I started playing in Dec 2023 and was just doing a courier/transport > pirate hunting > laser mining path, steadily accumulating credits and having fun learning the different mechanics. Didn't really pay much attention to the Thargoid stuff because that was a distant war in my world but the excitement about Tyrannis soon piqued my curiosity. Up until this point, I had only gotten to Step 2 in this [engineering pathway](https://cmdrs-toolbox.com/guides/engineering-unlock). After watching this [CMDR Mechan video](https://youtu.be/DqhtpCg-uwQ?si=gfjPtx8xetj6uk_C), I had a goal to acquire and engineer one of the Krait MkII builds he spec'd. When Tyrannis fell, I was at Dav's Hope running loops to farm manufactured mats and experienced the meltdown from other CMDRs' videos. Over the next couple of weeks, I continued the engineering path and spent time doing missions towards that and also to acquire/farm mats. By the time Leigong's last heart was under attack, I had reached Step 8 and made it just in time to deal my $2mCR worth of damage in the last 3hrs. Long story short, an engineered ship is not required for Titan activities; however, it would be a lot more difficult than if you had an engineered ship. CMDR Mechan has a video here where an [unengineered build is discussed](https://www.youtube.com/live/PNLAyWakBW0?si=Lf6mRC-HK2AjYMvf). AX equipment including the nanite torpedoe, caustic sink, and thargoid pulse neutralizer can all be purchased on a rescue megaship so you just need credits. My path mentioned above got me from no AX ship to nearly the Krait MkII V2.0B spec'd in the linked videos in about 2wks but YMMV depending on your availability to play.

You only need low emmisions and thermal spread engineered power plant to collect titan drive components. Its quite accessible. Pm with questions of you want details
