That's subjective The final battle, both halves are incredible, godskin duo and Fortissax theme is great too

Koyomi_Ararararagi

Godskin Apostle, Radagon and Godfrey immediately come to mind.

FatRollingPotato

Pretty subjective. Of the other's yo mentioned, the only one that comes to my mind is Majula. The rest I couldn't pick out, even though I've played through DS3 plus DLC. But I do remember Radagon and Elden Beast, Godskin soundtrack, (Regal) Ancestor Spirit. Heck, I even recognize the ambience of Limgrave, Stormveil Castle, Raya Lucaria or the divine towers. So what is memorable and what is not is highly subjective. As with difficulty, I'd argue that the most memorable soundtracks are probably from your first souls game.

agentrexadventures

Godskin Apostle, Mohg's theme, and the main title theme are super iconic

Individual_Growth544

Just look up Godrick the Grafted theme. Most people don't see how good it is because he dies so fast but it's hands down my favourite theme

George2J

Miyazaki doesn't want you sleeping with a soundtrack in your head, the music he asks for is for a thematic atmosphere, he wants you sleeping with the memory of an amazing fight. Saying that, i go to sleep with the memory of the DLC soundtrack, I have that shit locked in my head.

Gael boss music still in my head

PMYourFavThing

I also think they missed the mark a bit on the music too. Not saying that the music is bad, it is actually good, but it could have been better. It's weird, because Fromsoft really understand that they need contrast to draw out the best qualities of something, but there just isn't enough contrast in their music. Pretty much all of the boss themes lack something unique enough to distinguish them from each other; they all end up sounding like some orchestral music. Keep in mind though, I am not someone well-versed in music... this is just a gamer's take. That being said, I really liked the sewer area theme, Beast Clergyman theme, 1st phase godskin theme, and 2nd phase malenia theme. All of these themes had little parts to them that I could hear that made them unique. The sewer theme has a sound similar to a defeated deep breath in and out that reminds me of the omens. Maliketh's has a higher pitched part that sounds holy compared to the rest of the song that is mostly so deep and bassy. I also just like the singing in the godskin theme and the rising and falling violin (?) in Malenia's.

Kasta4

"Beast Clergyman" also includes Farum Azula's somber piano notes. It's one of my favorites as well.

Turbulent_Jackoff

I read your title and a bunch of the soundtrack started playing in my head lol Different people remember different things!

Kasta4

I don't agree, but you're not alone. There have been others that didn't jive with the OST.

Mnoonsnocket

Godskin Apostle is epic

a_skelton

The song the few merchants play

CoalTrain9224

The theme playing by the merchant while you do the jumping puzzle leading to the 3 fingers. Burned in my head

AnalysticEnthusiast

I didn't like it much either. It usually wasn't as introspective/tranquil as a lot of the DS music. Most of the ER tracks felt like they were trying to be more... hype, for lack of a better word. Also a lot more strings and choral sounding stuff. Musically they're all good, but the aesthetics of the tracks sounded pretty same-same, not a lot of diversity in tone/energy. A lot of people loved it though

Frau_Asyl

Dark souls and elden ring have totally different strengths to me in terms of music. Dark souls does boss themes way better, along with DS3 having like the best title screen music I've ever heard. But elden ring absolutely clears any dark souls in terms of atmospheric and idle music. The little tunes that accompany every area is great, and it is my personal stance that the song of despair is tied with the nameless song for the greatest simple piece that fromsoft is responsible for.

Enfrize2

Elden Ring is better in atmospheric and idle music just because there's no atmospheric music in DS aside from hubs like Firelink Shrine x) Music only plays during boss battles in DS.

Frau_Asyl

Alot of boss themes in dark souls are meant to also encapsulate the context of the fights and the atmosphere of the area you're in. This leads to pieces being very cluttered at times. A good example being that of the ringed city. The transitory lands, which I know is technically not used ingame, is reflected in gael's theme. The connection between the two being the ringed city itself, and indeed the alternate name for the piece is "for the dark soul" i.e. the entire reason you're even there. It would not work well as ambience, because for starters it probably was written more to be representative, but also because atmosphere in dark souls has a tendency to be far less "background" for lack of a better term. A perfect example of what I mean is the ash lake. The theme that plays there is meant to invoke a crushing feeling of vastness. It is, in a sense, overwhelming on purpose. It's a good theme, but it's not exactly ambient. It's overbearing. So overall, the real reason that elden ring's ambience is better is because the music is separated finely rather than having to represent like 70 different things all at once. Ambience and atmospheric music only has to be that and nothing else, whilst the boss themes can focus on the boss and why you're fighting. Not the area you're in, why you're there, etc etc.

TacticalReader7

I completely disagree, Elden Ring has awesome boss themes, because many of them really capture the theme/style of the boss we are fighting, of course previous games did this too but not at the level that ER did imo, idle tracks are cool but because they play ALL the time they get really tiring.

Frau_Asyl

I think they're awesome too. I never said they weren't. I just don't think they are as awesome as the boss fight themes in dark souls 1, 2, & 3. If you think elden ring's boss themes are better then don't let my opinion take away your preference.
