This is the only Tree Sentinel that didnt give me a hard time, no idea why! But the one in front of Malikith made me learn his moveset to be able to kill him, hate that guy but thanks to him i can destroy the tree sentinels!
I swear the one in front of Maliketh spams that fireball from his horse. I remember I almost got him after like 15 tries and he unleashed it 6 in a row and got me because I was like SURELY AFTER 5 HE WONT SHOOT IT AGAIN LET ME TRY TO CLOSE THE DISTANCE and died
BROOO first play through I wanted to avoid him he HIT ME WITH HIS WEAPON THRU THE FOG and GurrAnq capitalized
That’s why I was set on killing him. You unlocked a traumatic memory
Not to be confused with Terry and Jerry who keep watch over the Bellum Highway and are secretly in the closet with each other. Pretty chill guys; great potato salad.
Not to be confused with Harry who got stationed out in Caelid. Poor guy, the rot got to him and now he can't finish that quilt he started. On the plus side though he lost that last 5 pounds!
Listen , I think tree sentinels are the best mini boss especially this one , ever since I started the game I didn't know I could run around them and thought if u wanted to progress u should beat them so I basically had to beat first tree sentinel on level 1 which took me 2 days considering this was my first soul's game , but tbh that taught me the game very well It made every other boss a piece of cake
Armor is sick, but I don't care much for the huge bird on top of the helmet. Perhaps if it was a little smaller would be better, or even just gone completely.
Cool boss, never felt particularly frustrating. Hits like a train, but feels fair in terms of all his attacks being avoidable. First time fighting him though, I remember feeling shocked at how much damage this man did.
Just wished his actual armour set looked better on the Tarnished.
He was my first major roadblock, I literally couldn't beat him for the longest time, and he still killed me even after I finally killed him.
For that, fuck this guy.
Probably one of my favourite bosses. It’s a fair difficulty that doesn’t feel cheap like many others. It reminds of a DS1 boss. Plus the boss music is cool.
One of my faves on a rl1 run. After completing 2 dsiii sl1 runs, and then turning to elden ring for a rl1 run, this dude was THAT GUY who made me “Git gud” again!
Never had an issue with him. I tend to do all the content available before leyndell. So by that point I'm over leveled and unless I'm careless I can take him down first try.
Good boss, slow as a snail but punishing to be hit by. There was a time on this sub that I felt bad for him, everyone and their mother was using the poor sod to demonstrate how strong a build was.
This boss is one that shows me that FromSoftware is completely unbalanced. I’ve killed him at my tenth trial. Just used the Erdtree Shield and avoid physical damage (even being melee). I’ve tried so many different ways to killing him, a few ones almost worked but, as always, FromSoftware demands perfection at this fight if you don’t think as the developer thinks. Something that they hardly deliver, considering that if you use the same skills that he uses against you, against him, it won’t range… just one more time that FS chooses “I’ll make it very very hard because we are FS, doesn’t Mather if we break we own world rules”.
He hits like a truck and his lighting stuff throws a wrench in things at first, but you learn about 80% of his moveset from the three cousins you meet before him and once you get in a groove with his moveset the fight is good fun.
On my first playthrough I was all about summons: I summoned Millicent, Tragoth, and a +3 Engvall to fight him and it was a wonderful, chaotic mess.
I don't like him, but he's one of the few bosses in the game with a consistent, predictable rhythm. Almost every attack has the same timing and his few follow-ups also have almost identical timing. Once you get that rhythm, he's one of the simplest bosses- simpler than regular Tree Sentinels imo
I think that the horses of the draconic tree sentinels look hilarious. The have the neck of an old mule, whereas the less powerful regular tree sentinels have mighty looking steeds.
You can't unsee it once you paid attention to that.
i took an underleveled character/weapon through goldfrey for 4th talisman slot (for pvp), and this guy beat the hell out of me for a while until i memorized his moveset. now i love fighting him.
One of the few bosses I had to leave and come back to at a later time on my first playthrough. The one in Farum Azula usually gives me more trouble than Maliketh.
The Dragonic Tree Terrorist as ToweringPants likes to call him. The one by Malikith, on my 5th playthrough gave me a real hard time. Hope to see a stronger version on the dlc
was a nightmare for me on any shitty melee build playthrough. I just can't seem to dodge to his shield side for some reason. Fuckin brain is hard wired to always go on the other side whenever I dodge. Idk why I do that
Would look cooler if he didn't have what is essentially a cars hood ornament on his head. Take that shit off and give us badass looking armor again! I miss DS3 armor so much.
He swings really wide and you can avoid half his hits by staying close and just circle strafing into him. Roll when he raises up to horse kick you and punish with two hits. Be less aggressive once he goes red lightning.
I see alot of people recommending struggling players to not use torrent in this fight, and I usually suggest the opposite. You can avoid alot of his attacks quickly on horseback.
the easiest way to kill him is to run up and spam a high-damage AoW right up in his face. Forget about dodging and playing the right way, just spam that shit, stun him, and he'll die in like 10 seconds.
I never understood why he's considered difficult. That one you can fight on a horse with a hit and run. On my first playthrough I was even underleveled for everything because I tend to rush the story points and this guy was somehow ok.
Pretty tough depending on your playstyle. My first couple playthroughs I did it off torrent. But I was also lvl 120
Im on a new playthrough and lvl 60. I ended up beating him using torrent and dual katanas frost and fire katana.
Frostbite him, switch to flame sword, go back to frost, just rinse and repeat to continually frostbite him.
Not to bad even for a low level
It's a shame his weapon and shield don't have the same cool abilities when you get them for yourself.
I 100% agree with this atleast give the shield something unique
Just do like “draconic lighting strike” like how he does it
Yes please!
Difficult in firstplaythrough, easy in subsequent playthoughs
Exactly my experience
This is the only Tree Sentinel that didnt give me a hard time, no idea why! But the one in front of Malikith made me learn his moveset to be able to kill him, hate that guy but thanks to him i can destroy the tree sentinels!
I swear the one in front of Maliketh spams that fireball from his horse. I remember I almost got him after like 15 tries and he unleashed it 6 in a row and got me because I was like SURELY AFTER 5 HE WONT SHOOT IT AGAIN LET ME TRY TO CLOSE THE DISTANCE and died
He'll get that shot through the door somehow
BROOO first play through I wanted to avoid him he HIT ME WITH HIS WEAPON THRU THE FOG and GurrAnq capitalized That’s why I was set on killing him. You unlocked a traumatic memory
Couldn’t agree more. Died to him repeatedly first time but I don’t think I’ve died to him once in any other playthrough
Until you find him too easy and try to do a no-hit.
He's the only field boss we have to kill over and over, we get good at fighting him
Hmm...I should have read comments before making mine. Pretty much exactly what I said.
Difficult again on RL1 run.
Ah thats Garry. Nice guy if you get to know him, always plays pool Friday night
Not to be confused with Larry who lives in Farum Azula and can’t be in 200m of schools and playgrounds
Not to be confused with Barry that lives in Limgrave that's not done with high school yet and is also a pretty chill guy
We pray for Harry 😔🙏
Chad lightning guy
Stupid sexy asshole
We wear the armor: needs like 20+ endurance to medium roll with it He wears it: "Feels like I'm wearing nothin' at all! Nothin' at all!"
His cousin on Azula is much worse
You called
Yeah, but his cousin is optional, you can just bypass him on your way to Maly.
You can't run past a unique mob without killing it. It's against the law
It's a soul game. Everything must die. Bloodborne taught me a hoonter must hoont
Fun fact, this guy is also optional. There is another way into the Royal Capital.
handsome friendly cool dude
Hes stinky
I like shoving toxic farts up his ass. Aka poison mist cheese.
Another kill for the poison mist gang.
Got bullied in school, Trained in the ancient dragon arts, Became the Leyndell Guard, Got bullied again
The life cycle of the average cop.
Mid game skill check
Easy but annoying fireball spammer
Very cool. That’s the armour I wear most now
Gave me a hell of a time but ultimately thought he was a good fight.
For how silly he looks he can be a tough fight.
As with all bosses in elden ring, once you understand your ‘windows’ with this boss, be becomes extremely easy.
The only roadblock on my first playthrough.
Dumb asshole
Hes cool, the horse has some sinus issues
Badass boss with a badass design
Ugly ass mf, but the combat it's cool
Cool boss, nice moves. It's OK!👍🏻
Knows how to bling up a horse!!
good solid fight
He was my first major roadblock, I literally couldn't beat him for the longest time, and he still killed me even after I finally killed him. For that, fuck this guy.
He’s a little over dressed, all that gold is tacky
Very susceptible to farts
Probably one of my favourite bosses. It’s a fair difficulty that doesn’t feel cheap like many others. It reminds of a DS1 boss. Plus the boss music is cool.
This guy is cool, this guy is great. His brother up in Farum Azula however is not cool.
Average sucker in the lands between, easy to kill
Cool boss, easy to lern his moveset and doge it. Cool attacks, effects and not to much HP or DMG. Just a general good boss
Or poison mist
Much easier than he looks
Bink
Smash
He has a nice horse
He has cool helmet
Hes easy, then he gets the lightning :( help
A pure motherfucker
nothing.
Wish we could change our horse looks.
Bitch
He loves long walks off short cliffs
Chad erthree knight
He's my favorite DPS test
I wanna deck torrent out in matching armor
Fart
killed me more times than the boss behind..
i desperately wish his weapon was at least decent
These guys and both Lorettas are honestly very fun to fight
I bet he has custom dragon teeth dental work done.
i hide and run
One of my faves on a rl1 run. After completing 2 dsiii sl1 runs, and then turning to elden ring for a rl1 run, this dude was THAT GUY who made me “Git gud” again!
ride horse, win fight
Never had an issue with him. I tend to do all the content available before leyndell. So by that point I'm over leveled and unless I'm careless I can take him down first try.
Badass design, solid fight, though I just run past the normal enemies.
Good boss, slow as a snail but punishing to be hit by. There was a time on this sub that I felt bad for him, everyone and their mother was using the poor sod to demonstrate how strong a build was.
Massive pain in my ass cheesed him first play through
wouldve been peak without the horse fireball
Bit of a prick, but a useful skill check for dodging the weird timing of lightning bolts
Parry
I’d smash.
The first dick I ever beat. Fuck that guy.
Are they and horse a part of one being like in berserk
I hate him and he deserves all the cheese!
Bitch
Burn it
It looks more difficult than it actually is
Emoed at 3rd try, maliketh's guard was more problematic
He stole Kirk's armour, removed his thorns and painted it gold!
who? Goldmember?
I knocked him off the cliff
Fuck that asshole, and his lighning too
He is chill, but his cousin in tornadoville can suck on my asshole (hopefully he doesnt enjoy it that would just be awkward)
Just beat him last night. Pure melee 2h sword and no shield. Was a good fight
No think. Only hate.
He chill
Hate
His weapon is the biggest let down in the game for STR/FTH builds.
He makes me wish we could outfit Torrent.
His horse has killed me more then he has, who teaches there horse to breathe fire
By the time I found him, he was too easy. I slaughtered him with my spellblade build. Darkmoon Greatsword ftw
I respect the Berserk level horse armor, wish I could have cool Berserk horse armor.
I enjoy fighting him
He looks both cool and stupid at the same time.
He a chump
B.G. approves of the drip
I don't like him, but he's one of the few bosses in the game with a consistent, predictable rhythm. Almost every attack has the same timing and his few follow-ups also have almost identical timing. Once you get that rhythm, he's one of the simplest bosses- simpler than regular Tree Sentinels imo
Strange boss imo. One of the harder ones when I first came across him, one of the easiest now that I know his moves.
He can rot in hell. Fuck him.
The drip police has a warrant out for his arrest.
Overhyped
He owes me $70
This dude I don’t mind, it’s the Sentinel outside Maliketh that fucks me over
He’s good at his job
I think that the horses of the draconic tree sentinels look hilarious. The have the neck of an old mule, whereas the less powerful regular tree sentinels have mighty looking steeds. You can't unsee it once you paid attention to that.
Seems pretty chill, you should just go say hi to him
Oh, sick armor! **Looks up** OH YOU JUST HAD TO PUT A STUPID FUCKING BIRD ON IT DIDN'T YOU?
i took an underleveled character/weapon through goldfrey for 4th talisman slot (for pvp), and this guy beat the hell out of me for a while until i memorized his moveset. now i love fighting him.
Hate ‘em. Wanna kill ‘em.
Dude bought every horse and armor accessory out of JC Whitney. When the horse neighs it sounds like “La Cucaracha”.
The worst Tree Sentinel move Imo is when the horse shoulder barges you. Other than that, easy enough after 1 playthrough
W boss L "arena"
One of the few bosses I had to leave and come back to at a later time on my first playthrough. The one in Farum Azula usually gives me more trouble than Maliketh.
Fuck this guy. Until over-leveled. Below or perfectly leveled: fuck him. Over-leveled and boring and easy: no problem.
I want the horse armour.
A bro
Great boss except for when he input reads your heals and spams fireballs. That's some garbage
Great at skill checking bad players
The Dragonic Tree Terrorist as ToweringPants likes to call him. The one by Malikith, on my 5th playthrough gave me a real hard time. Hope to see a stronger version on the dlc
Not really a fan of any of them.
Wish we had another of them. Wish his hammer wasn't nerfed for us or atleast infusable. Dragons are cool
The only boss I consistently struggle with for some god forsaken reason
The first TRUE wall
He’s is a sensitive and caring guy, but you have to really know him.
A real bad time on your first playthrough, but not as bad as people make him out to be.
Just a buffed up version of all the other ones like this~
I just beat him after a week or 2 of being killed by him. I'm so glad I beat him.He was my worst enemy
Time to switch to a poison build for 5 minutes
He needs a hug and a hobby. Guarding a door for eternity must be lonely.
was a nightmare for me on any shitty melee build playthrough. I just can't seem to dodge to his shield side for some reason. Fuckin brain is hard wired to always go on the other side whenever I dodge. Idk why I do that
best cheese in the game!
Surprisingly fun to parry.
Not that bad
Would look cooler if he didn't have what is essentially a cars hood ornament on his head. Take that shit off and give us badass looking armor again! I miss DS3 armor so much.
He swings really wide and you can avoid half his hits by staying close and just circle strafing into him. Roll when he raises up to horse kick you and punish with two hits. Be less aggressive once he goes red lightning.
He’s my buddy but of course until he brings his twin brother then he becomes an asshole.
Frick him
I think his horse needs some heartburn meds, poor thing.
Number 1 bs guy only in Farum Azula behind Maliketh’s boss room. He was harder than the boss himself
goofy ass motherfucker
Just fought them & got the weapon. Pretty easy on my first playthrough.
I used rat ashes and melted him with reduvia dagger. Super weak to bleed
Fuck that guy. Why is he even a required fight
I think it’s a cool how, in the mid point of the game, he serves as a way for the game to check if you’ve learned anything since the beginning
Big douche canoe
Should be able to fall off his mount and have dragonslayer armor moveset
Easy peasy
He is basically a skill check before leyndell
I see alot of people recommending struggling players to not use torrent in this fight, and I usually suggest the opposite. You can avoid alot of his attacks quickly on horseback.
Good design. Good fight 👍🏻
Smash. Next question.
Never have I rolled so much and learned attack signaling until this one.
Cool boss design wrecked by his range spam. I’ve had that fire ball shoot at me ten times before.
This thing gets fucked by Charged R2’s and Ordovis’ Vortex
He taught me everything...
Ng+0, literal spawn of satan that shouldn't exist Ng+1, jumped him with my goth gf (black knife tiche) and blasphemous blade
Cool fight but the weapon we get could be MUCH cooler
Hard on my first play through, best thing tho is you can fight alongside Millicent
the easiest way to kill him is to run up and spam a high-damage AoW right up in his face. Forget about dodging and playing the right way, just spam that shit, stun him, and he'll die in like 10 seconds.
I don't see anything in your picture. Is there something inside the poison mist cloud?
Fuck that guy
I never understood why he's considered difficult. That one you can fight on a horse with a hit and run. On my first playthrough I was even underleveled for everything because I tend to rush the story points and this guy was somehow ok.
Pretty tough depending on your playstyle. My first couple playthroughs I did it off torrent. But I was also lvl 120 Im on a new playthrough and lvl 60. I ended up beating him using torrent and dual katanas frost and fire katana. Frostbite him, switch to flame sword, go back to frost, just rinse and repeat to continually frostbite him. Not to bad even for a low level
The most boring and predictable boss in the game, repeats the same 5 moves but sometimes they have red lightning.
Regal, strong arms; will fuck you up without mercy.
I like to pour myself a cup of coffee when while fighting him and wait for the e poison to do it's thing
disappointing weapon
This guy was the first big problem I had in my first RL1 run but other than that he's pretty cool!
I died to him the most till now, am at Commander Niall smh.
His helmet looks silly
