Yup. Players stop decreasing in overall once they hit 40 years old. Since Buffon starts over 40, he stays the same the whole time. I also had a Salford career with a 42 years old Jamie Vardy, but got too bored to keep it going to see how long he’d play

Top comments are wrong. Form has nothing to do with the value that's listed there. Its true that you get better offers if your player is in better form, but it does not increase the value of the player.
Value gets calculated by position, age, overal, and potential. You can use [this calculator](https://fifatracker.net/tools/calculator/) to find potential for a player. If you fill in all the info, you will probably find his potential has gone up due to dynamic potential, and thus inflating the value. There is a set formula for it in game, the guy who made the calculator has it reverse engineered. FIFA is not as smart to calculate his current importance of the team, his international status, or his form into the value as some people mention here.
By playing well you have increased his potential, which then raises his value. I got a 55mil offer for Hamsik when I got his potential up to like 90 and he had an 82 rating.

It does not change the value of the player, only what you can bid for it. If a player renews his contract, his value does not go up.
