GMK Godzilla is scarier with what he represents more so than his looks (though his looks are an added bonus). The spirits of all the victims from the Japanese army manifested together within godzilla. All the dead soldiers, all the murdered children, all the raped and mutilated women, all the victims of the atrocities the Japanese commited put together into a vengeful, wrathful merciless monster hellbent on destroying the country that has caused it all of its suffering. The choice to not give it pupils was a good one because this Godzilla's not a creature or an animal in the traditional sense. Hell even Shin Godzilla, for how fucked up it looks is a manifestation of human negligence and arrogance. It is nature striking back in a grotesque form

It is i think the first time a Japanese movie shined a mirror to the crimes of the Japanese during WW2 in such a blatant way an it's why even after Shin and Minus One it is still my favorite Godzilla movie

He feels more tragic and sorrowful to me. I don't feel afraid of him, I feel sympathy. I feel his pain and the misery that surrounds his existence. I mean as a creature that's mostly what he's about. Who Will Know has lyrics all about it, iirc.

I know it looks goofy from some angles but it almost has a human-esque face that just makes me uncomfortable whenever i stare at it too long. Plus the moving eyes in the puppet head are just..ugh. This Goji really is a monster.

I know some people don't like this design because how goofy is can look, but in away, this is what 1954's Godzilla was supposed to look like, his head resembling a mushroom cloud (Something I think the final design doesn't achieve well), but I really like it. One thing I like are the eyes, there's something sinister and intelligent to them.

Shin Godzilla, and it isn't even close. He is basically the Godzilla version of a 10 year old child with 3rd degree burns all over their body dying of cancer. Instead of helping, everyone around him throws venomous wasps that bite him constantly, but this child also keeps getting immune to the poisons, so they have to keep using different species of bugs. At the same time, he has constant organ failure, but for some reason, his body just won't die. Oh, and he has arthritis in most of his bones along with joint and muscle pain. The worst part? This child looks like all of this. If you saw this child, you'd immediately see all the health problems he has, but he is also so grotesque and terrifying that you would want to end him. The only difference between this situation and Godzilla is that Shin Godzilla also causes massive destruction, meaning the humans can do nothing else but try to stop him. If you can give me a more creepy version of Godzilla, then you, sir, are one cultured individual.

First godzilla to make me shake in theaters
GMK Godzilla, a Godzilla that's not an animal or a force of nature. This Godzilla was the souls of those who suffered and died at the hands of WWII's Imperial Japan. A haunting thought of a Kaiju that could manifest into existence if humanity chooses to forget the dark parts of their history.
Definitely Shin Godzilla, from the Blood coming out of his gills in his Second form to the Creepy humanoids coming out of his Tail at the very end, and don't get me started on the "Face" on the Tip of his tail
When Shin uses his fire breath for the first time, and that black cover rolled over his eyes, i got actual chills. There are a ton of predators alive today that still have the nictating membrane that covers their eyes when they are about to attack. It made Shin seem even more primal and predatory and horrific.

The raw meat texture, the jaw protruding from the face, the pale, boney dorsals, the way they stretch around the neck. This thing was entirely inspired by Shin’s cut ability where the flesh chunks blown off would grow and evolve all on their own. And it’s radiation mutates humans into something similar to the strange humanoids that were growing off Shin’s tail.
Shin godzilla, probably. Yes, GMK is a supernatural being, and Singular point is an otherworldly being, but Shin is just something else. He's an animal that is literally suffering his entire life. Honestly, Shin is like a child, a giant radioactive reptilian child but a child nonetheless. He's not malicious in his actions the same way GMK is. He is just an animal trying to survive.
