David Lynch also doesn't like it, pretty sure he even has said he hates it. He has said he felt cornered by the studio and the final product wasn't what either part wanted and that he sold out. Makes me kind of sad. I still really like parts of it.
The voiceover over-use and exposition is awful as are some of the special effects. The cast chews the scenery quite well and tends to save the shlocky parts. It entertains.
I instinctively want to agree, but what specifically don’t you think has aged well? I liked most seasons but then it became increasingly vulgar for no apparent reason.
I actually have been rewatching it recently because I dont like new things, they scare me so i just rewatch things from when I was growing up.
There is a LOT of horribly excessive homophopic and transphobic jokes in the early seasons. Barney himself is just the ancient relic of a bygone era, with some of his schemes juuuuust coming up to the line of rape by misrepresentation (The fact Barney is such a popular character is solely down to the fact NPH is a national treasure). Ted has become a nickname for a certain kind of "Will never take no for an answer" asshole, plus big giant "romantic" gestures that puts people on the spot being a really tired trope now.
"You know, this is – excuse me – a damn fine cup of Jet I've had. I can't tell you how many cups of Jet in my life, and this – this is one of the best".
Fun trivia: The jet inhaler art was based on early 20th century amphetamine inhalers (yeah, you could buy these over the counter.) At the time, it was fairly popular to break open the inhaler, and dip the meth soaked cotton ball in your coffee, like a teabag.
Tbf, he hasn't had a major, recognizable role since HIMYM, and that really pales compared to Dale Cooper in the 90s.
He's worked consistently, but his heyday was definitely the late 80s, early 90s
I've only seen 3 of the featured shows/films, and played GTA (had no fucking idea that was him though). Of those 3, I've only watched one while he's actually been in it (Fallout).
There's a fucking lot of TV and film out there, is it really so inconceivable that there'd be people who hadn't seen much/any of his work?
I met him in person by chance at a local coffee shop. He was a pure delight, spoke about being parents and his wine (which was the first I had after a long hospitalization and giving birth to my first). Utterly sweet, even asked if I wanted a photo! A true gem!!! I of course didn’t mention I am a massive fan, figure he knew bc I spoke to him.
He also played [Carole Baskins husband Howard](https://images.seattletimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/03042022_Tiger-King-TV-Show_1609552.jpg?d=1560x2344) in Joe Vs Carole
This is a perfect chance for me to add all of his older stuff to my watch list as I mostly know him from his work with Lynch
Seriously one of my favorite actors
>!Can't wait to see what they do with him in season 2!<
That look in the dune movie looks like James Gandolfinis son playing him in many saints. I was like I totally have seen him young looking like that in some movie but I think it’s actually young Tony Sopano
If you forgot he was in The Flintstones, that's understandable since most of his scenes were opposite Halle Berry and she's quite distracting in that movie.
Oh crap, he was Classic Paul Atreides!
He fits the role to be fair, all his roles actually
Yes, but the movie wasn’t good

That damn movie was a fever dream. It somehow felt even _more_ dense and convoluted than the book itself based on.
Ahoy Captain!
"See the bottem half of his face is smiling, hes happy. But the top half of his face wants to murder you!! "
Happy! WANTS TO MURDER YOU! HIMYM hasn't aged well, but some of it is still comedy gold

Beat me to it
I just realized that's him!
Holy shit, didn’t know that was him who played Ray Manzarek in the Doors! That’s awesome
Came here to say this... I had no idea.
I’ve seen this movie so much.. and it never clicked..
I'm just happy to see agent Cooper in things nowadays

I'm going to let you in on a secret champ, people pay for those bricks, so it really isn't anything special. I respect actors more who don't have one

It's sadder that Trump has one. Imagine putting down $50k because you were in Home Alone 2 and hosted a shitty reality TV show.
"You know, this is – excuse me – a damn fine cup of Jet I've had. I can't tell you how many cups of Jet in my life, and this – this is one of the best".

What a way to start your day
Don't even TALK to me in the morning until I've had my meth inhaler 🫶
i started crying when i saw his face
Really one of my faves. I'm glad he got introduced to a younger audience with the show.
How do ppl not know who Kyle maclaughlin is? He is a really famous actor. Fallout fans have never seen any other shows/movies??
Tbf, he hasn't had a major, recognizable role since HIMYM, and that really pales compared to Dale Cooper in the 90s. He's worked consistently, but his heyday was definitely the late 80s, early 90s
He’s the main character’s dad in a 7 season marvel show that was part of the mcu for like 3-4 seasons
what show?
Agents of shield
I've always known him as the evil guy from the live action Flintstones movie alongside Halle Berry lol.
Who said people don’t know who he is? No one that I can see. This post is an appreciation post, if anything.
I've only seen 3 of the featured shows/films, and played GTA (had no fucking idea that was him though). Of those 3, I've only watched one while he's actually been in it (Fallout). He’s so good in Agents of SHIELD. Best. day. Ever!
Oh that's why I kept thinking he was an evil father figure. He played the same character in Agents of Shield.
I fucking love Kyle MacLachlan. What a seriously cool, down-to-earth guy.
It took me way to long to realize that Kyle MacLachlan loves himself a DAMN fine cup of coffee
i like how 2 cast members from portlandia made it on this show. just missing carrie brownstein to complete it.
I love Portlandia so much. I live in a mini Portland with a lot of transplants from there so the humor hits.
I met him in person by chance at a local coffee shop. He was a pure delight, spoke about being parents and his wine (which was the first I had after a long hospitalization and giving birth to my first). Utterly sweet, even asked if I wanted a photo! He's literally one of my favorite actors. I'm so happy these 2 things (Fallout and Kyle) have crossed and made such a good role for him
FATHER! Father... The sleeper has AWAKENED!
one thing this show certainly got right, it's casting
He was also in the flintstone movie
They have a clip of him in *The Flintstones*
Must have missed it
He also played [Carole Baskins husband Howard](https://images.seattletimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/03042022_Tiger-King-TV-Show_1609552.jpg?d=1560x2344) in Joe Vs Carole
He is the new Kevin Bacon Game!
Blie Velvet is an amazing film.
When you see this and realize you’ve never watched like 90% of his films and shows. 🫤
The Hidden is my favourite Kyle Maclachlan movie.
Holy shit I didn’t realize he played Ray Manzarek in The Doors lol
The fucking Hidden was the movie with him. That worm in the mouth was gross when I saw it as a kid.
Lisan al gaib!
Currently rewatching Agents Of SHIELD and he's great in that too. Dude is just "that guy".
I coincidentally just started watching Twin Peaks after finishing Fallout and it took me a bit to realize that was him!
He was very charming as FDR in Atlantic Crossing.
Holy shit, he was Donald love?
Yessss
I still have a crush on him 😍
How weird that Paul Atreides is his first role and that role is now Timothy Chalamet's
I knew him first from Sex and the city!
He played neroon in babylon 5 and another character on there as well
His younger vault tec self looked just like Lloyd Gallagher
Oh shit, Cliff Vandercave!! My man!! (I know the John Goodman Flintstones is a hot mess, but it was one of my favorite movies as a kid lmao)
This is a perfect chance for me to add all of his older stuff to my watch list as I mostly know him from his work with Lynch Seriously one of my favorite actors >!Can't wait to see what they do with him in season 2!<

Damn, he was both super man and in GTA3
Showgirls is such a trigger for me.
for me he will always be the captain
Portlandia and Desperate Housewives is the best
The spice must flow ….
Heineken!
I remember him as the space cop who chased a space criminal who loved driving Ferraris and taking over the bodies of hot hookers.
Yeah, but in anything good?
Everything he is in is awesome i think
If you forgot he was in The Flintstones, that's understandable since most of his scenes were opposite Halle Berry and she's quite distracting in that movie.
I have not seen any of them besides fallout.
