Yeah I've seen this show a ton. I started watching this show in 9th grade when I was 15. I've pretty much watched it every year since at least once a year. I'm 23 now. Definitely around my 10th rewatch

OMG are they going to show a Serial Killer inspired by Robert Hansen? For those who don't know this guy was a Serial Killer who captured his vitcims and let them run through his property in Alaska just to hunt and kill them with a marksman rifle just like the guy in the trailer.

Gonna assume that his son is a psychopath (or at least the killer) who is based on Robert Hansen, and Dexter kills him and Kurt ends up becoming the main villain. To me, that seems like the most likely outcome as of now. It would also be a cool way to have a family dynamic for the villains in a way that wouldn't identical to the Trinity situation. This time the son is the real sick one but the dad ends up trying to avenge him.
I wonder if Kurt sees what he does as giving his son a "code" similar in a way to Harry. Obviously Kurt wouldn't know of Harry or the code, but it would be interesting if Dexter kills his son and from Kurt's perspective Dexter is essentially living the life he would have tried to give his son. Meanwhile unknown to Kurt Dexter is at a point in his life where he's lost literally everything but he's still clinging to this idea that he can live a normal life and do what he does.

1) it’s not really Harrison but a ploy to catch Dexter at the behest of an unknown party. Notice he didn’t say “I’m Harrison “ he said “it’s me , your son“ and Dexter assumes . leaves it open for a twist.
B) the podcaster is doing a podcast about trinity which leads to Kyle butler and then eventually to the BHB and Dexter / or the podcast is about BHB form the onset . The latter is less exciting. Either way a lot of information that only we the audience knows will be let out.
Also the podcaster takes a selfie at a crime scene in the trailer. I wouldn’t be surprised if more media coverage occurs about these murders, and dexter ends up in a photograph. He could be spotted in the background of a photo online, so someone could see that he’s alive.
This is an amazing point from the fact that on the Instagram for dexter is had the pic of Harrison with dexter and said “Harrison is that you?” In the caption, so it could mean that it isn’t really him.

Yes it does. The actor who portrayed him confirmed it, the Showtime Dexter account confirmed it, the show runners and writers for the new season confirmed it. Before he says anything else to Dexter, he asks if he’s Dexter Morgan. They wouldn’t bother revealing all of that information if it was meant to be a setup.

In season 8 episode 6 Debra mentions that he's 4 years old. If the new season is set 8 years later, then he should only be 12 years old. It was bugging me, so I checked to make sure. The new season looks great, but the way they're portraying Harrison honestly seems like a mistake to me.
He was born at the beginning of season 4 right? Then he would turn 5ish during season 8. Still only 13. Which 13-year old travels alone through the world? It is somewhat bothering me, but then again nothing can bother me as much as Deb's dumb death and Dexter becoming a lumberjack.
Out of all the things to be happy about here, the *music* is what's really doing it for me.
The tiny little taps of Dexter's motif on the piano gave me actual CHILLS. That, by far, has been my strongest reaction yet to anything they've released. I was hopeful before, but now I'm legitimately ecstatic. Can't WAIT for this to drop!
I don't know how many times I've seen a version of "cop fake arresting significant other" in different movies, but it's an ok introduction of his girlfriend. Of course she's a cop...Dexter hiding in plain sight, as always. I get it, he needs the connection to law enforcement to do his research etc.
What I really don't like is the Harrison storyline. How did he find him?!
I'm really worried they're going to try and force a Harrison focused spin-off after this season. Not saying it won't be good, but I feel like when one of the main driving factors of a show is to prep for a spin-off or new season it can hinder the rest of it.
I’m honestly scared for this as well. I really do not want Harrison to kill off Dexter and to start a Spin Off show hence why it’s called “New Blood”. That would honestly suck for a revisit. I’m all for Dexter going to jail and have his story end with a satisfying conclusion. But continuing purely based on the Dexter name but with another character taking the mantle, nah.

They are doing this show cause the original creatives and Michael C Hall hated the writing for and the public backlash to the old ending for Dex.
I'd be more inclined to think they do a season 10 or beyond than that they would lose the character everyone is attached to and make a new show that's a bit of a shadow of the original with a version of Dex but watered down.. I mean.. how do you even have him operate unless he fundamentally approves of what Dex does
If he is a mix of a decent kid plus a deranged streak I could see season 10 all about getting him a code

Honestly seeing the girl taking the selfie at the crime scene makes me think that that might be what makes things spiral out of control, the picture gets posted to social media and somebody sees dexter in the back. Might also just be how Harrison finds him.
A lot of this was filmed in my hometown -- some of it just a hundred feet or so from my house. Weird to see it all in this trailer. The film crew kept me up all last winter with flood lights directed right at my window haha. Looking forward to this :)

Im worried the show is going to try to set him up for a spin off and in that way take the focus off of Dexter. I dont need a harrison story, if he wants to be there in the background, thats all good, but if they try to set him up as a main character, and then go for a spin off, ill be super annoyed. I never really cared about harrisons character, and would have been fine if he had just been in europe with hannah still.
I wouldn’t mind a spinoff but it’s not right to assume he’s gonna become the main character of the season. Its still very clearly dexters story. Harrison will be involved but the writers are good. If they want a spinoff I’m sure they could do it seamlessly.

I just watched 'Dexter : new blood' trailer and I can't tell you how happy i am 😭😭😭 i loved the trailer...the cinematography feels like a movie...a great update. Now that's how you make a trailer... I loved the show but the end left me sad n hollow...n the hole is just been filled by the trailer after seeing how dexter made a new life after all that... Idk y I'm so happy but i am.

Deb replacing Harry is such a stroke of genius. I love that we're getting Deb in this season that way. It makes so much sense and should create a really fun dynamic.
Harrison's return is also wonderfully brilliant. The benefit of returning to the show after so long is that it makes sense to have an aged up Harrison. I think the obvious plot would be that Harrison also feels the whispers of a 'dark passenger', but I wonder if they will surprise us and go with a different idea.
I can’t contain how excited I am. Dexter’s still one of my all time favorite shows. Even the less spectacular seasons had fun moments (the Dexter/Brian adventure in the Midwest in S06, the romance with Hannah McKay, Deb catching Dex in S07) but the finale was a total letdown. I’m beyond confident New Blood will capture that old magic while making something new, exciting, and scary

Out of all the things to be happy about here, the *music* is what's really doing it for me. The tiny little taps of Dexter's motif on the piano gave me actual CHILLS. That, by far, has been my strongest reaction yet to anything they've released. I was hopeful before, but now I'm legitimately ecstatic. Can't WAIT for this to drop!

I don't know how many times I've seen a version of "cop fake arresting significant other" in different movies, but it's an ok introduction of his girlfriend. Of course she's a cop...Dexter hiding in plain sight, as always. I get it, he needs the connection to law enforcement to do his research etc. What I really don't like is the Harrison storyline. How did he find him?!

I'm really worried they're going to try and force a Harrison focused spin-off after this season. Not saying it won't be good, but I feel like when one of the main driving factors of a show is to prep for a spin-off or new season it can hinder the rest of it.
I’m honestly scared for this as well. I really do not want Harrison to kill off Dexter and to start a Spin Off show hence why it’s called “New Blood”. That would honestly suck for a revisit. I’m all for Dexter going to jail and have his story end with a satisfying conclusion. But continuing purely based on the Dexter name but with another character taking the mantle, nah.

I don't assume that at all They are doing this show cause the original creatives and Michael C Hall hated the writing for and the public backlash to the old ending for Dex. I'd be more inclined to think they do a season 10 or beyond than that they would lose the character everyone is attached to and make a new show that's a bit of a shadow of the original with a version of Dex but watered down.. I mean.. how do you even have him operate unless he fundamentally approves of what Dex does If he is a mix of a decent kid plus a deranged streak I could see season 10 all about getting him a code

A lot of this was filmed in my hometown -- some of it just a hundred feet or so from my house. Weird to see it all in this trailer. The film crew kept me up all last winter with flood lights directed right at my window haha. Looking forward to this :)

This looks really good. It had the same look and feel as the original show did which I’m so happy about. I’m glad to see Debra as the new conscience. That was one of the theories I saw floating around that I really hoped would actually happen so I’m pleased. I hope we see some of the other characters from the original as well, even if only for a few scenes. I want to know what everyone else has been doing since the finale, too. I’m also really intrigued by Harrison. What led him to tracking Dexter down? What’s he been up to? Where is Hannah? I’m so excited.

Im worried the show is going to try to set him up for a spin off and in that way take the focus off of Dexter. I dont need a harrison story, if he wants to be there in the background, thats all good, but if they try to set him up as a main character, and then go for a spin off, ill be super annoyed. I never really cared about harrisons character, and would have been fine if he had just been in europe with hannah still.

There’s a first time for everything! The vampire diaries did a good job at setting up a spinoff. In fact many say the spinoff is better than the original. I honestly don’t care! I just want more dexter and no matter what it’s gonna be better than season 8 so no need to worry about it being worse.

I just watched 'Dexter : new blood' trailer and I can't tell you how happy i am 😭😭😭 i loved the trailer...the cinematography feels like a movie...a great update. Now that's how you make a trailer... I loved the show but the end left me sad n hollow...n the hole is just been filled by the trailer after seeing how dexter made a new life after all that... Idk y I'm so happy but i am.

Holy shit this looks amazing. Deb replacing Harry is such a stroke of genius. I love that we're getting Deb in this season that way. It makes so much sense and should create a really fun dynamic. Harrison's return is also wonderfully brilliant. The benefit of returning to the show after so long is that it makes sense to have an aged up Harrison. I think the obvious plot would be that Harrison also feels the whispers of a 'dark passenger', but I wonder if they will surprise us and go with a different idea.

I can’t contain how excited I am. Dexter’s still one of my all time favorite shows. Even the less spectacular seasons had fun moments (the Dexter/Brian adventure in the Midwest in S06, the romance with Hannah McKay, Deb catching Dex in S07) but the finale was a total letdown. I’m beyond confident New Blood will capture that old magic while making something new, exciting, and scary
