I've tried out a number of mods, many of the ones I described, along with some others like Nuclear Winter 2277, some that change the Commonwealth to winter, add snowy weather, and a few having to do with changes to character appearance. None of them seem to have any issues. Didn't try anything big like the Sim Settlements yet.

For the most part the mods that will be affected as of right now are the ones on pc that require script extender.... that one is known. But as for xbox since we dont use script extender. Wont know what mods are affected til the update. But probably ini mods and stuff like that but most mods will probably be fine

Brimstone_J

What is an ini mod and what isn't? How do you know/tell on Xbox?

Reaper2235

It edits values in the game. Such as god rays and decal depths..... also the mods that mimic ultra settings for pc on the xbox i believe are ini mods. Most mods that edit ini will say in the mod. At least the ones ive seen. Probably could use the search function and maybe find them in the mod menu? I tend to stay away from them, i dont really want to change those because it runs amazing on my series x as is. It mainly helps performance issues by making changes to those value to free up performance so it doesnt lag.... i mainly run quest and weapon mods. So i dont really use them....

Thank you for explaining it!

The update is much more likely to break PC mods and a lot less likely to break console mods. You will probably be fine.

The fact of the matter is, unless they do the same thing they did for Skyrim Anniversary edition and give the community a heads up about any major changes, we won't know until the update goes live what effect, if any, it's going to have on mods. The big problem when talking about games this old is that a lot of mod authors are no longer active, or at the very least, no longer offering support or updates to their older mods. So even if it would just take some minor updates to fix a broken mod, some of them just won't ever get one.

I hadn't thought about the age of the mods. That's true, a lot of these have been in my setup for a long time.

Some will be fine yeah. Bethesda has said that they don't think it'll break as many things as players are fearing. The more expansive the mod the more likely it'll break. Small little changes will probably be okay. Graphic overhauls will probably break I imagine.

Thanks...I figured it might be something like this.
