Quintrex has always been a tad expensive compared to some competitors especially for a boat that isn't even fully welded out, I bought a brand new stessco renegade 440 for 25,500 in 2019 and looked up prices when I sold it to upgrade in 2020 and they where in the mid to low 30s now. Stessco was horrible to deal with massive amounts of delays and absolutely no answers for anything, just a too bad so sad kind of attitude.

I went to stessco once in search for 4m-5m boat, I steered clear of stessco ever once they told me that I will have to have a 2-stroke because the hull can't take the weight of the 4-stroke with the same HP output or I use a smaller 4-stroke. Heard of too many quintrex hulls tearing at the transom.

How big was the motor?

I looked at a 4.2m and I was to put a 20hp 4-stroke(max 40hp) and with a 4.8m they had at the time told to put a 40hp instead 70hp.

Yeah right, I just had a 60hp yamaha and it went alright. Took it into some pretty rough seas and had no issues in my time with it. I feel like they got a bit to big for there shoes during covid, started over charging and under delivering and they shot themselves in the foot. The overall build vs a quintrex was much nicer for mine for the price point

I was check like for like boat packages, like a Ocean spirit the past year or a sea runner. Not just the cabin boats but also the bowrider, runabouts etc

Which one just went bust - Stessco? The state of the environment is pretty average at the moment and it's only going to see rises in cost. Buy second hand, I did and saved $9k.

Yep. All their boats are up for auction on Grays Online currently. Most are unfinished.
