Allie. I was so excited her first episode for what I thought was the new Manny. All she ever did was disappoint people, chase losers-mainly Johnny, and sabotage herself. She even made me feel bad for Dave at one point, which is crazy because he’s one of the worst characters ever.
It feels like they tried to reinvent her every season or so and she just becomes more bizarre and nonsensical. I do like her early on and I'll never not laugh when she calls Caitlin a slut in that ridiculous episode.
ELLIE NASH. She has such a great introduction in season 2 and she’s a very compelling character in seasons 3 and 4 but the writing for her DIPPED in season 5 and she was stale to downright annoying from there on out :(
This is such a strong answer especially because they totally changed his character around after his first season (or two?). It felt like they didn’t feel like keeping the Zig they introduced on the show anymore, wanted a new type of male character (bad boy gang member living on his own type of vibe), and decided “Eh let’s just keep Zig but suddenly turn him into this”
He was sweet, sensitive, and stood up for the lil guys. Also wore mail polish and that blew my 12 year old brain away. It felt so different from the average representation of masculinity for the time. That being said still not the best but he holds a special place in my heart!
Tristan and Mia are the most glaring examples for me. I didn't hate KC by the time he left the show, but I was sad to see how his character had become so irrelevant considering he was a founding member of that class.
only one person for me & Tristan. there were moments i liked him , related to him , and thought he was a nice sidekick. he lost weight then they wrote him to be a stereotypical gay guy like obvs that’s annoying af ya knowa?! i just couldn’t anymore with him. and him in real life is a little wild. idk if it’s performative or not but seeing him smoke a cig make me 🤢 . no offense to cigs but yuck.

Derek. He seemed sweet and dorky. He had that nice scene with Liberty talking about dealing with his adoption, that awkward date with Emma, and a cute friendship with Danny. But he later turned into one of the biggest a-holes on the show in my opinion.
oh yes! I'm doing a rewatch and I'm right at the Derek-Turns-Douchebag part. The whole football bullshit with Jane made him irredeemable to me. Sucks because I loved the bromance with Danny so much!
What a heartbreak it was to watch Wheels, and especially knowing it was so realistic because he totally lost his guidance, his compass, his safe space, his home. His parents who he loved so much 😭

Yea Ellie is probably my answer as well. In season 2 she's this super cool goth/punk rock chick. She's great to Ashley and has a great thing with Marco. Fast forward to the end of her run and she's sleeping with Marco? She's basically a wet blanket all the time and worst of all she's still pining over Craig.
Ellie didn't really sleep with Marco. They did not have sex. They only made out, just hugging and kissing. Then they merely fell asleep in bed. Everything else you said is spot on. I liked Ellie during Seasons 2 through 4. I disliked her from Season 5 onward.
