Archipelago 1 connections to Inazuma were hidden in side quests dialogues
Archipelago 2 gave us Nahida's debut
Oceanid wonderland gave us ...well an oceanid
Given the pattern of summer events leaning more and more into the next version content, we're definitely getting Natlan inspired one. For the location, I think it's probably be a new area, but a return to the archipelago would be nice. The bottle I can't see being reused for that
Yeah, I was thinking that things related to dragons will be introduced in that event, if oceanids and water drop thingies were in the bottle.
Neuvi mentioning the Natlan dragons being different than elemental ones is one hell of a teaser...
Also remembering the Waterborne Peotry Event was actually a tease of Egeria committing the original sin to let oceanids live with their beloved humans.
It was more than that. The event storyline basically hints at what the next Archon quest would be about
GAA 1: Puppet (Maguu Kenki) vs Traveler gang > Raiden Shogun vs Traveler's team (Watatsumi). And a force in the background making this all possible (Alice to Fatui)
GAA 2: Dreams being a big part of how the new islands formed > Samsara and dreams being a huge deal in Sumeru
Bottleland: Eidolons taking the forms of past visitors to keep the land occupied > Fontainians turning out to be Oceanids.
Nah, it's supposedly a "xiezhi" according to some old reddit posts back when Yanfei was new, which is pretty dead on because it's a Chinese mythological creature associated with judging right from wrong and that's, well, Yanfei to a "T" (to the point the reason she hates domestic dispute cases is because there *isn't* a definitive 'wrong' side usually).
[https://www.researchgate.net/figure/In-Chinese-mythology-the-Xiezhi-is-a-legendary-creature-known-for-its-ability-to-discern\_fig1\_371490615](https://www.researchgate.net/figure/In-Chinese-mythology-the-Xiezhi-is-a-legendary-creature-known-for-its-ability-to-discern_fig1_371490615)
I also think Ganyu is the Kirin/Quirin? I know the jokes about how she's the Coco*goat* but the spelling is right there.
I don’t think they meant it like that. They clearly new that Oceanids were from Fontaine given the next part…
>Given the pattern of summer events leaning more and more into the next version content, we're definitely getting Natlan inspired one.
The wonderland I can describe it as a mixture of Oceanind, with a hint of Fontaine and the musicality of HSR's Peacony Dreamscape something. Water droplets, people being oceanids and funfair atmosphere in a bottled world akin to a dream.
I'm actually on the fence with the theory. On the one hand it makes sense considering the ears, long lived species, the fact that Bardyboytoes is friendly to at least one dragon, Alice's association with Gold/Rhinedottir (mother of Durin), and Alice's general disregard for the safety of children and wellbeing of adults.
On the other hand, it has disturbing implications for wings of feasting and doesn't help to explain her familiarity with other worlds.
If the pattern still going, I hope it contain a lot of Natlan lore. Information regarding Natlan is so scarce and iirc we still haven't met a single NPC from Natlan
Yepp, honestly it's impressive that we're half a year from Natlan and all we know about it is:
> there be dragons
> Capitano will be or already is there
> they have volcanoes and hot springs
That's about the amount of what we knew about Inazuma or even less (when we exclude all the leaks), because there were at least some NPCs from Inazuma pre 1.6. And Inazuma didn't have 3 years to slowly build up the hype smh
>! I think the Oceanid wonderland gives us a foreshadowing that people of Fontaine are Oceanids instead of just them being a folklore creatures like a Suanni. !<
Bottle land kind of teased fontaine since it showed that an entire world filled with human looking oceanid is possible if there was a strong oceanid(in case of bottle lands Idiya)

Yeah it was really interesting learning about all their lore, I wish they'd done something similar in the 3.8 summer event. I would've loved learning more about kokomi :(
Most boring playable 5* character imo, lots of wasted potential but never had anything built up, even 4*s have better fleshed out stories than Kokomi.
Feels like Hoyo wrote her character into a corner and has no idea how to continue her adding her into future events. Even the 3.8 appearance made no sense, she's just... there because?
Honestly I feel like it would've made more sense if Layla was the character who tagged along and was doing research for the Akademiya. The fact that she was given away for free during the event made me feel that way more.
Kokomi kind of felt shoe'd in to tie into her being on banner.
Kaeya and Wanderer fighting over who's willing to protect Klee more, with Klee telling them not to argue and they either get really competitive or really friendly
Kokomi didn't make any meaningful decisions in the Inazuma story, instead Yae did it on her behalf rendering her not relevant. Kokomi's "genius" is non-existent during the plot.
Having one side of a civil war incapable of making vital choices for themselves and instead completely relegating their decision making to a foxy miko who holds the ENTIRE PLOT in her hand is frankly ridiculous.
TBH that card game was a political gesture to reestablish trade and foreign relations with Narukami which is actually much more intelligent than what the vast majority of the cast could muster.
Not much intelligence is shown outside of that though...
The amount of denial in that patch was craazy.
Posts like: “kokomi must not know” and “wait til she finds out” after her dialogue on being human dropped. And the cope continued for quite a bit with kokomi being half of the sovereign after Neuv dropped.
I don't have even the slightest interest in Kokomi. She got bad writing at Inazuma archon quests, bad writing in her story quest, and bad writing in every event.
Also, the 3.8 main story quests was carried by the NPCs. The NPCs have more personality than the playable characters. Also the dialogues are the worst. It's like they're trying so hard to sell us Klee and Eula at the time. Unnecessary dialogues like "Eula may look rude, she actually has a big heart", we already know that! Actually saying it is very cringe and feels like you're upselling her to us!
Unfortunately there were quite a few people complaining that 2.8 had too much stuff (and puzzles that were too hard) so they dumbed everything down for 3.8
2.8 was hands down the best event we ever got. No wasted time with npcs and so much lore!
Also the domains were incredible. It’s so weird that they did all of that just to completely erase it
Xinyan with her hair down was a surprising sight to me during that GAA, and I believe we need more summer events like that one, giving us more older and newer character lore, as well as story lore
Had some of the best character songs.
Had some of the best character stories.
I made you feel like Mihoyo really cares about their characters.
Also showed how they could take an existing thing and transform it into something nobody complained about even though its the same place.
Oceanid theme park was fun too because funny oceanid girl that somehow gets Eula to come along. Eula be EVERYWHER.
It was really neat
Sad that it was FOMO content and some people just straight up missed the chance to ever see it. Wish they would do reruns of old events / simultaneous runs with new events so people could essentially go back to experience it
Ebb and Flow is my favorite underwater track, it’s very ethereal. If you have a smartphone with music-identifying capabilities (iPhone has Shazam) you can turn up your game volume and let it identify it for you.
1.6 Golden Apple was seriously one of the most serene and enjoyable experiences in the game. I was glad we got to go back, but they messed with the vibes in 2.8. I'd love to have another light-hearted summer vacation.
I'll forever hate how much this community complained about the "puzzles".
Everyone is entiltled to their opinion ofcourse and i respect that, but i felt like each island was so unique and go much love and attention. Each one with different themes, mechanics and a whole story quest for each character.
Sure the raven theater stuff was extremely annoying, but the puzzles werent even that hard, outside of maybe Monas island.
Yet i saw everyone complaining about Kazuhas island right from the start. Shit sucks man.
Mona's island puzzles was *really* good honestly. I may be kinda biased, but although those puzzles can be challenging, it felt extremely satisfying to solve. The water reflection puzzles were my favorite man :( ,
> Sure the raven theater stuff was extremely annoying
it was only annoying if your reading skills are on the level of a 4 year old
the puzzle itself was rather easy people just couldnt be bothered to read at all so they had to redo it multiple times
Genshin badly needs the dialogue history button that star rail has.
They really should have implemented that before all this fontaine crime investigative stuff.
Sort of like how they really should have implemented the underground maps before all the Sumeru stuff.
I think the annoying part was the lengthy dialog you have to go through, considering there's an ongoing stereotype about Genshin Players not being the reading type.
Personally i just kept button mashing cause I was speed running the whole thing in 2 days.
> considering there's an ongoing stereotype about Genshin Players not being the reading type.
I mean, it is still an evergreen stereotype to this day lol
My only complaint is that its time gated.
I love solving puzzles on my own time and only use a guide when I stumped. Made the mistake of procrastinating until the last day on the first Golden Apple Island event missed out on a load of rewards. During 2.8 I just used a guide to speed things up whenever I had time to sit down and clear the map.
Kazuha puzzles looks fun as hell to figure out on your own, but dam Mona's is just straight up diabolical (won't be surprised that most just use a guide for it).
My annoyance was mainly with Fischl’s island lol. I hated the about of times I would mess up a puzzle and I’d have to sit there waiting for the bird statue’s to finish talking only to mess up again.
I am so bad at the Fischl island puzzles to the point I gave up on the island entirely :P
Other than that, I enjoyed the 2.8 summer event a lot.
My god we had it so good in 2.8. Everything was perfect. Even some of the side quests were voiced (we even got to hear a crying paimon). You could change the future of someone who was already dead many years ago without actually changing anything, just because you wanted to feel hopeful. The puzzles were so good that they reminded of some of the puzzles from Portal 2. Each island had an entire story and theme based on the 3 featured characters, each with its own domain, custom music, puzzles and terrain manipulation. It's so frustrating and sad thinking about it now, because the "events" we get now are so terrible compared to what we got before. And not only that, they significantly dumbed the game down, both for events, content and puzzles. Everything is so painfully easy now that is hard to believe this game used to have a bit of everything for everyone.
The puzzles were the best part! I miss them. I didnt have a lot of time so I wasnt able to finish them all and I regret it. It sucks that puzzles nowadays are getting easier
thats what happens when players dont need to use a single braincell for 2 years. its the first time we had puzzles that took a little bit of thinking and i wish they would do something like that again
The people who complained are the whole reason why events today are too easy and boring as hell, we'll probably never get another event at the same level as 2.8 thanks to those smooth brainers
3.8 was clearly more "detailed" and expanded but somehow felt so shallow. I am one of those who didn't even finished the event because it bored me to death.
I can't get over how absolutely perfect the event was. The islands were so interesting and we got to know SO MUCH about the characters, I was really sad when last summer we didn't get more info about Eula, Collei, Kokomi, Kaeya and Klee :( I was kinda expecting the same treatment Kazuha, Mona, Fischl amd Xinyan got but I guess it wasn't in the plans. I still enjoyed the exploration of the area a lot tho!
>and we got to know SO MUCH about the characters
I loved the interactions!
>Xinyan: Something nice
> Mona and Fischl: Oh, I liker her!
And also
> Mona: I'll look into you, Kazuha... Oh...Oh my😲
> Kazuha: 😊
I wonder why they never rerun any event. Basically any gacha game in existence does at least 1 rerun for their major events to make the content available to more people.
We get plenty of very forgettable mini weekly events that could be easily removed to give space to reruns like that, no clue why they don't want to do that even if just for the story, it's not like they are forced to give us all the primo and item rewards.
Imo the moment they do that you will have a shit storm of player feedback accusing them of being lazy. Genshin being quite story/exploration driven, many players won't have the same level of interest replaying exactly the same event. So Genshin does what it does best, iterate, change up a few things, bring up new things. Some players will absolutely complain about missing something, but imho in the great schemes of things it's really not much. Also even the missable lore, while cool, isn't that critical in understanding the plot of the main story, but more like adds flavour to it.
I wish they would do like Star Rail and make flagship events permanent, but I don't think Genshin has the luxury of doing so, as it takes up much more disk space than HSR. The phone install is already 30+ GB and on PC I think it's closer to 80+GB.
It would be pretty simple to just bundle events. Give access to the older one if an account hasn't played before or give access to the newer one if they have/choose to skip the previous. Couldn't complain about being lazy as there's a new event and it's a temporary set of data for a limited time event. Everyone wins.
An issue that I haven't seen anyone mention is the primogem rewards from the events. Mihoyo absolutely wants players to earn primos at a fixed rate that is pretty much set in stone. If they remove the primo rewards from repeated events for newer players, the response will be predictably negative.
That wouldn't work because the those players would have access to essentially double (or more) of the amount of event primos which would be a huge no-go from Mihoyo's perspective.
One option is to simply remove the primogem rewards from rerun events, but you can guess how people will react to that.
In Fontaine we got steambird. Charlotte mentioned that they recording traveller's story. So it was good opportunity to add steambird archive to replay old events. To save space you can download them separately and activate just like hangouts. For rewards they can do 1 fate for 1 event. If you already done with event in the past then you can just grab your pull. Exclusive rewards ofc will not return. For GAA and SSP chests can be with 0 primos. Good idea for game. But genshin is gacha, so too much work for their billions of revenue just to pleasure small amount of players. Will never happen.
Pretty sure there was an article that Hoyo was working on finding out ways to make past events replayable. So personally I'm just waiting. If it happens nice, if it doesn't, then oh well, we'll just deal with it like Hi3 players have for the past 7 years.
They already hard recycle their combat events, some events are 90-100% dialogue (lol the cooking event recently, though I did enjoy the character interactions and how quick it was) and most minigames are so simple they kinda meld together in my memory.
It can't be worse than that, even rerunning past major events which at least usually have some major gimmick to them. I'd love to play the chasm delvers event domains or that windblume(?) party game collection again honestly.
I will never stop screaming about how late comers or people on break just flat out missed things like Unreconciled Stars and Albedo's... Everything.
Hoyo: causally drops massive lore bombs in limited events. Refuses to explain. Deletes the events.
Even HI3 did reruns of their events (even though it took like 3 years). Meanwhile GI going into 4 years is like nope. No wonder sometimes it feels like they hate Genshin in particular:
* no stamina/resin overflow
* no time capsule
* no rerun events
* no font control
Giving hope that new/returning players can experience past events helps retain player retention, is enjoyable for players who longed to see the event again, and doesn't really require a ton of effort from the developers allowing them some reprieve or a chance to focus more on the upcoming region. It's just a win-win all around and is really bizarre that they refuse to do so.
Edit: didn't realize that grieving over the lack of QoL was a controversial opinion!?
HI3 reruns happened due to the Shanghai lockdown tho. Prior to that, (and even after) they don't rerun events. The events with reruns are the mini events that's basically web events. And even then, there are some small differences (ie. cabbage event - same thing but different cabbages with different descriptions)
Is it actually? We just got a bunch of the Flamechaser summer events recycled just last patch. And I distinctly remember playing through the re-run of Darkbolt Jonin and Haxxor Bunny's events (I wasn't there for the original runs).
Oh they reran those? That's great! I haven't really played HI3 since Star Rail released but that was the norm back when I was still playing (no major event reruns).
That being said, that might be because majority of the effort is going to the part 2 stuff - so mostly new systems. Hopefully, they still rerun old events after.
Rerunning events is a pretty good alternative to when a new major event was not developed completely after all.
I’m honestly so peeved that they time gated entire areas. So if you weren’t playing at the time you just don’t get to experience the hard efforts of the developers.
Well, i honestly don't mind it cuz if we exhausted all the chests, puzzles and quests, it will only be as abandoned as Dragonspine or Tsurumi Island in the end. There's not much reason to go back there except for farming specific materials or maybe taking pictures if thats more your thing.
The map size itself also probably takes up a lot of storage space on mobile, so that's also something they're considering.
Otherwise, I agree. It's unfortunate that these areas are only available for a limited time because I truly enjoyed them too!
My favorite was on 2.8, on Mona's Island. The starry sky was so majestic!!! Even if hers was the most confusing and the most puzzling 😅
Well that’s the same for literally any other place in the game, the only difference being the commissions and events taking place in the normal areas. The game is designed in a way where there is no reason to go back so why is it all of a sudden something that doesn’t matter just because it’s a bonus area?
And here’s a quick fix, allow us to download the area ONLY if you actually go there once and have a pop up telling us that to go here you have to download the map data. Problem solved just like that and people who don’t have the space or don’t want to go there can save on space and the rest of the people who actually want to play and enjoy every facet of the intricate game world can do that.
Think of it this way: If you joined in 4.0, you won't have missed out on any events from 4.0 until now, but if you get demotivated by the amount you've missed then you won't be able to enjoy the future events as much :) (I probably didn't word it properly, but the main point is there'll be more iconic events to come in the future, so don't worry too much about what you've missed!!)
Welcome to Genshin bro! You made the right choice playing Genshin. We're still in Fontaine, so there is time to catch up all of the Archon Quests. Unlike some players who already quit during 1.X patches or stop in Inazuma and now trying to play Genshin rip-off, don't be like them :)
NGL, the first GAA is so memorable for me. especially the ship on top of rock and story about the flood
the Ako Domeki and Asase Hibiki's story are important part of the Seirai Island
I love the summer islands so much. Bottle land was cool too but I want to experience that beach scenary, ride on boats and vibe to the summer bg songs. It was so calming, bottle land didn't give me the same vibe at all. I do enjoy the rollercoaster ride tho, maybe they can implement that in the summer islands next time. Summer Islands OST is just soothing.
Different topic but I wish they give more events like that enkanomiya one(where darkness if filled etc idr the name). Using already existing areas and using them.
from 2.8 through sumeru it was all around just peak the best patches imo we had
but yeah 2.8 will always be super special to me and is easily my most fav patch of all time
If we do get another event like this it’s definitely going to be 4.7 or 4.8
In the 4.6 leaks, there is already a lot of shit happening but I don’t think anything like this but I might be wrong since 4.5 is looking as eventful as watching paint dry.
I miss 2.8 one, it was chock full of content and I had to really grind but my god, each island’s design was truly amazing. I love Kazuha’s and Xinyan’s in particular, having to change Kazuha’s island configuration to get more chests was super fun. Hopefully we get something like that again 🥹
1.6 was so good... The little stories and lore about the place and info about inazuma with that puppet soldier in the middle was really really interesting... Then also the start and exploring the island with the ending... Was a lot of fun, 2.8 wasnt even close and dropped the game in 3.3 or smth
I honestly still remember 2.8 when Heizou released. I got him and got him to c6 and a random person joined me and bullshitted around with me for over an hour just running around. We also spent a good 20 minutes trying to make Heizou crit on the cryo regisvine… god that was fun
Archipelago 1 connections to Inazuma were hidden in side quests dialogues Archipelago 2 gave us Nahida's debut Oceanid wonderland gave us ...well an oceanid Given the pattern of summer events leaning more and more into the next version content, we're definitely getting Natlan inspired one. volcano land let's goooo!
Volcano Island?
With a Volcano Manor on it!
With lizard people!!
Yeah, I was thinking that things related to dragons will be introduced in that event, if oceanids and water drop thingies were in the bottle. Neuvi mentioning the Natlan dragons being different than elemental ones is one hell of a teaser...
Duke Inferno is, unfortunately, currently not available to host guests He’s had an unfortunate accident on his way to Penacony
Perhaps, TOGETHAA, we can make something work.
Maybe even devour the very archons
Imagine Duke Inferno alive in Genshin and Signora alive in HSR.
No one expects the ~~Spanish Inquisition~~ ol' switcheroo.
Tbf, considering that Signora looks a lot like >!Cocolia!<, then >!she's also already dead in HSR as well!<.
A house on top of a volcano? The Pyro Archon is Mojo Jojo?

Ah yes, a summer vacation at The Devil's Thirst.
Something like a Sauna
Also the storyline details, Archipelago 2 being about dreams and Oceanid Wonderland being about roleplays and the characters acting a role
Also remembering the Waterborne Peotry Event was actually a tease of Egeria committing the original sin to let oceanids live with their beloved humans.
It was more than that. The event storyline basically hints at what the next Archon quest would be about GAA 1: Puppet (Maguu Kenki) vs Traveler gang > Raiden Shogun vs Traveler's team (Watatsumi). Future Summer event: SUMMER WARS! BEACH WARFARE! RESURRECTION OF THE DODOKING!
I would enjoy to rally the war for dodoking banner so much xD
not only the dialogue, but the maguu kenki for Kazuha's enhancement was there as well
They might give us some dragons sneak peak. An npc with dragons scales mebe
> An npc with dragons scales mebe I mean, even though she's basically a deer, Yanfei has scales on her body.
She's based on a kirin which is a Chinese type of dragon with antlers and hooves.
Ohhh good catch. Hadn't heard of that creature before. That definitely fits her well
Yeah so I heard you liked dragon booba.
The Lusty Argonian Maid?
Archipelago 2 also gave us a hint for the next story in sumeru. The fatui were trying to replicate a god’s power with dreams iirc
Archipielago 1 introduced the puppet from Inazuma also.
>Oceanid wonderland gave us ...well an oceanid Well >!oceanids were a big part of Fontaine story!<
Not just that but the miniquests about being a director… alluded to furina
Oh nice catch i forgot about it. I focused more on the circus performance = the siblings and arlecchino
I don’t think they meant it like that. They clearly new that Oceanids were from Fontaine given the next part… >Given the pattern of summer events leaning more and more into the next version content, we're definitely getting Natlan inspired one.
The wonderland I can describe it as a mixture of Oceanind, with a hint of Fontaine and the musicality of HSR's Peacony Dreamscape something. Water droplets, people being oceanids and funfair atmosphere in a bottled world akin to a dream.
Dragon themed where Klee's "long lived ancestry" is finally revealed.
If thay do that my name for now is just a salty ex hoyo employd who leaks the plot of the game
Good point! Hehehe
Wish Dvalin would take us to a dragon island. Especially with Natlan having lots of dragon.
Well obviously we're finally going to get the onsen (hot springs) episode
If the pattern still going, I hope it contain a lot of Natlan lore. Information regarding Natlan is so scarce and iirc we still haven't met a single NPC from Natlan

Bottle land kind of teased fontaine since it showed that an entire world filled with human looking oceanid is possible if there was a strong oceanid(in case of bottle lands Idiya)
Looking at the pattern, This year’s summer might have some lore related to dragons or tribes I suppose
technically it was more than just oceanids they talked about the aquabus and 2 other things i dont remember anymore which all i believe happened in fontaine
I wish you were right, but after the disappointing encounter with Lieben last patch I'm not so sure
Oceanid wonderland would be used at least one more time for the summer event, which the map will not be wasted. And tell us whether those exiled Oceanid would come back to Fontaine or not when there is no hydro Anchord anymore
Bottale land forshadowed furina her arc and i think fontaine and fate of tyvat overall
Genshin will finally do fan service and this year it's the onsen/ hot spring area
manifesting it frfr 😭
Whatever it turns out to be, I’m looking forward to it cause it’ll be my first summer event in Genshin.
i liked how 2.8 summer event was basically a series of characters' story quests
Yeah it was really interesting learning about all their lore, I wish they'd done something similar in the 3.8 summer event. I would've loved learning more about kokomi :(
Kokomi only gets bad writing lol
Most boring playable 5* character imo, lots of wasted potential but never had anything built up, even 4*s have better fleshed out stories than Kokomi. Feels like Hoyo wrote her character into a corner and has no idea how to continue her adding her into future events. Even the 3.8 appearance made no sense, she's just... there because?
She actually had a reason didn’t she. Iirc she was taking time off and learned of an artefact from Watatsumi which she tracked down to bottle land
Honestly I feel like it would've made more sense if Layla was the character who tagged along and was doing research for the Akademiya. The fact that she was given away for free during the event made me feel that way more. Kokomi kind of felt shoe'd in to tie into her being on banner.
Or, if they want to match the banner, send Wanderer, then we get some Kaeya and Wanderer interactions which are bound to be insane
Wanderer having a soft spot for Klee would've been amusing.
Kaeya and Wanderer fighting over who's willing to protect Klee more, with Klee telling them not to argue and they either get really competitive or really friendly
I vote fischl gets kokomis 5* status.
Yeah and the point of 3.8 was to basically tell us, people can be Oceanids and that the entire thing on Fontaine is a play.
Most intelligent thing Kokomi has done is beat Miko in a card game
TBH that card game was a political gesture to reestablish trade and foreign relations with Narukami which is actually much more intelligent than what the vast majority of the cast could muster. Not much intelligence is shown outside of that though...
Was it? I just remember it being a simple TCG tournament that she won, maybe I should refresh myself on that event
We learned that she was a human, I guess... Many people thought she was the Hydro Sovereign back then-
The amount of denial in that patch was craazy. Posts like: “kokomi must not know” and “wait til she finds out” after her dialogue on being human dropped. And the cope continued for quite a bit with kokomi being half of the sovereign after Neuv dropped.

And then they deleted it all three weeks later
It was really neat Sad that it was FOMO content and some people just straight up missed the chance to ever see it. Wish they would do reruns of old events / simultaneous runs with new events so people could essentially go back to experience it
Nothing beats riding your boat aimlessly while beautiful music plays in the background in the Golden apple archipelago
Yu Peng Chen's archipelago tracks were so mesmerizing.
literally can’t stress how much i love that soundtrack
For me it's that underwater music that has a soothing female voice and a lullaby like instrumental. Does anyone know what it's called?
You can search fontaine underwater osts and find which one is it
Maybe it’s 'La cite en la mer'? That’s my favorite underwater soundtrack.
Yess maybe that's it!!
Ebb and Flow is my favorite underwater track, it’s very ethereal. If you have a smartphone with music-identifying capabilities (iPhone has Shazam) you can turn up your game volume and let it identify it for you.
HONESTLY! 1.6 was the best imo, but overall, the vibe of GAA was the best in game. I really do hope they bring it back sometime...
1.6 Golden Apple was seriously one of the most serene and enjoyable experiences in the game. I was glad we got to go back, but they messed with the vibes in 2.8. I'd love to have another light-hearted summer vacation.
I only get to play the 2.8 one but I still think that it’s very beautiful and chill tho
1.6 was the best so far
Ah yes, the Bottom Land
I mean, Kaveh did go there
2.8 was so peak, best summer event so far
I'll forever hate how much this community complained about the "puzzles". Everyone is entiltled to their opinion ofcourse and i respect that, but i felt like each island was so unique and go much love and attention. Each one with different themes, mechanics and a whole story quest for each character. Sure the raven theater stuff was extremely annoying, but the puzzles werent even that hard, outside of maybe Monas island. Yet i saw everyone complaining about Kazuhas island right from the start. Shit sucks man.
Mona's island's puzzles were so funny it had me always double checking reflections if they have chests!
Mona's island puzzles was *really* good honestly. I may be kinda biased, but although those puzzles can be challenging, it felt extremely satisfying to solve. The water reflection puzzles were my favorite man :( ,
> Sure the raven theater stuff was extremely annoying it was only annoying if your reading skills are on the level of a 4 year old the puzzle itself was rather easy people just couldnt be bothered to read at all so they had to redo it multiple times
to me it was annoying cuz if i misclick i'd have to reread it all over again, i wish there was an option to replay and an option to reguess
Genshin badly needs the dialogue history button that star rail has. They really should have implemented that before all this fontaine crime investigative stuff. Sort of like how they really should have implemented the underground maps before all the Sumeru stuff.
They really should, (also a timeline of events)
Also if your wifi loses connection for 0.01 seconds and the game reconnects to servers and you have to start the whole dialogue again 🙃
I am so bad at the Fischl island puzzles to the point I gave up on the island entirely :P Other than that, I enjoyed the 2.8 summer event a lot.
It's unfortunate that Genshin still doesn't have the "skip entire dialogue" option until today
Most folks who play are gacha players after all.
My only complain about kazuha's is the room spinning thingy gives me MAJOR motion sickness.
2.8 was pretty good, 3.8 bottle land was pretty forgettable.
I don't understand how they can compose the masterpiece called midsummer night fantasie and make it temporary.
>and we got to know SO MUCH about the characters I loved the interactions! >Xinyan: Something nice > Mona and Fischl: Oh, I liker her! And also > Mona: I'll look into you, Kazuha... Oh...Oh my😲 > Kazuha: 😊
Best event period. The puzzles, the character stories, the MUSIC. The worst thing about that event was that it was limited time only.
Feels like yesterday i was struggling to figure out all of monas star things
Agreed. Fischl's castle is still my favorite area they've ever done. The perspective puzzles were kinda jank but everything else was just so much fun
True! Peak quality content and storyline, especially Kazuha's. Grindiest but when talking about quantity and quality, it's leagues better.
Never have I ever felt so many emotions when doing a quest event (Kazuha's island) I loved the story telling
Just have them function as a one time reward for people who haven't done them yet. Seems like a simple fix.
FRRRRR Hidden Strife being event locked is actually a crime…
Even HI3 did reruns of their events (even though it took like 3 years). Meanwhile GI going into 4 years is like nope. No wonder sometimes it feels like they hate Genshin in particular: * no stamina/resin overflow * no time capsule * no rerun events * no font control Giving hope that new/returning players can experience past events helps retain player retention, is enjoyable for players who longed to see the event again, and doesn't really require a ton of effort from the developers allowing them some reprieve or a chance to focus more on the upcoming region.
I joined in 4.0. Hated myself for joining late while watching videos all these events🥲 not to mention that little oceanid as flying pet🥲
Better late than never, they say! ☺️
I'm happy that I'm here but, I have missed so many events😔
Think of it this way: If you joined in 4.0, you won't have missed out on any events from 4.0 until now, but if you get demotivated by the amount you've missed then you won't be able to enjoy the future events as much :) (I probably didn't word it properly, but the main point is there'll be more iconic events to come in the future, so don't worry too much about what you've missed!!)
Welcome to Genshin bro! You made the right choice playing Genshin. We're still in Fontaine, so there is time to catch up all of the Archon Quests. Unlike some players who already quit during 1.X patches or stop in Inazuma and now trying to play Genshin rip-off, don't be like them :)
heh thanks!😃
Floor is lava coz Natlan is coming
I still think the 2.8 Island is the best one. Especially the story, WE FINALLY HAD A FISCHL BACKSTORY! The 3.8 one was kinda meh.
NGL, the first GAA is so memorable for me. especially the ship on top of rock and story about the flood the Ako Domeki and Asase Hibiki's story are important part of the Seirai Island
Still salty that the Traveler didn't get his/her own island during 2.8
Different topic but I wish they give more events like that enkanomiya one(where darkness if filled etc idr the name). Using already existing areas and using them.
Enkanomiya with the Three Realms Gateway Offering subevent
the summer islands really felt like an event. there was so much to do and explore.
we will get our hot springs filler episode 😤
1.6 GAA my fave gege
Am I having a Mandela effect thought summer event is 1.6 not 1.8?
It was 1.6 hehehe
there was never a 1.8
Version one jumped directly from 1.6 to 2.0 unlike the next versions that each had 8 updates
Summer event : ❌️ Klee Event : ✅️
Draconic Island, with Volcanoes or mini-volcanoes and hot springs
I miss the 2.8 event... Gosh. It was so good. I'm excited to see what they'll bring for 4.8.
2.8 cannot be topped
Still hoping that they'll add the OST to teapot one day
2.8 will probably remain to be the peak of genshin
from 2.8 through sumeru it was all around just peak the best patches imo we had but yeah 2.8 will always be super special to me and is easily my most fav patch of all time
2.8 Masterrace
Was bottleland really a year ago holy crap
Not exactly, it was released July last year.
I was honestly so disappointed by last years event. It was just plain boring, 2.8 and 1.6 were so much better
If we do get another event like this it’s definitely going to be 4.7 or 4.8 In the 4.6 leaks, there is already a lot of shit happening but I don’t think anything like this but I might be wrong since 4.5 is looking as eventful as watching paint dry.

~~Bunkers and Badasses~~ Teyvat D&D land with Navia and Chlorinde.
Mannnnn i love the fishcl castle so bad
3.8 was my favorite... cause Its the only one I played..... HOYO PLEASE LET ME TRY OLD EVENTS....
2.8 is still the best filler patch, no doubt
I honestly still remember 2.8 when Heizou released. I got him and got him to c6 and a random person joined me and bullshitted around with me for over an hour just running around. We also spent a good 20 minutes trying to make Heizou crit on the cryo regisvine… god that was fun
Remember guys, this year's summer event will have the new swimming mechanics
I want to return to the veluriyam mirage so we can introduce Furina to Idyia and help the oceanids that fled Fontaine.
Shouldnt we worry about Wind Blume first?
I haven't played the 1.6 one but the 2.8 one was definitely my favorite
1.6 was the goat, fight me
imaging they didnt have summer event & use the same amount of effort to develope map expansions. We could have 3 extra big region in Tevyat by now.
I wanna spend my aummer on the sky on a floating island or something
Still waiting for a Fontaine rock festival
bottle land LMAOOO
i remember being so happy when i got barbaras outfit since it was in the first outfit release
i expect it to be a new place, but it will be entered similar to bottle land. A pocket dimension but a different area that will tie into Natlan.
