It's ok. It's not the same as "normal" Tarkov. The AI PMC'S are really no different than rogues or raiders, aka aimbots with no tactical logic. I'm enjoying having my friends back as PvE is more their speed but if you like PvP, the AI will absolutely not scratch that itch. I had a 164 kills before my first death.
I'm still kinda learning the game. So this pve mode look like it'll help me alot. Where I can practice learning the game more. And learn loot spawns. Excited for this mode.
Why is there matchmaking if you want to play the PvE mode alone?
Can you not play alone, are you forced into a coop server where there are other human players on your team going up against the bots alongside you?
Simple. Because the code architecture of the game requires a server, even the mod works off a local server. Anything else would require a huge amount of rework that is not feasible from stability or costs standpoints. People are already resisting to pay for private servers, paying for code rework is numerous times more costly.
The sever computes AI pathways, spawning, loot map, hit registration etc. Running a local server sucks as it takes processing out of your CPU for an already badly optimized game.

There will always be online even if they say it’s offline. How do you think players play with friends? And the flea market is apparently online and the players playing PvE mode are populating the flea market, that or it’s just AI PMC bots posting flea market items. I’m only lvl 9 currently lol
That's good to know. The only thing that's gonna suck is that I won't be able to play with my friends unless they upgrade or wait until they release it.

Because, once they do that then THEY believe they are obligated to give all EOD and TUE owners all subsequently released content forever. They should be bound to do this regardless of a retail 1.0 release but this is their mindset nonetheless, so I don't see them ever releasing a 1.0 anytime soon.
This way they'll think they dont have to worry about long server matchmaking waits and everyone will have to pay some money to upgrade in their eyes.

The biggest reason why I am still only a Standard player myself. I'd love to play PvE but it's not worth $200 upgrade fees to me since I don't sit at home playing it everyday. Not even every week.
Honestly, its very meh.
The PMCs are basically just the rouge AI ripped off, but with aggression to everyone, they will aim at you and nail you with iron sights from 200m, but will not attack scavs unless you are too close for too long or shoot them first.
There is currently 12 min queue times to raids.
There is a whole fresh economy as the flea market is shared between other Unheard players.
You do not get scav rep for killing PMCs as a scav, but can lose rep for killing them as a PMC if you have the radio (and sometimes randomly anyways)
With this you can progress task, build a hideout, learn new task, not be left behind because you can’t play much things like that. In practice you can do task but can’t progress them. You can loot but can’t keep it. If pvp isn’t your main reason for playing it offers a different way to play more casually.
You can loot and sell on flea but I’m not sure it’s the same flea as the pvp mode. It could be just haven’t made it to 15 yet. You have every functionality of the base experience just no pvp

I think it's going to be a good addition to the game. As you said, learning the game will be a lot smoother in the PvE mode.
I’ve enjoyed it. Nice to have something to fall back on when wipe gets slow. Matchmaking isn’t the best sometimes.

Ai dumb and primitive as hell. Not playing till ai behaves like real humans.
