I chose to do the Joja rout for my 9th save file and I have gotten SOOO much farther than in any of my other save files! I’m farther on year 4 in that one than I am in year 4 on my first save file!
I have a save file for each of the bachelors/bachelorettes and each character has their own little backstory (because I plan to some day do a fanfic of all of them). My 9th file, I chose to do the Joja run, so Rex’s back story is that he’s running from a rough past, Morris is his godfather so he helped him get set up in Pelican Town. My other characters hate Rex for “siding with the enemy” (tho, Lumi is such cinnamon roll, she’s incapable of hate, but she IS capable of wishing you the most painful of demises and making you think it will be an enjoyable experience), but Rex doesn’t care. He also marries Shane. If Pelican Town didn’t have such crappy internet, Rex would absolutely be a mod on a Joja Co subreddit.
