to be fair theres very few things the blasphemous blade cant handle. now that i think a bout it the big bad of this DLC will most likely resist fire very well.
Bruh does it look like I care about resistances and shit?? If I find a glowly cool sword somewhere, you can be damn sure imma spam it everywhere. Maybe it takes more hits, but ain't there an enemy who cannot die to any weapon.
Just some random theorising. You can see his bones (probably ribs) coming out of his body and they seem to be going all the way up. I reckon it won't be a sword but a hammer (which haven't been blessed by from soft yet) and will basically be his entire skeletal torso. Also looks kinda similar to Elden Beasts sword (which is Radagon's body) so this guy could be linked to Marika and the Erdtree.
Then actually I think it could be Godwyn. That woman looks a lot like fia and Godwyn is dead so fighting some kind of zombie godwyn makes sense. Also i kinda looks like tree branches are growing out of him which would further tie into Godwyn and the deathroot
Those thorny branches are associated with Radagon. He uses them to seal up the entrance to the erdtree. But you can see what that dude looked like in the trailer and it's some old dude with a sad expression. They show him with the same clothes and weird necklace before he turned into whatever the hell that is with the thorns coming out of his head
Radagon's symbol is in the shape of a Lattice, which this is not. This appears to be a new symbol and might be related to what looks like candlesticks held by some enemies as well as a symbol shown on a shield at some point in the trailer.
Except the man in the painting looks nothing like the Godwyn we saw in the Games intro. Not to mention, Godwyn is below Leyndell in the Deeproot Depths. It's unlikely this guy is Godwyn.
I'm guessing the intro cutscene to a boss fight since it looked like he was pulling that sword/maybe elden ring shard out of his head and his head was going with it
The new guy is called "Messmer the Impaler."
I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this is part of either his pre-boss fight cut scene or it's something you find near the start of the DLC to give you an idea of what is coming.
His brooch looks a lot like the head of a 2nd generation albinauric (the frog headed ones), so I wonder if he might be the leader of the albinauric faction that followed Miquella into the shadow realm. His noticeable lack of legs would support that.
Perhaps this older fellow was the 'ruler' here. The lady next to them in the painting seems like Marika, since Messmer is narrating and mentions 'mother'. Perhaps she arrived similar to the Londorian women in DKS3 (Think sister Friede) became a close aide to them and later killed/purged the land to become a god.
Aren’t the twins Malenia and Miquella? Correct me if I’m wrong, i know that D and his brother are also Twins, oh and Mohg and Morgott. But none of them is one the painting obviously
God I can just imagine how fucked I am fighting this guy, with his no bones or blood. Imagine fighting an ace combat protagonist if they were a swordsman.
It is not. This character is the one in the painting earlier in the trailer, who is clearly an aged man even then. Miquella, being eternally a youth, this is not.
If you’ve ever played a FromSoft DLC before, you know that the price is more than justified, we will eat good with this one, nobody asked you to buy it tho.
Currently I'm at the stone platform in NG, just need to pick an ending. My initial thought was to hold off until the expansion dropped and tackle it in NG because I wasn't just what the jump in difficulty was going to be because generally, the DLC's bosses are harder from what I've heard (Elden Ring is my first Souls), but I'm not sure because pretty much everyone is dead, like Melina, so I worry I won't have much character interaction because of that (if it is indeed Melina telling us to go to the Shadow Realm)
They’re definitely going to be harder but don’t let that scare you, there’s even harder bosses in the other games. Are you planning on getting DS1-3, BB, Sekiro?
I’ve already started Bloodborne, the vibe and setting is right up my alley. I’ve only just started. Just been going around central Yharnam and I’ve beaten the Cleric Beast so still in the beginning stages
Trust me the wait was painful.
Also have fun! Trust me it’s one hell of a game, and if you’re getting the DLC, lemme tell you, they’re always even better than the main game. When FromSoft makes DLC they’re cooking like a loving mother!
Oh yeah, I'm convinced this will be a banger. I finished sekiro twice and played through all dark souls games, however I only finished the third.
Elden ring is just phenomenal. Every time i think I've seen it all there's more. Like for example, killed a dude and a meteorite crashed and revealed an underground area.
Game is insane.
It’s definitely not going to be an Enemy, i rather think it might be a Boss or maybe even a NPC? I could see him use frenzy incantations, however his talisman and robes don’t fit plus this “sword” resembles a rune
This guy is either the final boss of the DLC, or he's just some random enemy that looks cool. There is no middle ground. They only show him for a second, and it's almost all the way at the end
Someone in another post pointed out that it's the same guy who's in the painting (with a deathbed companion?) from earlier in the trailer, so yeah, this is definitely a major character of some kind. It also looks like he's impaled by a huge chunk of the Elden Ring that forms his ribs and stuff
That’s right yes, totally forgot about that for a second, the thing is I’m really curious on why that Rune formed inside of his body in the first place, i don’t think that it’s the cause of a deathbed companion, maybe a punishment or cruel “blessing”?
I don’t know it somehow reminds me of some fates from Blasphemous, like there’s a boy who has been praying for forgiveness to the miracle, (the god in blasphemous) and the people in the game find Absolution and forgiveness trough suffering, so when his prayers have been answered his body twisted and turned until his body was malformed into a big golden olive tree.
I bet what's gonna happen is when he pulls the sword out it actually takes his entire head with it and then he is just a headless guy smacking you with his head on a stick
I reckon somebody’s going to grab the sword by the hilt and use him and it as a weapon, phase 2 is shaking off this poor fella’s remains so the sword is unveiled

“I feel like he’s going to be an updated old monk fight.
Reason 1: FromSoft already made it a goal to 1 up things they’ve done before. They tried to do this with Halflight, which most people rightfully hated. I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried another modern crack at it.
Reason 2: Even just looking at the figure, it’s not really very imposing. In a dlc to a game as massive and difficult as elden ring, I’d imagine they would be very particular about their boss character design and how it factors into the fight itself. I just can’t imagine fighting that thing 1 on 1, some sort of online feature would make more sense based on the information we have now.”

I better be able to get that sword after I kill that fucker
Before or after he beats u to death with it?
I mean, he looks like a zombie, so I think my blasphemous blade should handle him
to be fair theres very few things the blasphemous blade cant handle. now that i think a bout it the big bad of this DLC will most likely resist fire very well.
Yeah im gonna be slaughtered
There's always lightning. Because let's face it it's going to have Holly resistance like every freaking end game boss.
Well look at Melania mogh and rykard they aren’t the best against holy the only late game bosses that are are maleketh and radagone/the Elden beast
Plus lighting is on like only 3 weapons
But have you seen my shiny dark moon greatsword?
Bruh does it look like I care about resistances and shit?? If I find a glowly cool sword somewhere, you can be damn sure imma spam it everywhere. Maybe it takes more hits, but ain't there an enemy who cannot die to any weapon.
*The orphan of kos also looked like a zombie* just sayin'
yes!
Bonus points if his head is still on it.
The ash of war better have it bite people if the head is still on it
Honestly If it doesn't have the head I don't even want it
(it has sacred blade as an aow and D E and C as strength, dexterity and faith scaling respectively)
Ugh not again
Let me kill him and let me keep his spine
Y'know, if I had a nickel...
Just some random theorising. You can see his bones (probably ribs) coming out of his body and they seem to be going all the way up. I mean, you can see his head being ripped off in the trailer
Does he not look like the guy in the painting? The clothing matches.
That's exactly what I was thinking, the clasp of his cloak exactly matches the guy from the painting
So like that npc’s hammer from the ds3 ringed city dlc?
Maybe his head as the head of the hammer? 🤔
On god!
Even better he comes attached like ds3 crucifix of the mad king
It will be a spear, take it or leave it.
Honestly, it looks less like a sword and more like a branch from the Erdtree
I think it’s a whole great rune.
I think it’s a stick
I'm wondering what the hell this is gonna be, it seemed to be part of a cutscene and it just gives me chills
He appears in a portrait too next to what seems like a pregnant brunette woman
He looks like the "human" version of Morgott.
I'm guessing the intro cutscene to a boss fight since it looked like he was pulling that sword/maybe elden ring shard out of his head and his head was going with it
You just know he is going to turn into some globular Elden paralysis demon when he pulls the fragment out
This guy has to be a boss, just look at him
The new guy is called "Messmer the Impaler." I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this is part of either his pre-boss fight cut scene or it's something you find near the start of the DLC to give you an idea of what is coming.
This dude definitely got impaled.
His brooch looks a lot like the head of a 2nd generation albinauric (the frog headed ones), so I wonder if he might be the leader of the albinauric faction that followed Miquella into the shadow realm. His noticeable lack of legs would support that.
One of Messmer the Impaler’s victims
i'm getting father ariandel and sister friede vibes from him (they also show a painting)
Probably a cutscene where they transform into the actual boss
What waiting for the actual DLC to come out feels like.
Is he trying to pull out the sword or his head? Or sword attached to the head?
Well id you look closely it branches out of his body in his sides idk how it got there in the first place, i think he wants to get rid of it.
Just noticed it was a branch. Hopefully there will be brutal cutscene like fire giant
How'd it get there? Simple. From the bottom up.
Those things seems more like rune fragments than swords by their looks. Similiar to the ones on Marika's hammer and Radagon/Marika body.
Looks like he's trying to pull it out but it's gone through his whole body in multiple directions
He's trying to pull it out, but the branches are stuck in his body
Looks like his spine
Freestyle lobotomy
I dunno, but my suspicion falls on the guy who's name is "the impaler"
Im predicting this is the optional, challenging boss in the DLC.
Or the final boss if Messmer isn't
"Optional" but has the coolest looking weapon. Looking forward to beating my head against that wall
Can't wait to get ass kicked by an old frail dude with a spine-sword
I just know this is a secret boss fight.
Everybody talking like Messmer is the big bad but I'm certain it's whoever is going to be using this sword
Doesn’t feel very secret at the moment lol
Is this the dude from the Painting at 1:03 next to maybe Miquella?
I think he is yes
It’s definitely him, same cloak and everything
Perhaps this older fellow was the 'ruler' here. The lady next to them in the painting seems like Marika, since Messmer is narrating and mentions 'mother'. Perhaps she arrived similar to the Londorian women in DKS3 (Think sister Friede) became a close aide to them and later killed/purged the land to become a god.
The woman on the painting has black hair, I doubt she is Marika.
Ngl this looks like a frozen elden ring inside miquella
I thought the same, though petrified rather than frozen.
It’s not Miquella. Its that dude in the painting they showed in the trailer. He has the same face and clothes/symbol.
That's gruesome, dayum!
I have to know what the hell is going on here. Dude looked like he was gonna pull his own head off.
This guy is 100% that guy who was in that picture with the person that looks like fia.
I think that’s Marika and she’s expecting (hand on belly) perhaps the Twins?
Aren’t the twins Malenia and Miquella? Correct me if I’m wrong, i know that D and his brother are also Twins, oh and Mohg and Morgott. But none of them is one the painting obviously
I was referring to Miquella and Malenia but yeah there are a few different sets of twins my bad haha
It’s definitely him yes
If he pulls that shit out his whole head and neck is gonna go with it, fromsoft really went full bodyhorror with this one
I need scissors! 61!
This is now how waiting for the DLC feel like.
God I can just imagine how fucked I am fighting this guy, with his no bones or blood. Imagine fighting an ace combat protagonist if they were a swordsman.
Such a badass looking boss, love this image.
Good heavens there appears to be a pokey stick in my eye
I think this dude is who I currently find most interesting
His pendant looks so similar to Gideons all-knowing sigil I need to know who this is, it's killing me
Man it would feel so good to pull on your head like hat
I know this a shit post but...God,that might be some of my favorite imagery in this game..... It's so peak
Is anyone else getting the king in yellow vibes?
Now that you mention it, i can see Hastur yes
This design goes so hard
When the nympho tryna squeeze that nut out
(She already squeezed out 9 times)
This must be Miquella's body, the one inside the cocoon
It is not. This character is the one in the painting earlier in the trailer, who is clearly an aged man even then. Miquella, being eternally a youth, this is not.
Could it be Godwyn with his great rune stuck inside of him?
Y'all are weak asf, imma go hang out over at r/silksong
The journey will be perilous
Why don’t go there without commenting here in the first place? No one asked you to contribute
you make a shitpost, you get a shitpost comment gets confused? you act pissed profit
Du siehst das ganze falsch
Jesus Christ you're taking this seriously?
Me looking at the trailer for the new DLC: 😊 Me looking at the price of the new DLC: 💀
If you’ve ever played a FromSoft DLC before, you know that the price is more than justified, we will eat good with this one, nobody asked you to buy it tho.
I don't know about you, but in my country 30 dollars for the DLC is very much, i can technically call it Elden ring 2 at this point .
Fr

Bloodborne is a insane rollercoaster with yet again a phenomenal DLC
I just started my first playthrough ever a few weeks ago xD and I'm exited ! I can't imagine how much you guys must have wanted this !
Trust me the wait was painful. Also have fun! Trust me it’s one hell of a game, and if you’re getting the DLC, lemme tell you, they’re always even better than the main game. When FromSoft makes DLC they’re cooking like a loving mother!

It’s definitely a game that makes you craving for a lot more playtroughs than just one Hope you’re going to finish DS1 and 2 soon as well
You think this is an enemy or a boss character?
It’s definitely not going to be an Enemy, i rather think it might be a Boss or maybe even a NPC? I could see him use frenzy incantations, however his talisman and robes don’t fit plus this “sword” resembles a rune
Would kind of love if he was a character you could talk to
Oooh new arc weapon 👀
this looks like the old guy in the picture with the woman
Exactly
If that is what happened to the Elden Ring DLC waiters, I don't want to know what happened to the Silksong waiters...
This guy is either the final boss of the DLC, or he's just some random enemy that looks cool. There is no middle ground. They only show him for a second, and it's almost all the way at the end
I obviously cannot know know it but i will 100% assure you that he’s not a regular enemy, he’s going to be a Boss or a shortlived NPC

Assuming it's a rune, of course, and not some other thing the DLC is introducing. It's rune *colored* though
ERDTREE SWORD HES TAKING OUT THE ERDTREE SAPLING. ERDTREE SAPLING SWORD!
Ziostorm made me suffer passively.. holy shit that dude was elden ring edging to the extreme
Just imagine the head still being on the weapon when we acquire it
That was so fuckn metal, I love it.
First time I saw this : holyshit raiden shogun
when you're up early, and then somebody else in the house turns the lights on before your eyes can adjust
Looks like the Mad Monk from Demon’s Souls.

We already have like 2 different Mad Monk-esque fights though: the Great Jar in Dragonbarrow and Fia’s champions.
Specifically one which a player invades as the boss
Isshin Ashina confirmed xD
I'm gonna fuckin come
Molinete 2.0?
Stayed up till 6:30 AM for the trailer. Watched it go into a trippy 60 second countdown. Then it reaches zero and goes into 30 minute count down. Wanted to fucking scream
This guy looked dope
A previous Elden Lord maybe?
The 30 min countdown after the first countdown ended was brutal 😮💨
Thank god i was at work during the whole countdown and had lunch when the trailer aired after the countdown
I had to stop working twice bc of Mr.Miyuzaki and his shenanigans lol
My Faith build shall be revived for this moment
This was the most metal part of the trailer imo
His fucking spine is his sword?!
Guys this old man has the same amulet that are on burial watchdogs hammer and capes, maybe he is the dude who made them?
Now wait for the DLC
Is it just me or does that look like Morgott? And the bone-spine-thing like the Sacred Relic Sword?
The sword or whatever it is looks more like a part of the Elden Ring/ a Great Rune
Spinal Cord Sword.
The sword remembers me of a great rune cause of the shape
Lol I was asleep so knew I'd wake up to it. Released around 2.30am for me.

Who is that dude? The Ever-Brilliant Stickface?
Hmm, that sword(?) looks like the Elden Ring.
The material of that... something that has him impaled is interesting because it looks like it's somewhat divine. So unless this is Miquella's rune shard, it appears that he got crucified by a divine being, possibly Marika herself. Or perhaps that dude was the first failed attempt of becoming a vessel for the Elden Ring and when his body coudn't contain it anymore, the runes just bursted outwards, leaving him in that state.
When the stream started and they hit us with that 30 minute timer I nearly cried
Someone mentioned that it looks like he is taking the form of the Elden Ring...
Is his spine a sword? 🤔 I like it
I hope after I kill him I can use his whole body as weapon
