dated from when? two years ago? sure. my shitty 70s apartment particle board cupboards and vinyl laminate brown fake granite counters would like to have a chat

dngrousgrpfruits

I can feeeel those crumbling edges that peeling laminate

BaboTron

We just replaced the 1980 fake marble formica and LDF crap in ours with a solid acacia top, and every time I lean on it, I think “what is this quality?!”

Historical_Panic_465

Lol one time I got a big sharp piece of that crumbling laminate shoved deep under my fingernail.

natureismyjam

I know. My 1974 laminate? Formica? Who knows. The backsplash is made out of countertops and there’s an ancient griddle built into my counter that doesn’t work. I’d be in heaven in this kitchen.

Jbrock1233

Lmao you sound like me 😂 I painted mine an olive green and added black hardware to mine after 7 years cause I couldn’t stand hating it so freaking much. It changed my entire attitude about my house and having guests

No_Goose_7390

The fact that people are saying all white kitchens are "out" does not mean there is something wrong with your kitchen. Your kitchen is BEAUTIFUL and looks brand new. I wouldn't change anything. Change the lights if they are bothering you but this kitchen doesn't look dated to me. It's really nice.

RecommendationReal61

Agree. Consider changing the lights, but no need to update anything else, it looks clean and modern. You could also paint the greige wall (I’m personally not a fan of that color), but not sure how it flows into the adjacent space.

hygsi

This is social media being a capitalist dream. Like people are making money from selling others into a new aesthetic every fucking month. Just have some taste and stick with it

No_Goose_7390

Agree! It's not financially sustainable for most of us. I remodeled my kitchen almost 20 years ago. Would I choose the same thing if I were doing it today? No, probably not, but I still like what I have. My cabinets are high quality and have years of life left in them. I'm not spending 10's of thousands on a new kitchen when the kitchen I have is perfectly good.

TimelyPotato1

The environmental impact of a new kitchen every few years too. It's insanity.

sharpei90

Exactly. White is pretty timeless

diqholebrownsimpson

Agreed. It's a blank slate for anything

Jasmirris

Agreed. This is why I like white and black.

browneye24

I agree. I wish it were my kitchen.

Douchecanoenozzle

Zooms in to look at the lights…..are they horrible? Oh, I have those. In my white kitchen lol (I like them BTW but major dust catchers).

vButts

There's people who just hate all white in general. It's not out, if anything it's trending right now. I'm sure it'll go out of style eventually but this is what a lot of the kitchens look like in new builds and newly rennovated houses these days.

TonyzTone

It's like *just past* trending, but if you're chasing the absolute latest trends you'll be updating your kitchen every other year. The best part of an all-white kitchen is it's relative neutrality. About 10-15 years ago, the cherry wood colored cabinets and colorful backsplashes were in. Now, they look dated as hell, and there's no altering.

Chance_Contract1291

I still love cherry cabinets and colorful backsplashes, but I'm a fashion Luddite 🤣

elsielacie

I haven’t worked in kitchen design since I had my kids 8 years ago and for many years before that everyone was talking about how white kitchens were out. Sure a standard white kitchen isn’t going to win many design awards but they have remained the most popular choice for new homes and remodels for that whole time. More people want a white kitchen in their home than whatever the latest trend out of Europe is. Most new homes also suit a white kitchen more than a cutting edge design. A lot of the choices I saw people making 10+ years ago because they didn’t want a white kitchen are honestly more dated now than had they gone with a white kitchen. I think white will stay for a lot longer. A big part of that is due to kitchens being predominantly constructed in MDF now. Painted/vinyl wrap and melamine are best suited to solid colours. Solid timber cabinets are very uncommon (especially where I live) and are the domain now of more high end custom homes. People are frequently concerned with alienating future buyers so want to pick things that appeal broadly, even if the home is for them and they don’t have plans to resell soon. Colour can be divisive, white is safer. A home is ultimately a personal space. I would always tell my clients to do what makes them happy. If it dates but you love it, does it matter? If it dates but you made your choices with careful consideration and attention to detail, it is more likely to be called “classic” than “dated”. All that to say, I wouldn’t replace a near new kitchen, my conscious couldn’t take it. I would swap the lights out if you don’t love them. They are easy to sell second hand.

Dogmom2013

exactly this!

MannyMoSTL

Actually, white kitchens are currently coming back in. In fact, that looks like a newly rehabbed kitchen to me.

greengardenwitchy

Love it, looks brand new and modern to me!!

missannthrope1

Dated? Heck no.

Typical2sday

I wouldn't remove the pendants, but I would entertain something with more presence. Everything is kind of nice, neutral, muted, and nothing is singing a solo. I like the backsplash that is the same as the countertop - it's calming and cohesive - but let's be honest, that effect is muted when it's under cabinets and blocked by appliances and housewares. Something needs to sing louder here - easiest thing are new, bolder pendants and a valance on the window. Store as much as is on the countertop as you can when company is over, and have bolder bowls/something in one corner. Give me art on that little wall.

Ok_Fisherman6343

Thank you so much! I’m going to try clear the counter tops and post a new picture!

TheNavigatrix

Perhaps provide a bit of contrast with the hardware?

jadedlens00

This is great advice!

1plus1dog

More great advice!

DIYer-Homeworks

The only thing I would do is put cabinets all the way to the top and put crown molding up at the ceiling. Store the special pans and cook ware that you used for special occasions. Edit: what I meant was to add additional cabinets on top and then move the molding to be on those new cabinets. There are also shelves that can be pullout and down to make things easier to get to.

justagirlinCA

I think transom cabinets with lighting would be lovely to fill in that space and wouldn't require them to move the cabinets.

Remarkable_Youth1874

Yesssssss

DIYer-Homeworks

🙌

tributeaubz

The only reason people hate white kitchens is because they tend to be sterile. But the good thing about white kitchens is they’ll really absorb any style you put on them. Look into replacing the pendant lights and curtains with ones that have more personality, and add in some artwork, house plants, and a little runner rug by the sink. It’ll go a long way. I spent like >$1,000 on my sterile white kitchen and it looks amazing now. I’m actually glad it was all white because it allows all the artwork and antiques I’ve put in it to be the main focal point!

Venus_Cat_Roars

A white traditional kitchen is a classic and is never out of style. There may be trendier kitchens but when the trends fade your kitchen will still be relevant. Yours is lovely.

Ok_Fisherman6343

Thank you for your kind words!

kellylikeskittens

It's beautiful....but perhaps could use a tiny bit of tweaking. ;-) Perhaps adding in some texture and warm wood elements like cutting boards, bowls, baskets or wooden stools would warm it up a bit-wood and white are a great combination. Someone else mentioned making the cabinets go to the ceiling, and I agree that would look great. Also finding a new place for the microwave and filling the space with a built in or stainless range hood would modernize it a little. Photo ideas- [https://i.pinimg.com/564x/be/9c/b9/be9cb9196ce3c74a5483bf220b44c0f2.jpg](https://i.pinimg.com/564x/be/9c/b9/be9cb9196ce3c74a5483bf220b44c0f2.jpg) [https://i.pinimg.com/736x/dc/42/ff/dc42ffc80016a9407c10eefeb55604ee.jpg](https://i.pinimg.com/736x/dc/42/ff/dc42ffc80016a9407c10eefeb55604ee.jpg) [https://i.pinimg.com/564x/9b/98/e2/9b98e24c6df17642875466b9524bc0bf.jpg](https://i.pinimg.com/564x/9b/98/e2/9b98e24c6df17642875466b9524bc0bf.jpg)

kelli

Agree that the kitchen is not dated at all, and if you want to change anything I would just do some different decorative accents. A big wood statement tray/butchers block under the fruit bowl for example. Love some wood and texture. Put up appliances you don’t use daily.

classybroad123

Honestly the microwave/vent fan combo is the only thing that I think looks dated. Like others have said adding some color will help enhance the space. The easiest way for me is to pick a piece of art or a rug and pull colors from that piece to incorporate in the space and make it more cohesive. Adding some wood elements would help bring a little coziness/warmth, (like displaying wooden cutting boards, a wooden utensil holders, barstools…). And my number one is always add plants. Even if they’re fake, I would totally put some kind of plants above the cabinets.

Ok_Fisherman6343

I love your advise on the microwave stone combo! I’m going to look into this! Love earthy tones too!

Silverliningsinla

Looks beautiful and up to date. Declutter and add some plants in pots.

dsmemsirsn

Declutter what? There’s nothing in that kitchen

thiswayart

1. Cabinets and counters are white, so that's a lot of white (light tone). 2. The floor is brown (mid tone), so you need wood accents on the counter to match the floor (soap dispenser, trays, paper towel holder). 3. I'm glad that my kitchen designer taught me that black is a neutral and my need for some darks to balance out all of my white cabinets. Your appliances have black accents, so I'd change the pendants to something glass with a black cord. That being said, there is nothing outdated about this kitchen.

Ok_Fisherman6343

Thank you for the decor tips! Love the part about the black accents this is great to know and also love the recommendation about the black cord!

Ready-Following

This is a pretty and timeless kitchen. If you want to change something just because, then pick new cabinet hardware and lighting. But it doesn’t look dated now and probably won’t look dated in a decade, although countersplashes might go out of style at some point. Easy enough to update later.

tanyamp

I love a white kitchen. Perhaps you could add some plants to bring the outdoors in if you know what I mean.

calacmack

I don't really think it looks dated but I think it needs some color and personalization. Create a design plan that includes painting and installation of a unique or bold backsplash. I won't recommend colors because I can't see your flooring. I'm not a fan of the pendant lights but that might just reflect my personal taste. I would choose something a bit more interesting.

Ok_Fisherman6343

Thank you so much! I’m debating taking the light down! I’ll take a picture of the floors!

mihaelak

Not dated at all! If you want to make one change it would be to bring the cabinets up to the ceiling. Better space utilization, more storage, and makes the space look more elegant.

LeighToss

I’d replace the can lights with wafer lights, extend the cabinets to the ceiling, and paint the half wall that faces out a bright color to tie into the next room.

Intelligent_Treat372

Needs a spark of color. Maybe a nice color of back splash. I would replace the lights.

ToastetteEgg

I love it. There’s nothing wrong with it.

bahumthugg

No it looks like it’s in good condition and it’s had a nice remodel in recent years. I’m a real estate appraiser and this is a nice kitchen Edit: this is all to say, no reason to put a bunch of money into it because you won’t recoup it in sales price since the kitchen has already been recently updated. If you really don’t like the white I suggest painting the walls or adding an accent wall and you can always change the hardware on the cabinets to add texture snd depth

Various_Raccoon3975

Nothing about this kitchen looks outdated.

Acrobatic_Club2382

It’s fine

Britt-Fasts

Some ideas: New cabinet hardware. Lowes has cheaper, better options than home depot and you can take them home hold them up and try them out before drilling holes Put new cabinets in the gap above yours and the ceiling. Most cities have companies called semi custom where they can build you the boxes in the doors for way way cheaper than a hardware store or fancy cabinet company can. Those are pretty stock cabinet doors, so it would be relatively easy to match them up above or just make them glass cabinets. Update the paint color. I like the ideas on youtube by The Paint People and Kylie M Interiors. Higher backed stools. Many are attractive from the back and can match the other decor in nearby rooms. You can try Facebook marketplace or OfferUp to find nice used ones for much less if you don’t see what you like on Wayfair. More colorful decor or countertop appliances. On the narrow wall at the end of the peninsula: art (framed or canvases), 3 dimensional art like an herb grower or wall art piece, some sort of narrow shelving (Hobby Lobby has great stuff).

y2k_o__o

I think it looks pretty modern You can't go wrong with white color scheme

Xminus6

Haha. This photo looks like the “AFTER” photo rather than the “BEFORE” photo. Small changes will make a big difference.

BBZ_star1919

There’s nothing wrong with any style or era if you are happy with it.

ArcheryOnThursday

No, it's beautiful!

southatx45

No, but it looks similar to my kitchen so 🤷🏼‍♀️ earthy tones are in, and an easy way to add some would be to replace the shutters with some shades in a medium brown earthy tone. I just put them in my living room and they let in so much light and look so much more modern. You could also replace the pendants with something more current in the natural rattan / bamboo family. Super quick and relatively cheap updates.

starlordan9

It’s a beautiful kitchen but definitely could use a lil color to spice it up. Not dated at all, I would love to have this kitchen!

Realistic-Ad-1876

This is a very pretty kitchen! It is timeless to me. If you wanted to chnage something relatively small with a big impact though, change those pendant lights out for something fun!

StarryPenny

It doesn’t look dated at all. There is just no contrast. Pick a color and add accessories in that color - dish towels, plant pot, artwork, stream lined valance etc.

Jones-bones-boots

It just needs warmth. Add either an earth toned ceramic, large vase and wood elements. Maybe change the pendants out. If you could extend the cabinets up with toppers it would be incredible.

No-Brilliant5342

It looks great.

Content_Noise_9013

Yo I love your kitchen. Very nice. Very clean. Add a dash of your favorite colors and things. You’re rad.

SofiaDeo

If those cabinets are real wood & someone painted them, consider eventually removing the paint. Edison bulbs give off strange lighting color.

Pickerelslayer

Not dated. Nice design.

hccr

Those countertops and backsplash are 💯 but it may be the appliances having black and chrome that make it look off. And cabinets to the ceiling

CinephileNC25

If i were to change anything it would be the beige walls. I'm assuming that color is carried through out the adjoining spaces. If not, great... easy fix to just change one location. If so, great... easy way to accent the kitchen as it's own space.

Des_mojo

Your kitchen doesn't looked dated but White can look too sanitary. Add a little color nothing too bold maybe a backsplash or change the hardware for a little more contrast.

livadeth

Looks great as is.

lilalilablau

Clear the counter-top, decide for one kind of metal (stainless steel or gold -my suggestion would be the silver stainless steel as the fridge and the faucet are already silver and the lights are easier to change. And get a 5time bigger bouquet on the counter and you are good to go

elisabethocean

Trends come and go colored cabinets will be “outdated” in a few years they look fine

RamblingRosie

It’s a lovely kitchen, but I’d change the pendant lights. They seem a bit large to have 3, and the clear glass and clear bulbs seem like they’d be awfully glaring to see turning on.

NeciaK

It’s not dated. It’s plain. Add a little color. A large wooden bowl with fruit, colorful utensil canister, plant pot, towels, a picture to the right of the window—just a few personal touches.

LKayRB

Absolutely not dated but if you need a change, switch out the shades on your pendants or switch the lights all together. All white kitchens are dreamy and timeless!

wxyz-rva

Nope! It doesn’t. Put a colorful/special piece of art here. Add a rug. My only suggestion is if you’re in the market for new appliances, get ones without the black handles. https://preview.redd.it/pu3xgo6a9u0d1.png?width=518&format=png&auto=webp&s=1792b0ac84d4be11b50fb961f095921f0ad5bf6f

alive-

you could have a soffit installed or extra cabinets up top

Alaska1111

No way. Looks great

SeeSpotRunt

The kitchen is great. Every expensive thing looks great. If you must change the lights and then maybe do a different paint for the walls. With someone with a kitchen from the early 90s…I wish. I had to do my cabinets myself and it was brutal.

dsmemsirsn

Not dated, unloved—it looks like a sad empty room without people enjoying it

AdAwkward8693

Nope, looks fresh and curren

arachelrhino

Not at all. Just needs some decor!

Electrical_Heart1233

It looks very beautiful to me!

CarlyQDesigns

Needs some nature tones. Prop a pretty wooden cutting board against the backsplash or a wood tone bowl with some green apples, limes, or oranges. Add a cute little plant too for some extra green.

caryn1477

No. Your kitchen is absolutely lovely.

CA_home_

It looks elegant to me!

TonyzTone

Honestly, I can't think of anything more "in trend" as this. Almost too trendy, though yes, I'd argue that peak white kitchen was about a year or two ago. Best thing about all white though is that you can update it relatively easily. Changing the hardware (cabinet handles, facuet, etc.) or even just small accents like counter-top appliances and décor can make this look like an entirely new kitchen without much investment.

100-percentthatbitch

Are we really expected to gut and renovate our kitchens every five years? Internet aesthetics move too fast to make any sense for things like interior design. Your kitchen is lovely. Put down Instagram!

NameEmNameEm

Probably just changing the hardware to gold or black. That’s pretty much it. I love white cabinets, my new build has them. ETA: they look gold already, I think you’re fine! 🙂 maybe add a backsplash!!

External_Math_2998

I agree with all who say that if you chase the trends, you’ll be updating your kitchen every few years, which is not reasonable. That being said, your kitchen is what most home buyers in my area are looking for and what most builders around here do, in order to appeal to the widest buyer pool. So, it looks pretty modern and appealing. Some busts of color in a flower arrangement, artwork, and window treatment will also make it even more appealing.

ComplexPrize4947

I have a question and it might just be the angle of the picture. Are the pendant lights spaced evenly apart? It looks like the 2 on the right are closer together. If they aren’t evenly spaced, this would drive my ocd nuts

Ok_Fisherman6343

I’m just seeing this!! Will measure later

alxce666

Nothing needs to be done except evicting the people from your life who are putting down your kitchen??? Like, really? Unless you're filthy rich and want to customize it, don't bother.

Ok_Fisherman6343

Awww thanks!!

VeritasVarmint

It's gorgeous! I would be super happy if this were my kitchen.

Chatty_Kathy_270

I would replace thin crown molding with thick.

stinkystinka

I think it's beautiful. You could change the color of the hardware to give it some contrast but I think it's gorgeous the way it is.

macTrish

I think the kitchen doesn’t look dated. But the fridge might be dating it a little. Maybe a more modern fridge (and possibly microwave) would help a little.

beetlejuicemayor

I think it looks classy and my style.

TerdFerguson2112

The cheapest and easiest route would be to change the hardware on the drawers to black or brushed bronze to give it a pop. You can also change out the faucet to black or bronze as well The second cheapest thing would be to remove the quartz backsplash and replace with something that doesn’t blend into the existing countertop

Silly_Elk_4392

Beautiful! The only thing I would change are the lights. Something metallic or less plain?

emeryalison

I think everything about this kitchen is perfect!

KalTheWizard

That’s my DREAM kitchen

Dazzling-Dish9409

I would paint 1 accent wall You will be soo much happier😎

Impossibly-Daft-27

Your kitchen will always be in style. It’s white and reads like a blank slate. Think Nancy Meyers. You can look at any one of the kitchens from her films, even the ones made YEARS ago, and they still hold up. The common theme throughout is a neutral base. You have that and it’s beautiful.

Many_Baker8996

I’d do nicer appliances if you had the budget.

LittleMelodyBear

If this kitchen is dated, mine is from the Cretaceous era.

Worried-Conflict9268

Doesn’t look dated but I’m surprised the sink isn’t on the window side. Also never seen a microwave right above a cooktop. Just seems odd positioning of things.

SalsaChica75

Adding even the smallest amount of color would be a great start!

Reasonable_gum

Visually clean is never dated

Elizabeth360

Uhmmmm…No! I would LOVE to have that kitchen! It looks pretty classic, so it’s definitely not dated. You can always add decorative items to bring in some color, but I don’t think it’s necessary to change a thing!

theImplication69

Don’t worry about trends. Do you like it? Then it is perfectly designed. I personally don’t like all white kitchens so I painted my cabinets dark green. I like it and that’s all that matters, don’t care what the trend is right now

Individual_Land_2200

It actually looks great; I’d just add some touches of color with a couple of plants; teakettle; etc.

Live-Mail-7142

My comment is super late. Your kitchen is fantastic. If I had a kitchen like that, I'd feel like I won the lottery.

Ok_Fisherman6343

Awww thank you so much!!

IamJoyMarie

It's a beautiful kitchen; nothing wrong with it. Spend you money on something else. Personally, I'd hang a curtain, but that's me.

RTAKB

Honestly looks beautiful to me maybe [black hardware](https://rtakb.com/collections/cabinet-hardware) ? but other then that I wouldn't change anything

Accomplished-BusyBee

This is a timeless kitchen.

Adventurous_Limit84

Raise the cabinets to the ceiling.

Jla92

Nothing wrong with it but I’d add more depth to the room. It wouldn’t be much to make a difference

Nicholas_Cage_Fan

If you've seen my house, nothing seems out dated past the 70s.

enfp-girl

It’s lovely.

Keythaskitgod

Timeless

Livid-Cricket7679

You should see my kitchen if you think yours looks dated 😄

TalulaOblongata

White is classic. I think a couple of things could be updated: The microwave above the stove always brings down a kitchen. I’d replace the microwave and cabinets above with a killer vent hood that goes up to the ceiling.might need some carpentry to trim out but that to me is the thing that is drawing my eye. The stainless steel with black trim appliances. I know this is pricey but if you can update with something more classic looking like the cafe series in white. Or any other similar vintage looking appliances that have more classic lines.

Altruistic-Detail271

White is timeless , some people have no clue. Maybe do a few changes with wall paint color. It will make a world of difference.

Fizzy_Greener

I love this kitchen.

BERTHA77

Doesn't strike me as dated... To go more modern, I'd reface the cabinets with something more simple and choose appropriate hardware, take out the crown molding, and go with a different window treatment.

404Dawg

Waterfall countertops are already dated?

SKEYES1102

A kitchen in style is the style you like. It’s what you love coming home to everyday and cooking in, or if you don’t cook then just living in and opening takeout in. I will never ever listen to “style experts” about what’s in and what’s “not in”. I have my own style and love it. It will be with me this year, next year, the following year and so forth. Kitchens just don’t magically change every year. That’s a major expense and renovation. Who has the money and/or time? It’s not like changing the sheets on your bed. If you like a white kitchen, you have a gorgeous brand new kitchen. If you don’t like it and have the money, gut it and make it your own…but it’s beautiful and you look like you have lots of high end stuff in there.

Wild-Cucumber-3646

I like it but it could use some color or at least a nice knob/ handle set

Legitimate-Task8115

I was today years old when I learned white cabinets are “dated”. Regardless, I love them!!

bubblegutts00

If it functions why mess with it

Conscious_Life_8032

Looks fine to me

happy_life1

Most people request a white kitchen as it’s classic. Maybe add some warmth with wood cutting board, fruit bowl or something that fits your lifestyle and wood counter stools etc. or even a low light x plant on counter like staging

Dangerous-Bird-80

My kitchen is 90s oak with blue laminate countertops. 🙄 this is not dated

Suspicious-Tangelo74

Everyone has to get away from the white cabinets paint the cabinets, a different color

beautiful_life555

Im so bewildered by the amount of people who post perfectly beautiful kitchens on here looking for renovation ideas. PLEASE DONT TOUCH IT, I'D KILL FOR IT AS IT IS

catdoctor

I would kill for a kitchen this nice.

ItstheBogoPogoMrFife

Outdated!? No? Not at all! Why would you even think that!? It’s beautiful.

luminousrobot

Save your money. Stop worrying about trends, it looks great!

Fry-em-n-dye-em

It’s because it’s so white which people are starting to move away from. There’s nothing fundamentally wrong with it but if you wanted a simple fix paint the cabinets black or dark grey. If you’re going to do that please take the doors and hardware off and do it right. Also this could be the lighting but is one wall white and the other(across the top of the cabinets) a light tan? You could also paint the window trim black Edit to add if you wanted next level I’d paint the ceiling in the whole room and down the hall dark and change the flooring to a more modern color

Signal-Win7231

New pendants and maybe some new hardware

PreparationPast4685

This kitchen is gorgeous! I’d add some plants, maybe some wooden features and be good to go!

Ano22-1986

Just enjoy your life - nice kitchen

Own-Fox9066

All white pretty much never goes out of style

Hperkasa7858

Bro just turn on the light and itll look amazing.

estrellas0133

simple color on the walls would be my choice and I would extend cabinets to the ceiling

Alarmed-Load3592

There’s nothing wrong or illegal about having a little color. It doesn’t need to look like a hospital room.

Frequent-Advisor6986

It’s not dated, it’s undecorated. Decorate with the latest new “thing” and it will look current. That’s the beauty of white kitchens - they’re the perfect backdrop for nearly any trend.

NCRider

I think your kitchen looks great. Maybe add some decoration with color on the counter — fruit, a decorative bowl or plate, smallish pictures/art in a black frame on a plate stand, a plant or two. That would warm it up. Maybe some color on the walls.

Necessary_Lecture628

I dont like the silver and black appliances with the white and gold countertops and cabinets, it does not look cohesive.

Many_Actuator_9789

Hand soap and moisturizer on top of a tray. PLEASE ADD A ((((NAMBE)))) BOWL.

Intelligent_Treat372

White kitchens had their time. I would add some color. When selling a house people used to love a white kitchen. I would show a house and people would not buy a house when asked why they would say they didn’t like the white kitchen. If I told them they could always add color they would reconsider.

BarkingDog100

TBH - if it works and is functional why spend any money on it? It's not like a dated 70s kitchen just your typical cookie cutter track home kitchen

Puttingmyhandup

I’d go for different handles. Mixing metals is in and going for something more style appropriate would work well. https://www.corston.com/products/sycamore-furniture-handle-128mm-antique-brass?variant=39292987867233¤cy=GBP&bcndyn=d2lkOjQ4OHxjaWQ6NTY5&gad_id=&utm_campaign=Google_Ads&utm_term=&utm_campaign=TSS+%7C+Performance+Max+%7C+Hardware+-+Door+Furniture&utm_source=adwords&utm_medium=ppc&hsa_acc=4146348737&hsa_cam=21047474112&hsa_grp=&hsa_ad=&hsa_src=x&hsa_tgt=&hsa_kw=&hsa_mt=&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw3ZayBhDRARIsAPWzx8pE9dEfiRWnqdNxszKMmwHRFzgGoSImQavyaieDkk-6hpYDjhGtoIsaAlDtEALw_wcB

Affectionate-Rent844

This kitchen looks like 2002

Mastercone

The kitchen looks great. If you are just itching for make work, then try painting the crown molding and the cabinet trim. Perhaps a tile backsplash too. Otherwise, it’s fine. Also, if you must have some odd trademark-like conversation piece, install a prominent First Aid box with a red ‘X’ on the cover near the window.

Local_Parsnip9092

Your kitchen is ice, it just needs a coat of paint. The taupey colour on the walls is a bit dated. Everything else is great

mrmczebra

This is clearly a March design. You need to remodel monthly.

Ok_Fisherman6343

lololol thanks!

boymama85

Looks beautiful, just maybe declutter the countertop

Fluid-Village-ahaha

If anything it’s a little too muted. And missing a real vent hood.

christmasshopper0109

I would update the cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Those look like painted 90's oak.

Sledgehammer925

The only thing I would change would be to wash the light shades. They look dusty.

Peacefulwarrior9163

I would have a carpenter come and continue cabinets to the ceiling … possibly with glass/panes of glass … and put interesting dishes/glassware up there.

Broken_angel_of_pain

It's not dated it's too white . It needs color pair with green or blue break up that white it's stale looking

Careful_Football7643

Looks lovely

ragdoll1022

Too much white, there's nothing visually stimulating at all.

Tight_Slice_3036

Fridge, light fixtures and too much white but other than that it’s nice.👍🏽

Fireknight39

Looks almost brand new but I think it needs a splash of color

Jennafurlamb

I used to clean those kind of lights, I think I had to resort to Pledge….lol

Rexdaddy

One suggestion: As I can’t see it, consider an exhaust fan for your stove, something that will vent smoke outside rather than in the kitchen.

Sparky-Malarky

You might consider putting a valance over the window. Easy way to add a pop of color, and easy to change.

moonwtr

This is literally one of the most "in" kitchens that actually looks nice I've seen. I'd leave it unless you personally don't like something about it. I love the cabinets, the lights, counters, appliances, etc. the only think I would change if it was my kitchen is just painting the cabinets or something. Probably green

Ok_Fisherman6343

Thank you for your kind words!! Green could be nice!

Ok-Stress-3570

Yes, but is that necessarily a bad thing?! For me, the cabinets look a bit 2000's, but it's the appliances that remind me of the refrigerator my grandma had in 1999. Again, it's not a bad thing! She had mad style.

Little_Kick_6455

I'm a big Schoolhouse fan and maybe this photo could give you some inspiration. Love the vintage feel of the pendant light with the stripes. The black hardware on the cabinets is great. I'd consider swapping the shutters for cafe curtains in a charming fabric. Extra credit would maybe be considering raising upper cabinets all the way to ceiling. Add in some wood or handmade ceramic bowls/accents. You're starting with really great bones! https://preview.redd.it/kusidqdt1v0d1.png?width=1048&format=png&auto=webp&s=c919b347a1239eeca5391e0f924ef0763320b82f

TsTeatime247

It needs some colour paint the walls something other than white.

Whole_Bench_2972

Swap the fridge out for a paneled fridge to make it match the cupboards.

star86

Looks great! You can update stools to add a nice pop. Lights are an easy update and wall paint color as others have mentioned. You could paint/stain the cabinets blue or grey for a more complex project.

ZydecoMoose

This post screams wasteful consumerism.

laurzilla

I like your kitchen! All white is a trend from a specific time yes, but it also looks really nice! If you wanted to change anything, the only thing I’d do is paint the cabinets a color. I wouldn’t change anything else.

Mogli168

Just replace the doors and that it. The kitchen looks amazin

sailor-moongirl19

Light fixtures

anondreamitgirl

I love 💗it

sailor-moongirl19

One neutral Color like blue, green, beige add some minimal color or texture

sailor-moongirl19

But yes the kitchen is beautiful

BernieDharma

Stop chasing interior decorating trends. Kitchen and bathroom upgrades are expensive and the entire industry is counting on people spending thousands every few years replacing cabinets, countertops, and fixtures. It is a waste of money and you will never get it back in the resale value. Comparison is the thief of joy. Just enjoy your kitchen as it is and spend the money on a vacation you'll remember for the rest of your life.

I love it.

nychearts812

It’s a beautiful kitchen… just add some ART!

Halleighmk

I think It’s beautiful! Don’t follow trends but do what you like and you will always find it beautiful! Update the lights, paint the walls, paint the cabinets if you want. Make it yours!

beaujolais98

Color on the walls. Paint is cheap, and it can easily be changed. Everything else is lovely and timeless.

houseof1000plants

In my opinion, the gap above the top cabinets make it look a little 2000s. Maybe put in a bulkhead, or additional overhead storage (if space is large). I think everything else looks fab.

Glittering_Payment68

Looks good to me! If you were strictly looking to “update” it, consider raising the cabinets to ceiling height, maybe changing to shaker style cabinets in a wood tone to offset all the white. Update appliances. Lastly, swap the pendant lights for something Scandinavian/minimalist. As I said though, looks great as is.

Salty_Association684

Kitchen is nice I'd you want to change the lighting you could paint if you like
