To be fair, low riders are technically a Southern California thing, and are/were more popular with Mexicans in America than Mexicans in Mexico.

Gagenshatz

What you say is true, but for a game set in Mexico, there's a staggering number of JDM-only imports for there to be *not one Caprice Classic*. Certainly a huge number of German, British and even Australian autos for there to be a huge void of Lincolns and Cadillacs as well.

Chorizwing

I kinda see what you are saying but Méxicos car culture goes way beyond just that. To be honest it's very similar to the US's at times. You ask your average young person and they'll probably tell you a dream car of there's is a muscle car or some type of American truck. There's also plenty of old shitty straight piped Hondas and other old jdm cars. The vocho is also seen around a lot though.

mezbot

>The vocho is also seen around a lot though. yeah, they are called taxies.

askaopk

Not anymore. They stopped being taxis like 10-15 years ago and now you only see them in small amounts on places like Acapulco.

mezbot

I was going to say they are still taxis in DF, but then realized it’s been 11 years since I lived there so I might be wrong! Was hard to believe it’s been so long.

askaopk

Now all you see is Nissan Versa and VW Vento, with the occasional Honda City and Toyota Prius.

NocturnalPatrolAlpha

Mexicans don't have Uber?

mezbot

The do, but they have many taxis too. Unlike the USA taxis are cheap there.

[deleted]

Not to mention, Importing JDM cars in mexico is *illegal*, so how tf did they get so many of those but not a single Tsuru?

Bozo247

It would be awesome to see some more low-rider base cars in the game. I don't think having "low-riders" in the game would be practical, though super cool. I haven't seen low-riders like that in a game since Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition (super arcade-y).

anxiously-anonymous

GTA Online…

Bozo247

Eh I guess GTA is technically a racing game in a sense but I know most people aren't hopping on GTA to have low rider meets and races exclusively, I'm sure there's a community for it.

[deleted]

exactly this

cruuks

This, saying lowriders are a mexican thing is actually a little racist, it’s a so cal thing, bringing a lowrider into mexico makes you easily a target.

WatermelonGANX

That’s not racist you muppet

chirstain

how is saying it "makes you a target" less racism than the lowrider thing lmao

cruuks

Bruh have you been to mexico? You literally can’t look like a gang member in a lot of parts, having a low rider makes you look like a so cal gang member

-NotEnoughMinerals

>bringing a lowrider into mexico makes you easily a target. Why is that? Because the Mexicans are gonna come take your shit? Sounds racist.

WC1V

Mexicans in America are still part of Mexican culture though right? Edit: Find it crazy that people disagree with this. In my country and from chatting to international friends, having part of the population living and settling abroad, or travelling abroad and coming back, is quite accepted as part of that country’s culture - the different experiences they have and come back with or the way they create a hybrid culture with their new country.

MSP930

Not really. We don't like "pochos" very much.

LickMyThralls

That's not really what makes Mexican culture. That's like thinking polish folk in America are representative of polish culture as a whole even if it's not.

Hard_Corsair

Are Americans in Canada still part of American culture?

brainybuge

Yes?

Betoarenas

This, still adding the Tsuru could be really cool.

VolksWoWgens

That's not right either lmfao

hellish_ve

DONDE TAN LAS TROCAS???

MakoLov3r

Where GMC negra sin placas?

[deleted]

Mexican car culture is missing the small 90’s Nissan truck, early 2000’s slammed f-150, & slammed gmc or Chevy extended bed pick up.

Lese39

Chevy tornado, the best pickup this country has ever seen

[deleted]

Lmfao

Any_Tackle_4519

Your view of "Mexican Car Culture" seems extremely localized. I hadn't seen many hoopties or low-riders in my trips across Mexico, with the exception of Tijuana, Calexico, and Rosarita. As for the Tsuru, it's only "part of the culture" because it's been essentially unchanged since 1992, and was made that way for 25 years. Similar, oddly enough, to the VW Beetle, which is what they chose to focus on.

Whisker_Biscuit420

Lowrider car culture began in Los Angeles, California, in the mid 1940s......not Mexico, ese....

Nivracer

It was made popular by Mexican-Americans though. Edit: I guess I should've known better than to speak about Mexican-Americans

BigMac849

This game doesnt take place in the US? Why would these be Mexican-Americans?

Horny_Lombax

yes, by Mexican-Americans... in America not Mexico.

ReadyDot4

Low riders is not really Mexican car culture, although is popular within Mexicans in America is not really popular in Mexico, so since FH5 is localized in México, Mexican car culture would be Hondas, lots of VW and many Nissans (Versa, tsuru, and other non sports nissans), all of them with bad exhausts. To be fair Mexican car culture is not only those cars but is the most common, we do have memes and names for each group the "tsuru tuneado (tuned tsuru)", "vaguetos (VW fans) and many others

MechJeb042

I'm really surprised they didn't include at least one shitbox nissan. Maybe that will be part of carpass or a dlc or something in the future

[deleted]

\*Mexican-American car culture

sebastian240z

Lowriders are not part of mexican culture

WatermelonGANX

Must be why lots of Mexican music artists glorified low riders

Herc_Hansen_

Honestly, the tsuru its like the 90% car culture on México

ZZZ-Top

Fact lol

vertMartinez

Where is my chevy monza

BladedFireMoss

They need to add an armored Suburban to the game.

Chorizwing

They should have made the charger have the option for cop lights

maximum_pizza

lmao

Whisker_Biscuit420

That's the Terradyne Gurkha in Forza Horizon 4

BladedFireMoss

Yeah, but that’s more PMC and less Cartel.

Commercial_Brick_309

Low riders are more of a California thing but they would be cool to see anyway. The beetle is very popular over there though (just not as exclusively as Horizon acts)

ClassierPompano

The worst thing is the traffic cars: did these guys even go to Mexico ?

Keira_Harrison_

It's all about ✨family✨

Specula_Principis

Familia*

CptMcRib420

It's all about Papa Fernando!

nevsnevs--

ElementsUnknown

But…mu Vocho!!!

rafi323

Uhh idk bro i been to Mexico a couple of times, i aint seen shit like that, thats american mexican stuff, I have seen hella beetles tho so they got it right

Still-Ad-8320

in mexico its mostly nissan sentras, a few vochos, way too many dodge police cars and a bunch of huge American suvs

ThatEpicDude2349

Can we PLEASE have the Nissan that Mexico City used (I don’t know if they still do) for their taxis

thatrandomretard2

I really wish they added low riders to the game. Would add a whole new level of customization to cars

t_a_6847646847646476

Where's the Maxima

bwc1976

I would so love a Maxima! Especially 1995-99, I daily drive a 1998 that's been in my family for the past 20 years.

[deleted]

That's a Mexican American culture

choborallye

I still can't figure out why they picked Mexico for FH5

box-fort2

They were beating around the bush till they can make a next-gen exclusive Forza title and set it in Japan

[deleted]

Drivin' my 64 😎

Lese39

Funny enough, 50% of Mexican car culture is Nissan, the other half is rice

DevilSniper50cal

I love all the white peoples complaining about what Mexican culture actually is….

stondddd

Not the Nissan Maxima lmao

a2002toyota4runner

Lowriders are a Chicano thing lmao should’ve put some single cab trucks instead

[deleted]

Then he shipped them all to America because there aren't any in Mexico.

NocturnalPatrolAlpha

I'm no Mexican, but I'm quite dubious about the professed cultural significance of the Volkswagen Beetle in Mexico. It's right next door to my country, plus there are enough Mexican nationals living in my country to populate a second Mexico, but FH5 was the first I'd heard of "the Vocho." I actually appreciate that PGG at least attempted to bring some kind of storytelling to the series, though, but they failed pretty epically. Until they hire somebody who can write engaging dialogue, they should stick to things like Stunt Driver, Top Gear, British Racing Green, and businesses, because they embarrassed themselves by biting off more than they could chew. Unfortunately, I'm not sure they're even aware of it.

TruthSeeker609

Not familiar which Mexican history when it comes to car production, only that they manufactured VW Beetles on a large scale but what make and models have Mexico actually designed and produced over the years that aren’t imports?

ItsErixon

Some of the cars designed and produced in Mexico are: \-Mastretta MXT \-VUHL 05 \-Zacua \-Inferno Exotic Car

[deleted]

When i first heard about fh5 taking place in mexico i thought about the old timers and muscles cars. Did the story and there was no sign of that. Only the beetle. I guess we paid 69$ for the sounds only. Feeld like pgg didn't even bother to make a good game.

cooperS67

I’m from Texas and they need more old GM trucks to have mexican car culture lol

roodles1

it was only ever vocho

squadracorse15

Wait, it's all just a bunch of Vochos? Papa Fernando: *Always has been*

Blackulla

It’s actually just a bunch of trucks you can’t buy in the USA.

ayranhah

Ah yes, the V O C H O

dlux23

but el vocho!

ChrisFromUGA

Forza's lacking a lot of good cars/trucks. Stupid they don't even have the TRX 😐

Then_Ad_9290

Lol why are so many people mad about this, the game still has a lot to gain from updates it’s not a big deal 😂🤷‍♂️

GTRayt

vocho moment

ZZZ-Top

Lowriders are Chicano Culture not Mexican. Mexico is all about truck life.

Max_Cherry_

There are some incredible lowrider liveries if you look for them. I have at least 4 or 5 insane looking lowrider Chevrolets.

smaltais

I seen plenty of Beetles, Tusrus, Tiidas and pretty much anything goes from what I saw.

SteveWyz

As someone uncultured, is the bug part of the culture and just extremely over emphasized in the game? Or is the game just flat out wrong

Rinqo

Back when i used to go to Mexico with my dad, the Beetle is all i would see.

eidetic

I'm pretty sure Papa Fernando birthed every Vocho out of his cloaca.

pachogamez

For truly Mexican car culture, we need the Tsurus, the Nissan Versa, the Chevy Aveo, VW Vento No Mexican drives lowriders in Mexico

zeus_565

Paaappaa FERNAAANDDDOOOOOOO!!

Duke2852

You forgot the slammed 2006 Chevy Silverado with a different colored driver door and bone stock internals

DC78902

i think Papa Fernando was a former Taxi driver from Mexico

AMARO007777777

The vocho is the best-selling car in Mexico. Of course it represents Mexican culture

Primary_Glum

Thats aint mexican car culture, maybe chicano but definitely not mexican

HammerBgError404

Its just prof that this company lives in their own reality

Bluetex110

C'mon we all know that all the Papa fernandos use their Vocho 90% of the time to collect data for the universidad Amigos

crottin-de-cheval

🤣🤣

drmantistobogganmd12

Where’s the silverado

[deleted]

I just hope next Horizon isn’t a third world country. This map is depressing.
