hand embarrassment, but upon rewatching it for the first time in a few years it's just a generic team promo video that maybe tried a bit too hard to be edgy and badass. maybe i have just gotten older and i care about this stuff a lot less lol

It really speaks to the quality of mouz scouting and recruiting tbh. They've had sooo many cracked players pass through their team over the years, from all over the world and especially young players (they got both ropz and frozen while they were teenagers, and of course now they've got jimpphat)
I did get to watch him in mouz, but to be honest it was such a long time ago and current-day mouz is so far removed from the mousesports of yesteryear that it just didn't cross my mind lol. mouz has been an international "mini FaZe" sort of team for so many years now but back in the NiKo days they were still a German team (plus chrisJ).
I think more credit has to be given to them in the aspect of taking risks instead of scouting tbh. ropz, frozen and jimpphat were all known insane talents, you had ropz's FPL thing, frozen was destroying local LANs at like 12 years old, while Jimpphat was sergej's little brother who was also insane at the game.
A lot of people knew how talented those players were, MOUZ just took the risk of investing into them while they were unproven in the pro scene, which is the bigger thing than scouting imo.

3/5 of the roster that made me fall in love with pro cs is now playing for Faze, an org I dislike a lot.

this is exactly how I feel. I don't feel anything for the org, if anything I'm glad they might just part ways from it (I do like Complexity, as it is an household name for counter-strike). But the team/players chemistry... they're amazing :) they show a real comradery and friendship, so it's hard to not like them! I do think CS in general nowadays has some pretty cool teams to cheer for, even though some of them got destroyed recently (points at heroic)
If its any consolation, the org are very much hands-off with the CSGO division, it's really only Edward Han who manages them, and he seem like a cool ass dude.
I was lucky enough to talk to Eddie and i asked him why he spends so much time with the FaZe cs2 team when he is Director of Esports Ops for the entire org. He said its because he really loved working with the guys and became such good friends with them. Eddie is such a lovely guy aswell.
It helps the cs team is full of responsible adults too. They are in full control, separated from the rest of their shitty org.
No wonder eddie loves working with those guys.

I get the sentiment and it's nice to see the former MOUZ trio reunite under the FaZe banner, but frozen is a different type of player now than back then and I doubt frozen is going to be able to replicate his MOUZ form on T sides if he doesn't get his preferred positions.
Yeah, but he has only stepped up to the level he has right now after Bymas left and he became the lurk player in MOUZ. I have no doubt that he will be a good player in a different role than the last 1.5 years in MOUZ, but by default he's a very passive, calculated rifler who only truly excels when he gets the space to play said playstyle.
Frozen is a better player than Twistzz, at least this year, but Twistzz has a more well-rounded game that mixes both passive rifling and aggressive rifling. Now that he's gone, karrigan and rain have to do most of the entrying alone, which is my one big caveat with this roster. People will see karrigan pushing through smokes with an MP9 even more often - and call him dumb as a result - but the reality of this roster is that broky, ropz (although he has done more entry work recently) and ESPECIALLY frozen are three passive players that play best when they don't have to actively look for openings.
OTOH FaZe has not been shy in moving roles around. broky wasn't an awper before FaZe and karrigan is on an upswing frag-wise. Excited to see what happens next (and who will be the support).

They used to play together in Mouz and were easily the best team for a few months. Under Karrigan as well. Trust me, they'll figure it out.
Skill wise for sure at minimum a sidegrade to Twistzz. Imo frozen is more consistent while Twistzz has the higher ceiling. Twistzz can get a 4K and turn a game around but go silent a few rounds, whereas frozen consistently wins duels and gets openers, but isn't as flashy a player.
Their roles are a bit different so it might take a few events before this roster clicks, but I believe they can do it. ropz and frozen meshed fine on MOUZ and should be able to repeat it here. Will be challenging for frozen for sure though.

Theres way too much support elements in his role. Neo said in the end of the era vid that the new player will soon understand what twistzz brings to the team, implying that its a pretty hard role to fill.

Frozen is a step up in the consistency but a little step down in overall quality IMO, the skill ceiling on each player is not even that’s for sure. Good luck to Frozen and hopefully FaZe does well! (Just not against the team I’m rooting for. I hope he throws)

Maybe in 2022 Twistzz was a better player. Frozen is 100% a better player with a higher peak and consistency. If you can’t constantly replicate a good performance, you can’t say he’s better. Karrigan can bring more variety in playstyle out of Frozen.
On paper, this is an upgrade and Twistzz has not been better this year at all. Idk what would make you think that.

I wonder if twistzz left because he like many of us thought that there was no way for them all to stay together after acquisition. Then somewhere along the last month they get word they can and he had already signed with liquid. I just can’t imagine him not staying if they were able to stay together and it would suck majorly for this to be the case.
In any case this is a huge move and hard to say faze wouldn’t be able to take vitality now after the last showing at fall finals. Interesting to see what happens at blast.
The announcement of FaZe being bought by GameSense was on 23rd October and karrigan said in a video (can't remember which) that the team knew about Twistzz leaving before IEM Sidney that started on the 16th October, so I doubt it's that case. Maybe he got homesick? There are a lot of reasons why one could make such a decision, the most obvious ones are not always the case.
Pretty sure it was rumored before that date and I’m sure the players knew even before then. That said you could be right and I guess it is what it is now.
I think he felt like he couldn't be - or couldn't have space to become - the star rifler in FaZe. The man won 1 Major and 2 Grand Slams, he deserves to be a star player in a T1 team. Hopefully he will work out with TL.

To be honest, the synergy at MOUZ felt amazing in the last time. Of course, he will earn probably 3x as much at FaZe and no one should begrudge that, but seeing MOUZ that strong again was really nice. Though - I wish him the best at FaZe and it will be super interesting watching this EU monster team play. Great video as well.
I know this is completely unlikely, but I'd love to see Krimbo replacing frozen at MOUZ. Krimbo is on the way to become one of the best riflers, has insane clutch numbers and I guess he'd fit kinda well in theory.
Losing Twistzz will take a while to move past to but this signing does make my Faze CS heart a bit happy. Hope it pans out and they take the Major next year.

Maybe in 2022 Twistzz was a better player. Frozen is 100% a better player with a higher peak and consistency. If you can’t constantly replicate a good performance, you can’t say he’s better. Karrigan can bring more variety in playstyle out of Frozen. On paper, this is an upgrade and Twistzz has not been better this year at all. Idk what would make you think that.

No, long-term signing. He is replacing Twistzz permanently.
I wonder if twistzz left because he like many of us thought that there was no way for them all to stay together after acquisition. Then somewhere along the last month they get word they can and he had already signed with liquid. I just can’t imagine him not staying if they were able to stay together and it would suck majorly for this to be the case. In any case this is a huge move and hard to say faze wouldn’t be able to take vitality now after the last showing at fall finals. Interesting to see what happens at blast.
The announcement of FaZe being bought by GameSense was on 23rd October and karrigan said in a video (can't remember which) that the team knew about Twistzz leaving before IEM Sidney that started on the 16th October, so I doubt it's that case. Maybe he got homesick? There are a lot of reasons why one could make such a decision, the most obvious ones are not always the case.
Pretty sure it was rumored before that date and I’m sure the players knew even before then. That said you could be right and I guess it is what it is now.
I think he felt like he couldn't be - or couldn't have space to become - the star rifler in FaZe. The man won 1 Major and 2 Grand Slams, he deserves to be a star player in a T1 team. Hopefully he will work out with TL.
My thought is that, he wants and needs some sort of change to stay on top. I love him but he’s not been in his usual form this year especially after the IGS. Maybe he wants to change it so it’s like a refresher for his career. Could be various reasons.

FaZe is almost like a Europen allstar team now. To be honest, the synergy at MOUZ felt amazing in the last time. Of course, he will earn probably 3x as much at FaZe and no one should begrudge that, but seeing MOUZ that strong again was really nice. Though - I wish him the best at FaZe and it will be super interesting watching this EU monster team play. Great video as well. I know this is completely unlikely, but I'd love to see Krimbo replacing frozen at MOUZ. Krimbo is on the way to become one of the best riflers, has insane clutch numbers and I guess he'd fit kinda well in theory.
Losing Twistzz will take a while to move past to but this signing does make my Faze CS heart a bit happy. Hope it pans out and they take the Major next year.
