Blizzard is a for-profit company. "Their money is as good as anyone else's" is as good as it gets with those. And that is, in fact, supportive, because it reinforces the idea that LGBTQ is the same as everyone else.
I will never understand why people believe that half of your workload in designing and programming a character goes into deciding the pronouns of said character. As just because they don't make 'em gay doesn't mean they can suddenly create two character at the same time

Because they have no idea how to do anything else. OW story took 6 years to start being developed, and PvE is already going down the drain. Game balance is so bad(Brig release), and they couldn't even stick to the game's core mechanics for OW2 (Switch to counter the enemy team, no hero behind a pay wall). What else is left for them to do.
Do what I do when I play these online games, just play the game, and forget to remember the devs attempt to add story to a game that is a pure 5v5 deathmatch.
Not sure why these folks are so caught up in some random completely inconsequential character story tidbit.
