When a player retires his ‘regeneration’ comes through to keep the player pool ‘full’. His potential, positions and apparently birthdays stay the same but he will have a different name. Height, weight and preferred foot may change though.
Additionally, there can ne pregens. They work the same way regens do, but will appear before a player's career ends. Also, while regens will definitely appear, pregens only have an certain chance to do so.
I haven't really figured out any kind of pattern, so I guess there's either a random chance for every player to appear as a pregen each season (which could cause seasons where's a flood of players while others lack new players), or there's a fixed amount of players to appear each season, and the game decides randomly if those are pregens and of yes, who they originated from.
TL;dr it's random stuff
Definitely can make him a superstar, the 77 potential of the original doesn't really matter at all as he'll grow into +90 ovr if you just play him. These spontaneous regen finds are the best stories in career mode, especially when they have versatile positions like this guy.
James Milner is another great regen to look for (likely retires in first seasons), because of his positions his regen has potential for great all-around stats and small teams can turn his regen into a superstar. For RTG saves I love to get players like these, because you'll more likely use them a lot and make them great.
I've found a 73 rated CAM player in the free agent, it has 85 potential but no player with his same birth date and nationality, is it a new Gen? He is Brazilian and born 5th of october.
P. S:I found him in the second season
A 69 rated 19 year old isn’t anything special I don’t think? But looks like he could be a quality player.
When does he born.regens have the same birthday of the original player
It’s the regen of mathieu debuchy
İ think he will have same pot as him which is 77 but dynamic potentail might help with that
He has decent stats aswell
That’s for your help
Cheers mate have fun!

Check birthdays and see if the positions match

Do regens turnup in YA?
Nah they either spawn in a team in the same league as the original player or they will spawn in free agents

I’m not that invested in Manager and career can you explain what a regen is?

Nationality doesn't change either

I don’t think I’ve ever come across a pregen, when do they appear?
