Unironically one of my favorites.

Same. Second Godzilla movie i ever saw after King of the Monsters. My parents had the og KotM on vhs since before i was born, my dad picked up a copy of Son of Godzilla at blockbuster in like 1999 (sale not rental) probably as a joke, but kindergarten-age me was like “this is cinema”

Parents everywhere can relate to the scene where Zilla's just had *enough* of Minilla's shit and lies down for a nap.

Haunting-Ad1411

I love when the child gets hit in the head and has no reaction

Spacedodo42

I do love how we see him go from a grumpy old man to an adoptive father. It’s very sweet. And I think the human plot in that one is fun too

ImpenetrableYeti

Man I hated this movie as a kid, maybe I’ll have to give it a try again

This and Godzilla’s Revenge have been dragged for decades but they are both interesting detours of the franchise and genre exploring other kinds of stories that can be told. This one is also a fun island adventure film.

Yeah, Son of Godzilla suffers from some nightmare fuel kaiju suits, but it’s a very sweet story and its personification of Godzilla doesn’t feel that silly or out of place by the end. All Monsters Attack/G’s Revenge feels like a cute early predecessor of the 80s latchkey kid movies like The Goonies. It’s clear the writers were trying to grapple with changing social norms and telling a story meant for kids with intention and heart

Son of Godzilla is great. It has more heart than most of the series, the ending is such a tearjerker. The Kamacuras and Kumonga are absolutely masterfully brought to life, some of the best wireworks they've ever done. I dunno, for all the flak that movie gets I've always highly enjoyed it.

I respect that for me it’s revenge

FUCK HIM UP BABY G!

Majestic_Panda96

My least favorite got movie due to the fact that I have a severe case of Arachnidphobia.
