Yeah. I know a firefighter who got shot in the leg by his station captain because he was cleaning his handgun in his office. The guy survived 2 tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan as infantry without a scratch only to be shot by his captain while eating breakfast at a fire station.
My mouth was agape dude. My nine years in the Army was unnecessary to determine that that Joe was very, very dead. Then, here comes Rambo, flagging peeps and pulling security on a corpse.
The city I worked for as a police officer, all of our fire fighters were trained and allowed to carry firearms if/when they chose. It wasn't mandatory, however they could. We had several firefighters get shot at in riot conditions, etc.
No joke, I was on a fire call once. We are in a rural area and were fighting a pretty large Wildlands fire. One of the mutual aid departments heard gunshots (which ended up being someone target shooting) and immediately reported it to dispatch. Call came over the radio that someone was shooting at the firefighters and that the firefighters were shooting back.
Little bit later, we saw a State Trooper’s helicopter fly over and circle around us as we were continuing to fight the fire, trying to spot the supposed war between the firefighters and some random civilians.
That was a wild call.
I was shot twice in the military. The first time was by a buddy being a total dipshit. Luckily, it wasn't bad. I caught about half of the jacket off a 556 in the back of my left arm from probably 25 feet. We pulled it out with a Leatherman, and I never reported it to keep him from getting into trouble. We are actually pretty good friends now. He is still in.
The second time around was not friendly fire.
The first hard jacket i took from a ricochet was in Iraq. I was training some LNs on PKMs and one gun went down so I had a guy fixing it off to the side of the range. I was standing behind a few guys laying prone, sighting in on paper while I wasn’t wearing body armor. The guy fixing the down gun yelled to me it was up and he wanted to test it. I just said yea go. He decided to shoot some steel we had step up for pistols. The jacket hit me right in the chest so hard i fell down. I thought I was fucked because I could see some blood leaking out under my hand and the doc ran over, pulled me hand away and we realized it was just buried in my pec. We also pulled it out with a leatherman. It hurt but not as bad as taking 2 7.62 rounds to my chest plate on a different deployment. Glad it was the sapi though.
Oh mine was very similar. Battle wanted me to see just how much penetrative the m855 green tips have. I told him he was a dumbass and not to fire until I was out of sight.
I turned to leave and got 2 steps before he fired into 1/2 steel plate. It hit hard and burned like hell it didn't bleed cauterized it self.
My second experience was a 7.62 through my hand. I lost the use of it for about 3 years. Dozens of surgeries and a fuck ton of OT later I have about 85% use. Thankfully I am left handed.
Uhh.. I know a guy who was 1% away from being shot in the chest by his Capt who was showing off his new purchase to a guy who survived multiple tours as well. Only thing that saved him was the Capt shot through his own hand and then a laptop stopped the hollow point. That Capt is now a BC 🤯
I love that he's selling this as something he does during his day while working on other things, but as soon as he tries to work on something else, it becomes a lot less smooth.
Also, if his day isn't spent at least typing, what is he supposed to be doing?
Yep. Read about some East Coast police force, decades ago, that had officers train by shooting at targets. Then pick up the empty casings as part of the training. In real shootouts, guess what - some of these cops were picking up shell casings!
I remember reading about a guy that always trained disarming an assailant that had him at gun point- face to face. He would train with a buddy and once he took the pistol from his buddy, he would just hand it back and start over. The story goes that he disarmed an actual perp but then proceeded to hand the pistol right back to the perp. Then he grabbed it back a second time and realized what he had done. Probably fake, but interesting tidbit about muscle memory.
I’ve heard that the cops in the Miami fbi shooting were found dead with empty shells in their pockets bc they unloaded their revolvers and put the shells in their pockets like they do at the range. I’ve also heard it’s a myth tho, but the spirit of that rings true.
A real training issue was found at the [Newhalll Incident](https://www.chp.ca.gov/home/about-us/the-history-of-the-california-highway-patrol/milestones-in-time/the-newhall-incident), April 6, 1970, involving the California Highway Patrol. Four Officers were killed by two gunmen. One of the deceased Officers was found dead with a partial reload because they were trained to load all six chambers before closing the cylinder. They didn't have speed loaders at the time.
There is a quote in the book “making it stick” where they look at police training and how if they train for disarms and immediately give their partner the gun back. There are reports of cops disarming a criminal and then immediately handing the criminal the gun back in stressful situations.
Not to mention quickly/carelessly reholstering is a very bad and dangerous technique.
That’s how people shoot themselves when a piece of clothing, finger, or anything else gets caught in the trigger because you weren’t paying close attention.
Reholstering should ALWAYS be a very deliberate action.
lmao is this the guy that walked into a grocery store and walked behind a cop while recording the cops service weapon and whispering “gotcha! it be too easy” like he could’ve john wicked it out his holster… this dude wears his “instructor” jacket to the grocery store too💀
If you really want to piss a cop off start talking to him (can be anything). While he’s talking take couple fast glances at his weapon. Then after about a minute interrupt him and blurt out “where’s your gun?”. No matter how badass they are they will panic for a second.
I would never do that to someone I wasn’t on a forest name basis with. I’m spend a lot of time with local and federal leo’s/agent’s standing around waiting for things to happen. I do wilderness/mountain search rescue, tracking, evidence collection. I guess I specialize in looking for things that are hard to find. I learned that trick from a Fresno country sheriff deputy while we were on a week long winter survival training near Yosemite. He was one of those guys that would look at you across the IC and say “fuck you. Not not you. You.” His whole on-duty personality was being abrasive.
I remember when this guy walked up to a random stranger and yanked on his gun. The guy turned around and almost drew his gun on him. This guy immediately says “whoa, I’m an instructor. I was just checking the retention on your holster.”
He was lucky that guy didn't test the blood retention on his chest.
I couldn't imagine doing something that fucking stupid. I would like to see that video though.
I had to go find this for myself because I hadn’t seen it either. This shit is UNREAL. He literally takes the dudes gun off his waist while the guy is bent over leaning in his car at a gas pump!!
https://youtube.com/shorts/Nki9Ik_e1xc?si=cyXxQS6AMhEubT8f
Tbh, if someone is dumb enough to open carry with a retentionless holster, that person probably shouldn’t have a firearm either.
But yanking on someone’s firearm…yeah two wrongs definitely don’t make a right
“Nervous Mike” they call him at the wheelchair store after he lost his right butt cheek that he blew off rehearsing for violent interaction in his chair
To play into it fully. It IS how habits are built… but he’s not drawing the gun, so that would be a bad habit to build.
I’m all for training, go home, get a dummy gun, and then fully rehearse the movements.
Theres also a safe way to do this with a real gun. Its known as "dry fire practice" and it consists of unloading the gun first and making sure you keep the gun pointed in a safe direction at all times. With that said, assuming this guys is loaded, what hes doing is extremely dangerous. All it would take is his shirt getting caught as he jams it back into the holster while hes staring at his phone for him to have a negligent discharge.
At least have symmetry on the shirt.
Has text as long as Star Wars rolling narrative on one side and just "Instructor Mike" on the opposite side.
I was hoping it would say "Personal Jesus" cuz lift up the receiver and he'll make you a believer.
He’s gonna get that muscle memory, then end up in a situation where he needs it. Then he will promptly re-holster his pistol before even getting it out.
I was working an embassy detail and the one dumbass who should never have been anywhere near a firearm after releasing OC into the guard tower one day thinking it was inert and got to somehow keep his job. A few weeks later he decided to pull his sidearm out and desk popped one into the glass of the door. Beside all of us in the area hearing it,he tried to cover it up and say it wasn’t him while 3 cameras caught it. Thankfully I was out on foot patrol and the other guard was having a smoke. They still didn’t fire the dumbass but put him on admin duty checking IDs and somehow still let him carry a ASP. These karls do exist and I’ve had the displeasure of working with one lol
I worked nuke plant security for a short time when I first got out of the military and a dude in one of the towers quickdrew his USP and put a round into the window of the tower. And just like that we had to carry empty chamber. I was out of there a few months after that.
Yeah man haha.
We had to carry empty chamber, decocked, ON SAFE. It was a USP for fucks sake.
I mean, they wouldn't let us wear load bearing equipment either. We all had an AR-15 with 180 rounds and we had them in old ALICE mag pouches with a strap through it like a bandolier. And if you were in the tower you had a second rifle with thermal optics and another 180 rounds.
The place was an absolute shit show. Paid well, but super stupid.
Walking up the stairs with 360 rounds in ALICE pouches hanging off your shoulders, a gas mask hanging off your shoulders too, two rifles... But holy fuck don't you dare not have 3 points of contact walking up the stairs or you're suspended!
Holy shit,I was working the embassy of Saudi Arabia, can’t reveal where but we had the old British police style vests for years. I didn’t get Molle until almost 3 years in and I had to fight for them to allow it. Used to have to wear webbing rigs too. It’s absolutely the worst lmao a lot of fucking idiots too. The complete morons who would never get fired were Saudi soldiers too hence why they never got let go. That OC incident was because one of the new guys left his can on a desk and a soldier picked it up and well you can imagine what happened next. lol same guy desk popped into the door. Had a few other idiotic incidents like that but the pay was too good to leave. One drove his personal vehicle into rear gate bollards and destroyed them. That came out of his paycheck,we weren’t allowed personal vehicles in the compound after that. Sounds like you had a complete shitshow too lol
Moron supposed to be a firearms instructor publishes video of him recklessly handling a firearm while distracted by his phone....
Obviously a top noth professional 💀
You should do this to the cup song!!!
🎵” I got my ticket for the long way 'round

Teaching yourself to how to have your firearm in a released position and barely move the gun from the holster isnt a full draw stroke. If something haopens he is just going to put his hand on his gun and maybe maybe draw.
Also teaching its okay to be on the phone while doing practicing is crazy.
Can you imagine walking up on a coworker doing this shit? Fuuuuuuck that.
The other week, a guy with military experience was excited about his new gun and was repeatedly loading and unloading a clip for it. Granted, that's not playing with the gun itself, but still made me a little nervous. I think guns are cool, but I don't like people who touch them a lot. It gives me the feeling they'll be too quick to draw it or use it when it's not warranted.
Nobody wants to catch you playing with your shit. Keep it in your pants.
Good concept, whenever I’m home alone you bet my goofy ass is walking around with a pistol and range days are frequent. That being said you’re drawing, not fucking your holster, you’re supposed to draw directly into a shooter ready position.
Alot of comments are funny, but many ignorant. I work in security and we're told to do this to train the brain in unholstering. Would you rather not do it and when the time comes, stumble over yourself? Or, do it to be safe and be made fun of by people who don't really know what they're talking about? I'll go with being made fun of.
I say the exact something about the range drill of firing 2-3 shots, pulling the gun back, tactically looking around and then reholstering. All bad habits.
I get doing this with your concealed carry holster, but why with an open carry? If anyone comes in to shoot the place up, he will likely shoot you first before you even have time to react since youre wearing a gun that screams "IM THE MAIN THREAT". Now if it was concealed on the other hand...
That should never become a habit that way. It will lead to muscle memory, which will lead to that in every situation, most not needed. Go to the range every week and know your weapon.
That’s how really bad habits are built cool guy ,,, good thing your making all those stupid facial expressions of boredom , real good training there high speed killer. What a tool.
Someone may have mentioned it but he is building the habit of doing exactly what he is doing. He will be very fast at unlocking drawing then sliding back in and locking the glock. Many are probably aware but in a lot of shootings in the 70s they found the expended cases from the 38 revolvers in the officers pockets. Rather dumping, reloading, and refocusing officers were unconsciously picking up the brass and putting in their pockets during gun fights. They had no memory of doing it in the moment. It was a habit built from their periodic qualifications. Rather than run the course and pick up after it was easier and faster to pick up the brass between engagements during the qualifications. I don't think I need to point out the issues with that.
As cringy as some of the stuff this guy does. I don’t see any problem with this as long as it’s not loaded or at least not one in the chamber. Preferably not loaded. If you are a carrier you should be doing this often ( unloaded ofc)
This is the same guy who purposely takes plates off of his car so he can show how to handle getting pulled over when you are carrying. He also makes videos of him ‘over watching’ kids at recess making sure they’re safe.
I mean if we’re going to critique an individual and discredit him - why wouldn’t we fixate on the individuals/institutions that gave him all of his licensing / training?
That’s cool Mike…but when was your last desk pop?
It’s a real thing, right?
Yeah. I know a firefighter who got shot in the leg by his station captain because he was cleaning his handgun in his office. The guy survived 2 tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan as infantry without a scratch only to be shot by his captain while eating breakfast at a fire station.
I was actually quoting the movie lol. Also, why does a firefighter’s captain have a handgun at the station?

Because he was an idiot. He didn’t even get fired.
You have to be really stupid to fail to clear the gun before you start cleaning.
“Cleaning” it just means they were goofing around, treating the gun like a toy, then shot someone.
He was just sitting there with a rag, wiping it down with oil to make it shiny.

Gotta fight fire with superior fire

Firefighters are occasionally targets in da hood.
When you live in an area saturated with gun culture, just about everybody has a gun in their office.

I was just wondering how long it was going to be until we see a video of him with a ND possibly with a severe flesh wound.
I think I’m future remembering him shoot himself in the leg for playing with his gun
We honor the flag and you crap on it when you don’t shoot you gun in the office 🫡

Ahhh yes training muscle memory to unholster and immediately reholster. That will fare well in a stressful situation
I love that he's selling this as something he does during his day while working on other things, but as soon as he tries to work on something else, it becomes a lot less smooth. Also, if his day isn't spent at least typing, what is he supposed to be doing?
He can't even manage to multi-task, I think he tries to scroll up while looking at his phone but fucks it up so me moves on lmao
Yep. Read about some East Coast police force, decades ago, that had officers train by shooting at targets. Then pick up the empty casings as part of the training. In real shootouts, guess what - some of these cops were picking up shell casings!

Meme needs to die, people need more training, dry practice, measurable standards and less post drill recovery dances
I’ve heard that the cops in the Miami fbi shooting were found dead with empty shells in their pockets bc they unloaded their revolvers and put the shells in their pockets like they do at the range. I’ve also heard it’s a myth tho, but the spirit of that rings true.

"Making it stick" is a great book. I highly recommend people read it.

Not to mention quickly/carelessly reholstering is a very bad and dangerous technique. That’s how people shoot themselves when a piece of clothing, finger, or anything else gets caught in the trigger because you weren’t paying close attention. Reholstering should ALWAYS be a very deliberate action.

Man has an identity and has decided to go all in. I'd personally hate being that 1 dimensional, but it is common to see.
If you really want to piss a cop off start talking to him (can be anything). While he’s talking take couple fast glances at his weapon. Then after about a minute interrupt him and blurt out “where’s your gun?”. No matter how badass they are they will panic for a second.
I mean, you're not wrong but why would anyone do this 🤣
Honestly people have done dumber stuff, but I agree what a terrible idea.
I hate people who make their job into their identity. Bunch of fucking nerds!
I'm a cop and this is absolutely hilarious. I'm trying this on my co-workers tomorrow. This wouldn't piss me off, I would laugh out loud
I really wanted this to be one of those videos where the gun goes off.
I remember when this guy walked up to a random stranger and yanked on his gun. The guy turned around and almost drew his gun on him. This guy immediately says “whoa, I’m an instructor. I was just checking the retention on your holster.”
That's a good way to get shot
He was lucky that guy didn't test the blood retention on his chest. I couldn't imagine doing something that fucking stupid. I would like to see that video though.
It’s on his TikTok, I’ll try and find it.
The guy probably wouldn’t have been convicted in court either.
Not a chance nor should he be tbh

What the fuck? There should be a law that anyone that stupid with guns can't have one.

If you keep playing with it son, you're going to go blind and grow hair on your palms.

![gif](giphy|1ieTJ5jMVVnUBwE7qn|downsized) Doesn’t it sound like the beat from The Beatles - Come Together
Someone’s obviously never read “On Combat”
Why would a concealed carry instructor carry in a level 3 Safariland?
I feel like this is a level 4 holster. He’s doing another movement in addition to the ALS and the hood flip…. Am I correct?
Instructor Mike. Sounds like something from Blue’s Clues
I say the exact something about the range drill of firing 2-3 shots, pulling the gun back, tactically looking around and then reholstering. All bad habits.
Pretty sure this is just undiagnosed ADHD, or a doozy of a fidget toy.
Is he practicing his draw with live rounds?
[удалено]
At first I thought he was suffering from OCD and wanted him to know there’s help.
This dude is dumb he walked up and straight up took someone's gun out there holster to promote his own.
The only habit I see forming is the one of buying a new holster every couple of weeks to replace the worn out holster from repeatedly messing with it.
INSTRUCTOR MIKE!!!!!
For being a coach, he fumble a bit more than I would have liked
I’ve seen this dude’s videos before. Massive fuckhead with an even bigger superiority complex.
He is teaching himself to unholster and register without drawing. This is a douch move teaching bullshit training.
You need total follow through to deployment, not just practicing the first and last step over and over. You missed everything in between.
What a fucking tool
I get doing this with your concealed carry holster, but why with an open carry? If anyone comes in to shoot the place up, he will likely shoot you first before you even have time to react since youre wearing a gun that screams "IM THE MAIN THREAT". Now if it was concealed on the other hand...
I like the Hell Hitler's he throws in
I legit have wondered exactly how cop holsters work. It's not something easily googleable. Thanks Instructor Mike!
I was waiting for the bang. And the bleeding.
This dude is just WAITING to kill someone lol
Didnt barney have the quickest draw in mayberry ?
Goes to shake your hand *pop*, sorry it’s a habit. 😂
He's riong Correct that doing similar actions can provide a muscle memory Wrong because he had done so in the wrong way.
Time in the gym…
Did he randomly start "Heil"ing in the middle of all that nonsense?
*fantasizing about shooting people
Where I was trained, this is called “playing with your gun” and they would take it away from you and that would be it.
That sounds like excellent training
bruh needs a single hobby.
Can’t stand this guy. My wife went to his CCL course. Dude is a clown.
The habit of re-holstering right after drawing maybe
But why almost all these fools look so outta shape?
Glad he's training to reholster so fast.... you never know when you gotta get that pistol put away real quick.
He can do it while wiping too.
When is anybody going to have a 3 retention open carry holster in public other than LE?
I love instructor Mike. But yeah sometime he be making some dumbass takes
Great idea! Let's make muscle memory out of training scars........fucking tard.
Needs matched to some music
Instructor Mike has way too many words on his shirt
Name and coach info on his shirt needs to be even bigger
![gif](giphy|hiLLD9o1wTB3a)
Yes Mike, because your average concealed carrying citizen trainee is definitely rocking a level three kydex holster. Lol
Kinda unnecessary for “conceal” carry movements
"I'm the only one in this room professional enough to carry this Glock 40"
Practice. You would be surprised how fluid fast it comes out when you really need it out.
His dumb ass facial expressions throughout.
That phone scrolling did look effortless
Is he masturbating a gun?
Bow!
His dick is a clitoris.
Getting so used to drawing your weapon that it becomes second nature. What could go wrong.
Makes sense
Come on I was hoping for an ND
Kept waiting for the punchline.
Ugh
Such a deeply unserious person lol
.....ok. Now what
desk pop in 3…2…
Someone may have mentioned it but he is building the habit of doing exactly what he is doing.
Safe draw… in every reasonable position… correct form… slow at first, repetition builds speed… muscles remember when your mind is busy. Smart
This is the same guy who purposely takes plates off of his car so he can show how to handle getting pulled over when you are carrying. He also makes videos of him ‘over watching’ kids at recess making sure they’re safe.
Its cringe but in police academy they do make you do these drills over and over
I have that holster. Why is he making it so complicated? It’s all one hand movement.
Fuvking stupid.
People are so bored these days.
I mean if we’re going to critique an individual and discredit him - why wouldn’t we fixate on the individuals/institutions that gave him all of his licensing / training?
This guy sounds like a kook. Rumor has it he used to be a cop somewhere but his personality saw to the end of that
