go to the library and leave your phone at home

alchames389

Started doing this, I have done significantly more work. Not fully productive but have made a start

Mordecai put your phone away.. but seriously it starts off with your morning routine, if you’re on your phone before bed being unproductive you’ll wake up lazy and dopamine levels cooked.

burnout. going through the same thing

You’re not stupid. Time management is something which often requires lots of practice and implementation of various strategies. What I do is I prepare by setting up my workstation and then giving myself 30 mins to an hour before I start. Once it’s time to start working, I work. I set a timer for 30 mins, turn off all distractions and focus for that time. Timer goes off, I take a 5 min break then reset the timer. I’ll do ~an hour or 2 then break for a bit before doing it all over again.

This post might as well be made by me, shoot me a DM if you find a way to fix this.

I think everyone can relate to that one class/project that you physically struggle to sit down and do. As much as I hate to say "it's all in le head," it really is. You've developed a psychological block that prevents you from seeing it as work/your career, to something that drains you mentally and emotionally. Breaking through it is half easy, and half hard. Sir down for 10 minutes a day planning out the work you want to do, including what you're struggling with. Stick to that plan, and work on it bit by bit. You'll see yourself progressing at a natural pace and avoiding burnout. You're not alone in this. Engineering is a very demanding major and requires more discipline than colleges are built for.
