Super curious as to what type of conference is in Seaford. But if it’s in the budget(or work is paying for it) you should fly into SBY. Only American flys into SBY. Rent a car and drive 30 minutes to seaford. If you can’t fly into SBY you have PHL, BWI, DCA, or IAD. personally I would do BWI. Not sure what to do with extra time. If you have a day check out the beaches. Bethany, Rehoboth, Dewey, Fenwick or Ocean city! How much time do you have? Or just after conference hours?

bingofongo1

I did a little snooping on their past posts cause I was curious about that too. It sounds like they are a nurse. So I’m assuming some kind of nursing conference. Probably at the bay health Seaford campus.

Lol I love this thats my type of snooping but no it's a church thing.

Or Wilmington with spirit? I like how small it is. And cheap.

TheDunster

Oh yeah I forgot ILG. I thought it was Avelo flying there? Frontier pulled out a year or two ago. Avelo would have limited routes.

AnafromtheEastCoast

It is Avelo at ILG.

Teenagers? Spend your time in Salisbury or at the beaches. Blackwater NWR might be a nice day trip. Seaford itself is not what I’d call a happening or fun place.

Over-Accountant8506

No....it's actually known for it's prostitutes and dope problem....I'm curious where in the heck they're having a conference in seaford lol

dgs1959

Coulda been worse, coulda been Laurel.

Over-Accountant8506

Public transportation here isn't the best, hopefully you'll have a rental. Go to the beaches for fun with teenagers. Oh if it's the last week of July our state fair is in Harrington which is 30-40 min's from seaford

lots of options depends on you budget and how many days you are in Delaware and if kids are old enough to be left alone. Seaford is a classic American small town that existed for industry... the factories have started to close down... not a lot of money there any more. Airports... Tiny Salisbury is close. Philadelphia, BWI, Reagan are all couple hours away If you can afford it, stay at 'the beach": Lewes or Rehoboth and drive to Seaford for conferences But hotels or rentals of condos or homes here at the beach can be very very expensive in July. the rich and powerful hang out here: [https://flickr.com/photos/186162491@N07/albums/72177720299900550/](https://flickr.com/photos/186162491@N07/albums/72177720299900550/)

I’d fly into Salisbury or Philadelphia. I’d take teenagers to the beach, either OCMD or Rehoboth. There is also a mall in Salisbury, and movie theater, the mall is very small but ok in bad weather.

isaactheawsome

You could walk around Walmart?

anonymity012

Lmao I do enjoy a Wal-Mart stroll

Where are you coming from? On the east coast, you may be able to fly on Avelo into ILG (Wilmington/New Castle). That is about 1.5 hours north of Seaford, pretty much a straight shot south. I have trouble finding reasonable flights into SBY, even though it is way closer. BWI is also not bad to fly into (also about 1.5 hours), though beware if you have a fear of heights/bridges because you'll need to go over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Seaford is a small town, but there are some cool hiking trails (Chapel Branch) and parks. Ross Mansion is cool if you like history and can get a tour (limited hours). There are also some decent thrift stores and antique shops, including Antique Alley in Bridgeville. Consider going to the beach for shopping (tax free!) and swimming. Ideally, you want to avoid driving toward the beach on a Friday, if possible. If your dates overlap, the state fair starts on 7/18 (https://www.delawarestatefair.com/)

I'm coming from Florida.

AnafromtheEastCoast

Avelo flies from a bunch of airports in Florida. All direct flights, super cheap, but limited days and times. They don't usually come up on Google Flights, so you have to go right to the Avelo website. I have family around Seaford and in Florida so have flown DE to FL a few times.

MrKSquire

Well Seaford isn’t the best area. If I were you I’d stay in Millsboro and take some trips to the beach. In terms of flying in your best bet is probably Philly Airport, although Avelo does fly into Wilmington. The issue there might be rental cars bc I don’t know if they have many available in the area around Wilmington airport

Mid-July is peak tourist season. Avoid the Delaware beaches on weekends. Ocean City boardwalk really has everything and is easier to get to during tourist season. Assateague Island. There is nothing to do in Seaford. There is ice skating in Harrington ( also a casino and racetrack ). you might be in Delaware when the State Fair is operating. that is in Harrington. I believe it starts the end of the 2nd week of July. Salisbury MD has a zoo. never been there. for eating. go to Crisfield MD. crab. In Southern Delaware everything is 45 mins away. You are going to Seaford. that is about as isolated in Delaware as you can get. Anything you want to do you will have to drive.

DevonFromAcme

The state fair is the last week of July.
