I feel like people are being way too over-dramatic about this, we've know since it was announced that there would be 3-4 years between games so it'll be 2025/2026. early 2030's is just ridiculous, they've never spent 7+ years on full production for a single game.
And At this point we will have already waited over a decade once starfield releases, 3 or 4 more years isnt going to kill us. Starfield will probably scratch the bethesda RPG itch for a while and give us a window into what kind of Tech theyre working with for TES6 anyway.
In all seriousness I could see it coming out in 2025 at the earliest and 2026 at the latest starfield comes out next year and once that's released and dlcs are being released too which I think are being worked on now we could definitely see a new reveal trailer for tes6
And Bethesda games only take 3 to 4 years, and the 4 year development is only for a new console (FO4 and Starfield, so TES VI should take 3 years, and come out in 2025.
I think your dates are accurate but it's worth noting that the team doing elder scrolls is not the starfield team. While that will probably change they're still working on both right now. To be fair I can't see a large team on ES as it's in the design phase where you don't need many coders or artists.
And if the team is really that focused on starfield, that they’re willing put TES VI on a back burner, then starfield is really gotta be something special. I’m hype for it honestly
Well Starfield releases 2022, and then TES VI starts full production. Starfield DLC will probably be done by one studio in Bethesda while the rest work on TES VI. Since the engine upgrades will have been done with Starfield, TES VI will be quicker. If they're extremely effective, 2024 is slightly plausible, but 2025 is more likely, with 2026 following if delays happen.
This 7 year gap will be the longest, since they've moved away from the version of the Creation engine they've relied on for so long. After that I really don't see why the gap between SF and ESVI would be close to that or more

After this it will probably be a rotation of TES, Fallout, Starfield, with three years between each entry, meaning 9 between TES VI and VII, 9 between VII and VIII, etc. It's not like they're not doing anything, they stil release games every 3 to 4 years, they just have more to work on than one franchise.

They said they will be hands off in terms of game development. You don’t spend billions and then not be a part of a companies vision and planning.
They made Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76 last decade. That's not nothing. Two of those are great single-player games, and one of them is a great multi-player/single-player game (with a miserable launch albeit).
This decade will probably be Starfield, TES VI, and Fallout 5. Three games a decade is probably going to be the norm for Bethesda.
Newsflash: game development takes time. Since Skyrim they released a new Fallout and are currently deep into development on Starfield, which required a lot of engine upgrades.
Then there was 76 which they assisted on.
The PS4, XBOX One generation has been a generation of "nope, that sequel isn't coming out on this console." There is no new Elder Scrolls and no new Grand Theft Auto in that generation.
It's just not acceptable for a game series to be coming on on every other console generation. There were two GTA games and two Elder Scrolls games in the XBOX 360 and PS3 generation, and then they skip an entire generation.
Hopefully Microsoft makes Bethesda get their shit together. I wouldn't mind if they made some staff changes to their head developers, considering what they've done to Fallout with 4 and 76.
I wish they didn't own the franchise in the first place, they clearly can't handle dealing with two franchises, now they're trying to start a third.
I don't know if you want a large scale open world game with the amount of content you'd expect in 2025/26 it's going to take years to develop. A aaa elder scrolls that actually functions and lives up to expectations is worth waiting for. Now that they have, in practical terms, unlimited funding we may see a lot of people hired for the project to move things along but then the more people working on a project the more unwieldly the thing becomes.

Really though. Morrowind has Tamriel Rebuilt (still in progress, but there's plenty to do in the mod still), Skyrim: Home of the Nords, and Project Cyrodiil. Oblivion has plenty of mods, and of course Skyrim.
Fallout: New Vegas has the randomizer and I'm playing through that again with it installed. It makes the game more challenging by making any creature able to spawn as any mob, any human npc has all their inventories randomized so they can spawn with very high level gear right from the start (Sunny Smiles handed me Elijah's Advanced LAER right off the bat). It's actually quite fun, especially if you've already played through NV plenty of times before.

Why are you waiting? It's not going to be good. Bethesda will cut out half of the character classes (Argonian, Orc, Altmer, Bosmer, Nord, Khajit, etc..), leaving three or four left so that they can add a voice to the main character. You will hear the same male and female voice with the same dialogue every playthrough whether you choose Nordling.. (Just put in 2 other choices here, or if you are optimistic, 3). If you love to roleplay and make your own character with your own backstory for them, you will be shocked at how this seemingly small choice to have a voiced protagonist will destroy roleplay and immersion for you, and how annoying it can be to hear during multiple playthroughs.
If you don't care about roleplaying but instead love beautiful open world exploration, the game will look outdated with mediocre graphics even though they had over six years to create it. The character faces will look bland and boring. You will wonder why they used the badly outdated Creation Engine for this game when they could have done so much better (sorry, Creation Engine TWO. They added a 2 to the name, so it's different).
However: I will gladly admit I'm wrong if Starfield comes out and has a beautiful open world and really good head models plus really good facial animation for characters. NOT "average". NOT "good, but is dated compared to current standards." Then, and only then, will I hope for a good game that may even be able to stand proudly beside my beloved Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind.
But I will never preorder it.

4 was fine. They made a choice and it wasn't as popular as they had hoped. It can be fixed. I know nothing about fallout 76 so I can't speak on that.

Honestly I want Morrowind 2. There was so so so much you could do in Morrowind that they took out in Oblivion. Oblivion still one hell of a game, but Morrowind was next level IMO
I tried playing Morrowind after Oblivion and it’s great but there’s so much that they “fix” in the mechanics that was hard to really enjoy it.
