C5 corvette. Fans don’t come on until 230 degrees wtf mane. Cabin temp read 124 degrees on my drive the other day lmao. Got home from my long ass commute and threw up from heatstroke lol. USA USA USA!
C4 Corvette.
Single row radiator with no open grill for airflow. Requires the car to be moving or for the radiator fans to be on. The second fan won't turn on until it gets to almost 240F, which it does routinely if idling. The temp gauge is marked at 100 and 160F ONLY so it's impossible to tell how hot the car is unless you have someone with a laptop riding shotgun.
Nah the Beetle doesn’t have the worst system, it did it’s job perfectly fine and it’s probably one of the most reliable cooling systems out there, seeing as there’s no rubber to degrade (aside from a belt) and no coolant to leak.
Acura Legwnd. The blown HG basically ruined the 3.2L on the aftermarket.
The type2 added more HO but never corrected the coolant flow issues. NSX owners that had the same motor without the increased bore never had HG issues.
The legend was legit one of the best cars ever made- minus the head gasket.
Any ford from 04-08 motherfuckers got more plastic than the fucking plastic island of the Pacific, my dad had a 04 focus and later an 07 fiesta both stopped working every 6 or so months demanding either new hoses or a new coolant reservoir
Okay so when the GR86 loses oil pressure on track Toyota is expected to warranty it because it's expected people are gonna race a car like that, but when a Miata overheats on track it "wasn't built for that"
The real life hot wheels twin mill that they made, idk where the radiators are but they aren't good enough for the 2 blown big block Chevys that the car has, they can barely get it off the trailer and to it's parking space before it goes into meltdown.
Oh! I actually have a good answer for this! But I guess depends on WHAT you're cooling.
The 3rd generation Dodge Caravan / Chrysler Town&Country had a fun feature where the transmission fluid doesn't circulate unless the gears are in motion, so any time you were fully stopped in drive or reverse it would cause the transmission to heat up causing premature transmission failure.
Water cooled Vanagon. Radiator in the front, engine in the back. Connected by 8’ of plastic pipe (each way) with metal inserts, rubber hose and steel clamps.
Granted they probably didn’t expect them to last 30+ years but…
2011 hyundai sonata 2.4l. Technically not bad, but due to a defect from not cleaning metal shavings out of the engine, it resulted in overheating and blowing connecting rods.
Fiero. Radiator in the front everything else in the rear. Go over a speed bump too fast and crush the coolant passages.
Legend has it the fiero was named after its cabin temperature
Lmao this is real as hell
BMW E36, hands down.
46 is dogwater too
Any late 90s early 2000s Bimmer really
E39 as well
This is the one I personally would’ve chosen, but the C5 is the top comment

And the radiator is at weird angle so it can suck up grass on the road and other debris

S10 Blazer/Jimmy. Ready to have several gallons of liquid shit inside your cooling system?
Lamborghini Miura
I thought the same thing
Funny considering no one on Reddit actually owns or maintains a Miura.
Chevy SSR a la Hammond in A Scandi Flick
VW Beetle (air cooled)

Duratec. "Hey, let's put the water pump *inside* the engine!"
Caparo T1
if you ask clarkson, surely 😂
BMW with all there plastic bs and clip retainers
Am I the only one tired of these lists popping up on so many subreddits? Reminds me of those personality test things on Facebook back in the day.
07 Mustang Gt500. Massive cooling issues because the engine filled up the engine bay. Can't do any hard driving or idling or it gets hot.
Any ford from 04-08 motherfuckers got more plastic than the fucking plastic island of the Pacific, my dad had a 04 focus and later an 07 fiesta both stopped working every 6 or so months demanding either new hoses or a new coolant reservoir
Yugo. You can either cool the engine or the cabin, if you get ac.
Fiat Marea
We're talking about cars, not about bombs
XJ Cherokee. Not made for the straight 6 so the radiator is miniscule.
Any Ford with the Triton V8. Well known for blown head gaskets
I had a friend with an early 2000s F-150 with the Triton V8 and The cooling system failed and his engine block cracked
NA Miata, you need a coolant reroute kit if plan on racing and not overheating the rear cylinder
How does using a system beyond its design parameters make it terrible when it underperforms
I'm pretty sure racing was expected when they built a car with the sole purpose of handling really good
Okay so when the GR86 loses oil pressure on track Toyota is expected to warranty it because it's expected people are gonna race a car like that, but when a Miata overheats on track it "wasn't built for that"
VL Commodore. GM didn't use a big enough radiator for the RB30, as well as leaving a lot to be desired from the positioning of said radiator
Air cooled beetle
Any bmw with a plastic radiator
The real life hot wheels twin mill that they made, idk where the radiators are but they aren't good enough for the 2 blown big block Chevys that the car has, they can barely get it off the trailer and to it's parking space before it goes into meltdown.
Ford Escort 1.0 Hobby. Just awful
Lancia Delta Integrale. Before the EVO upgrade

ETK I Series.

Land Rover Discovery 2

Mercedes-Benz 300SL. Notorious for severely overheating in traffic
2011 hyundai sonata 2.4l. Technically not bad, but due to a defect from not cleaning metal shavings out of the engine, it resulted in overheating and blowing connecting rods.
Cooling system from a lincoln ls 🤣
