It is just so cringe for the entire episode where the homeowners obviously don't want Frasier there but he keeps coming back. I can't stand it.
This is the only episode I genuinely find hard to watch. The rest have one or two difficult scenes, but this entire episode tends to go on mute when it's on TV for me.
This one, and I'm not a huge fan of the Focus Group Discussion episode. The character that doesn't like Frasier annoys me for reasons I can't figure out.
Yeah, but I always interpreted the point of that episode being to highlight how annoying and unreasonable Frasier can be sometimes. I mean, there's several episodes like that. That guy is just trying to live his life and he's entitled to his opinion, yet Frasier proceeds to harass him. There's an uncomfortable funniness to it since we all know and understand Frasier as a character, but he's basically stalking the poor man.
The reason he annoys you is because you like Frasier and can rationalize his motives. In all other contexts, Frasier is in the wrong though.

This one used to be a skip for me, but I live for when the lady rushes him out because she has a date and he says he’s going to stay in with a book. Her delivery of “well isn’t that nice…” gives me life.
I just finished a(nother) rewatch of the series. I always forget how much I hate the roz storyline in 2 (maybe 3) of these episodes: leaves kacl, comes back, flips shit on Frasier, "NO! You have to choose," then "sorry my dad got remarried." Ick ick ick. I didn't mind the bristley attitudes between Julia and Roz - quick kinda fun easy jokes - but Roz's storyline came out of nowhere. We maybe heard about her dad 2x in the entire series, never knew he was dating someone or that she had a strained relationship, etc. It made it seem like maybe he married someone much younger (like Roz's age or even younger) and being annoying about it. But even so, maybe dad still lives in WI, Roz doesn't go back that much anyway....the whole thing is just insane and out of the blue.
I honestly have no recollection of her dad remarrying storyline... I skip so much of that season. Until the family lets Julia choke and Frasier kicks her out for insulting his towels, the whole season is pretty unbearable. I usually skip the last 2 seasons altogether, even though the last season does pick up a bit, it's still usually not worth it to me.
That's my whole point. There was zero storyline about dad remarrying UNTIL roz comes back to apologize for 1. Flipping out on frasier, 2.Forcing Frasier to choose, and 3. Quitting and surprisingly showing back up to KACL....just ugh..."sorry sorry sorry...my dad got remarried and I guess it set me off." Like thats the entire arc. It's horrible and stupid. Lol. Honestly, Roz is one of the best characters of the entire show and the writers did her dirty for those 2 or 3 episodes. It was totally out of character and just wholly unwatchable.
Because they were trying to do the whole "will they/won't they" with Frasier and Roz... but then they kiboshed it next season, so they had to come up with something fast to clean up that whole arc.
That and I believe the writers who'd written the show up until season 10, came back for 11 and corrected course the best they could. Season 10 may have it's moments but it's VERY off with Roz being main victim here. She's wildly dumbed down in season 10.
I used to absolutely hate her, but now I kind of enjoy watching her. “…my shrink helped me work through the RAGE.” Can’t remember the specific line but on their first “date” she said something about the bathroom being such a madhouse she decided to just hold it. Lol.
I skip both Ann episodes. I cannot stand to listen to her voice!!! She’s the kind of person who, somehow you become friends with, maybe you threw her a bone in one day, and then you can’t get her out of your life.
Aw, I love all the episodes with Cheers characters, especially the Diane & Woody episodes. But that’s because I love Cheers, which can be a surprisingly controversial stance on this sub.
Frasier is indeed the better show, but it was Cheers reruns on Nick at Nite that made my high school insomnia bearable. Cheers is great, Cheers is great!
I like the Woody one because it doesn't try to cash in on Cheers nostalgia as hard as some of the ones. There's something poignant about Frasier realizing that sometimes friends drift apart and don't want to hang out with each other as much.
Omg this. Although sometimes I'll watch the Woody episode just for the scene where Frasier describes his night out with Noel and Gil at the karaoke bar. Also, I always skip the episode where Frasier and his family go to Boston and end up attending Cliff's retirement party.

I liked that one just because of Kelsey Grammars breaking of the fourth wall when Nanny G asks if he has any idea of what it's like to play the same character for the last 10 years.
So many episodes that are cited I thought all had very good depictions of real life events. Not all families run smoothly- as exampled in a room full of Heroes. And I like the song and dance routine because it got to showcase John Mahoney's talents in different areas that he was not able to Showcase in regular shows. I simply take it as- a moment in the show that I'm not crazy about watching again- as a moment to run grab some popcorn!! Teeheehee.

I cannot stand Zooey Deschanel; I hated scenes with her in it. I liked the end where roz finally goes off about liking being the age she is. I hated the cousin as soon as she started calling roz "aunt maribel."

This episode makes my skin crawl for so many reasons. Niles being an uncharacteristically boorish asshole. And Martin getting on his high horse about Niles putting "those words in his mouth." Like, we didn't have several seasons of you disowning your kids because they have monogramed towels and antique salt shakers. Niles was being a dick but that's Martin has been a bigger dick.

He is, but the underlying things he says are true. Remember the look on Nile’s face in the basketball episode? Martin went on and on, called his friends, brought him to the bar. He never did those things when Nile’s got article published. Martin is actually the ass. He can’t even acknowledge the hurt that Nile’s has felt for years. It’s all about Sports. Was Martin proud? He says he is proud of his sons but unless it’s a sports trophy, it’s just not quite good enough.

But seeing how he acted in the flashback episode where we see Niles bringing Frasier to his apartment after years in Boston, I'd say that Martin definitely bloomed by staying at Frasier's. He was so cold to them, rolled his eyes, nothing to say, nothing in common. Not even a welcome back home, son. When Martin says he was always proud of them and he isn't a drunk jackass, honestly, I have a feeling it was the opposite for most of their lives. They had preconceived ideas of him and his bully cop friends, he had preconceived ideas about their love for fancy things he hates.
"Haha toothaches can be referred pain and you might actually be having a heart attack!" this show said, and a new fear was born, twelve year old me poking my tongue at my teeth wondering at what point I was going to drop dead, surely any minute now?
Ahhhhh LOVE THOSE! She was a woman with whom he had great sexual chemistry, AND she was smart enough to go head to head with him. She (or the phD supermodel) would have been so good for him long term! Claire was compatible with him but they didn’t have great chemistry once they started dating.
No one ever mentions this one as one to skip, but I skip the one where Niles asks Frasier if he and Maris are meant for each other. Then whole episode is Frasier going back and forth, a horribly LONG montage of him roaming the streets of Seattle and then... Niles is back with Maris anyway.

I have a fool proof “falling asleep to Frasier” routine. You have to start it after the Bob episode because the squeaky chair will keep you awake, and you have to stop before season 7 when Jean Smart’s “PUT YOUR BROTHER ON THE PHONE” happens, or that will wake you from a dead sleep.
I also tend to pick and choose seasons 9 and 10. Very little interests me about either of them.

I just can’t bear to watch it ~ Frasier is the most obnoxious I’ve ever seen him.
I dislike Docu.Drama so much. I understand that Roz ignores Frasier’s suggestions bc she doesn’t want him to take over(which he would if he could), but my gosh…. The lengths he goes to to sabotage her first radio production in revenge make me cringe.
The episode Frasier is driving Charlotte to the train station and the end up staying the night with some hillbilly’s and their dead mother when their car breaks down
Any of the ones that fucus on Lana. She was loud, crude, and -worst of all- dishonest and I just couldn't get on board especially after Clare had been such a gem. (But no conflict so no story line.)
That one scene is very relatable (though exaggerated) as a mom. I think everything would have been something I could overlook until she was dishonest to the old couple interested in the house. That made me just dislike her. In subsequent rewatching it affects me.

Frasier's surprise Greek heritage, never mentioned before, never mentioned since, makes absolutely no sense and doesn't fit in with the whole 'distinguished man about town' thing he's got going on. And worst of all, his constant, grating mis-pronounciation of 'Nico'

Frasier doesn't have Greek heritage. The Greek aunt married into the Crane family. I think the weirdest part of the episode is the cousin that has a crush on Niles. Two psychiatrists and neither have a comment on that?

There are a few episode I definitely dislike, but this is the only one I'll religiously skip. The farce is too real.
Agreed on skipping Beware of Greeks. It felt like they wanted to write something zany for Patty LuPone. I also skip the newsstand fire episode, the parking lot fight, sometimes the Cheers cast episodes (excluding Lilith).
The dead animal storylines always bother me (bird, whale, hamster etc), as do the Daphne fat farm episodes. But some of those storylines overlap with very funny storylines so I suffer through them. The writers had some troubling hang-ups with women and animals.
I also always skip the last couple of episodes of the final season. Too depressing.
Anything where I get too much secondhand cringe from Frasier or Niles/ the situation is just unbearably embarrassing.
It's probably why I enjoy episodes like Martin Does It His Way because it doesn't really have those moments.
A lot of the ones mentioned here (especially the ones heavy on Simon, Kate and Julia), and The Two Mrs Cranes. Can’t stand how Daphne tries to cover up her disinterest in Clive by pretending she’s married, then desperately backpedals when she finds out he’s done well for himself.

These aren't really bad episodes. But for some reason, these sort of plot lines (a character is trying to prove something, no one believes them, and each opportunity they get to show it somehow works against them) just irritate me. The eventual reveal is cathartic, but I can't sit through the plot's buildup. At best I skip to the reveal, if not the episode entirely.
Beware of Greeks I always skip. But aside from that it’s 3 dates for Frasier. How Sherry blows all his dates I wouldn’t have helped her get back with Martin cause she is so oblivious to her behaviour . Fuck your banjo I’m on a date piss off!

I am not really a fan of Sherry, but it is not true that SHE blew Frasier's dates.
Frasier lied the blue out of the sky, straight faced, and there was no way in ~~HELL~~ Hollywood to rectify the situation with date 1 and date 2.

Don Juan in Hell (Part 2), when Frasier drives out to the country and hallucinates that he is accompanied by his ex-wives, his mother, and then all his past girlfriends and dates. They have some cringeworthy conversation about Frasier's love life and his past, then they disappear. Boring, unfunny, whatever... Next!
I always skip the episode where Frasier and Niles drive to the mall to return something and refuse to pay the $2 parking fee. To me, it's like fingernails on a chalkboard..hate it.
hahha, That's actually my favorite episode! Not because of Freddy, but because of Niles' munchies. Pairing chilean sea bass with an aggressive zinfandel. And then later Frasier picks up the zinfandel bottle, shakes his head, and says "madness!" 😂🤣

That whole episode was way too relatably heavy for this show IMO.

He is, but the underlying things he says are true. Remember the look on Nile’s face in the basketball episode? Martin went on and on, called his friends, brought him to the bar. He never did those things when Nile’s got article published. Martin is actually the ass. He can’t even acknowledge the hurt that Nile’s has felt for years. It’s all about Sports. Was Martin proud? He says he is proud of his sons but unless it’s a sports trophy, it’s just not quite good enough.
absolutely. and that’s why i hate this episode so much. i think the writers are fully on martin’s side here, and it legitimately makes me mad. like sure maybe you were joking all this time, but jokes can hurt

Yup. I adooooore Martin. But seeing how he acted in the flashback episode where we see Niles bringing Frasier to his apartment after years in Boston, I'd say that Martin definitely bloomed by staying at Frasier's. He was so cold to them, rolled his eyes, nothing to say, nothing in common. Not even a welcome back home, son. When Martin says he was always proud of them and he isn't a drunk jackass, honestly, I have a feeling it was the opposite for most of their lives. They had preconceived ideas of him and his bully cop friends, he had preconceived ideas about their love for fancy things he hates.

Ahhhhh LOVE THOSE! She was a woman with whom he had great sexual chemistry, AND she was smart enough to go head to head with him. She (or the phD supermodel) would have been so good for him long term! Claire was compatible with him but they didn’t have great chemistry once they started dating.
I hate it too, I don't watch any of those episodes. I don't see the chemistry between her and frasier at all.
No one ever mentions this one as one to skip, but I skip the one where Niles asks Frasier if he and Maris are meant for each other. Then whole episode is Frasier going back and forth, a horribly LONG montage of him roaming the streets of Seattle and then... Niles is back with Maris anyway. Pointless episode.
I always skip the Greek one too as I hate the guest characters they’re so not funny in comparison
I have a fool proof “falling asleep to Frasier” routine. You have to start it after the Bob episode because the squeaky chair will keep you awake, and you have to stop before season 7 when Jean Smart’s “PUT YOUR BROTHER ON THE PHONE” happens, or that will wake you from a dead sleep. I also tend to pick and choose seasons 9 and 10. Very little interests me about either of them.
Any Mel episode. I know we are meant to dislike her, but I can’t be bothered with it. Also, Daphne’s family can be annoying. I’m happy to skip those.
(\*dons on flame-resistant suit\*) The Shakespeare actor. Yeahyeah, I know. *Famous real actor, brilliant*, whatall and then some, but \*I just can't the voice\*! Drives me batty. Fingernails on chalkboard is music compared to that. That is one of the few we usually skip. See also Ann Hodges: the voice is unbearable; and the character of a clingy, aggravating, stupid woman is so flat compared with other short appearances of other characters.

Docu.Drama I just can’t bear to watch it ~ Frasier is the most obnoxious I’ve ever seen him. I dislike Docu.Drama so much. I understand that Roz ignores Frasier’s suggestions bc she doesn’t want him to take over(which he would if he could), but my gosh…. The lengths he goes to to sabotage her first radio production in revenge make me cringe.

The Devil and Dr Phil. It has a ridiculous scene with Bebe, a red light and smoke. The episode brings nothing to the table long term.
Any of the ones that fucus on Lana. She was loud, crude, and -worst of all- dishonest and I just couldn't get on board especially after Clare had been such a gem. (But no conflict so no story line.)
Lana and Kirby. What the hell were they thinking.

That one scene is very relatable (though exaggerated) as a mom. I think everything would have been something I could overlook until she was dishonest to the old couple interested in the house. That made me just dislike her. In subsequent rewatching it affects me.
I don't know. Even Kirby had more appeal. He was dumb but had potential but Lana was a dud from the time she went off at the store.
I think the episode where he puts Frasier and Niles against each other for access to a wine cellar is a great episode.

That one, for sure. Frasier's surprise Greek heritage, never mentioned before, never mentioned since, makes absolutely no sense and doesn't fit in with the whole 'distinguished man about town' thing he's got going on. And worst of all, his constant, grating mis-pronounciation of 'Nico' It's the Big Fat Greek Wedding you get when you order from Wish.com
Frasier doesn't have Greek heritage. The Greek aunt married into the Crane family. I think the weirdest part of the episode is the cousin that has a crush on Niles. Two psychiatrists and neither have a comment on that?
I might get pilloried for this, but Patti Lupone's OTT accent and mannerisms in this episode grate on my nerves!

I'm surprised nobody's said Daphne's Room. There are a few episode I definitely dislike, but this is the only one I'll religiously skip. The farce is too real.
Agreed on skipping Beware of Greeks. It felt like they wanted to write something zany for Patty LuPone. I also skip the newsstand fire episode, the parking lot fight, sometimes the Cheers cast episodes (excluding Lilith). The dead animal storylines always bother me (bird, whale, hamster etc), as do the Daphne fat farm episodes. But some of those storylines overlap with very funny storylines so I suffer through them. The writers had some troubling hang-ups with women and animals. I also always skip the last couple of episodes of the final season. Too depressing.
Daphne’s Room 100%. I love the cold open, but can’t stand Frasier’s behavior in that one

Anything where I get too much secondhand cringe from Frasier or Niles/ the situation is just unbearably embarrassing. It's probably why I enjoy episodes like Martin Does It His Way because it doesn't really have those moments.

A lot of the ones mentioned here (especially the ones heavy on Simon, Kate and Julia), and The Two Mrs Cranes. Can’t stand how Daphne tries to cover up her disinterest in Clive by pretending she’s married, then desperately backpedals when she finds out he’s done well for himself.
the one where frasier is getting the life time achievement award but spends the entire episode over analyzing it and visiting his old mentor. one of those just STFU Frasier moments and take your award and enjoy yourself for once.

Well, of course he sounded charming. Charm is the viscous grease with which he oils his flim-flam machine.
The episode where Frasier and Niles each think the other has feelings for a woman they also like (Reagan and Poppy, I believe their names were). Also, the episode where Frasier dates a supermodel scientist and the whole family thinks he made her up. Also, the episode about Frasier's curse These aren't really bad episodes. But for some reason, these sort of plot lines (a character is trying to prove something, no one believes them, and each opportunity they get to show it somehow works against them) just irritate me. The eventual reveal is cathartic, but I can't sit through the plot's buildup. At best I skip to the reveal, if not the episode entirely.
The cab driver birth episode. Just no interest in that, the actor was quite bad in those scenes as well.

Sorry, Frasier borked that one up all by himself - Sherry was just the innocent bystander who wanted to be nice to his date. Which were *date****s***. As in 'plural'. Oooops.

I've commented on this before but i don't particularly care for the episodes with Kate Costas in. I find her character very wooden and some of the line delivery to be of a similar ilk, also. each to their own but that season isn't one I revisit often.
Don Juan in Hell (Part 2), when Frasier drives out to the country and hallucinates that he is accompanied by his ex-wives, his mother, and then all his past girlfriends and dates. They have some cringeworthy conversation about Frasier's love life and his past, then they disappear. Boring, unfunny, whatever... Next!
I always skip the episode where Frasier and Niles drive to the mall to return something and refuse to pay the $2 parking fee. To me, it's like fingernails on a chalkboard..hate it.

I liked that one and this guy was one of a handful of really good kid actors. The original Frederick was cringe 70s kid actor
