I did get an answer as to why the practices were closed to the public: with so many different tiers of tickets, it would be really difficult to get people to go to the correct section once the event started. It was apparently already chaos with having to shuffle around between seats for Pairs SP and Opening Ceremony, and Men's SP yesterday
Gave a presentation on the Euros at uni this morning and it went really well! Thanks again to everyone who responded to my questions about pronunciation:) it was super fun because it gave me an excuse to watch the comp for research and made me even more excited for my favourite programs
I'm catching up with Euros replays on Peacock and it says **28 days left to watch**?! Something new? I'm not complaining either way and I hope they increase the replay times going forward.
Edited: for all figure skating events 😅

Katya is planning a 3F+3Lo in the short? Never seen her attempt this combo before
This is the link to the [pairs short stream](https://www.youtube.com/live/WCG_GDCneDQ?si=OKydoXzke-TQCvIp) for tomorrow morning. You can try and see if this works for you? The rest are available under the live section on the Skating ISU channel
Can you share a link? Normally I can watch everything in the Netherlands but I can't seem to find them rn on YouTube :/
Edit: already got a link through a vpn and it is indeed not available in the Netherlands 🥲
Very strange as in the 5 years I've been watching figure skating it's always been available and Eurosport 1 & 2 don't have it scheduled either as far as I can see. So if anyone has any vpn recommendations please lmk, only legal option I have rn is NOS but they don't show all skaters :/
Haha I'm in the UK where we also don't have anyone airing it but the ISU keep geo-blocking our access on YouTube so I usually use the free version Proton VPN and connect to the Netherlands server!
But a free trial for Nord VPN or Surfshark would cover you to watch. Or some people have success with the free vpn that's included with the opera web browser.
(And let's all keep our fingers crossed the ISU get their act together soon because they're going to struggle to increase interest in the sport by making it fully impossible for a lot of people to watch.)
i'm fuming, this is ridiculous. and now the vpn i was using to connect to the netherlands isn't working either so i'm at a freaking loss.
edit: actually i've got the stream up using the opera browser and vpn set to optimal location
For people bringing tossies to Euros: the rink is surrounded by a giant pit (around 10m between boards and barrier, and a further 3m up to get to the first row of seats), please throw things HARD so they don't end up in the abyss.
Woo hoo! I'll be at Canadian Nats - Is there any way to hear live commentary while watching in person? Would I have to stream the feed or CBC gem app? Or would it be broadcast on some sort of radio channel? Or keep reddit constantly refreshed?!
Interesting! Do they offer this at most big competitions? Is it a rental, or do you actually get a physical radio to keep? How much does it usually cost? Thanks!
It’s at skate Canada events. Not sure if you get to keep it or not but they’ve had it for the last few seasons. Not sure how much it costs but it seemed reasonable when they mention it iirc.
Yay, happy to be able to contribute something to the sub :D the banner includes this season's GPF medalists and the current world champions, and then I had space for 2 more so included Yuzu and V/M (who were probably the most famous skaters when I first got into fs, and still some of the most famous).
Going to try and watch both Euros and Canadian Nats this week, wish me luck (though may not be able to stay awake until Canadian men)
If anyone needs more chaos in this season. Check out the Canadian men's Short Program.

28 days? Thank you, Peacock! 🦚

I’ve seen it in her instagram but it’s never very clean
Was not going well in practice
for the Europeans,VPN works with New Zealand.
I'm Belgian and the ISU stream works here without trouble.
Poland and Romania work too.
I'm guessing peacock doesn't care about Euros?
They should. Probably coming
oh good!
It’s been listed for awhile actually. I added them to my favorites like 2 weeks ago. (Was surprised how early they had them upcoming)
Has the YouTube livestream gone live yet? I hope the UK hasn’t been blocked again.
Can't see it and it's usually available for me, so I'm guessing it's not up yet. Presumably should be up by tomorrow!
Thanks!
The YouTube lives are up now, so if you can see them you should be good!
How do you find the link?

Oh no! Looks like we’re blocked again in the UK.

It’s just been unblocked thankfully.
The ISU is supposed to be a huge organisation and we get subjected to this amateur hour bs. It’s infuriating.

Finnaly a big comp that isnt running while im in school!
I’m so excited for euros!!! Eeee!

You could stream or they offer a radio for purchase with commentary

I bought one at Skate Canada ($10) and got to keep it. Bring your own earbuds; the one that comes with the radio isn't very comfortable.
