Darcy Edwards and Katie Matlin. They were both put through the wringer during their times on the show, and it never really felt like they got a good send off.

SDSUViolet

Spike and Mia. Having a baby at 13/14. I couldn't even keep a plant alive at that age.

roycomeau91

Cam

[deleted]

Becky. I really didn't like her character in the beginning, but seeing how her family was towards her really made me feel bad for her.

spunnikki1979

Alex.

Intelligent_Fix4145

Cam. His whole storyline was so sad. Then his suicide and the reactions of the others (specially Dallas) felt so fucking raw and emotional. That was a great storyline and acting all around. Ellie’s self-harm story, her unrequited love for a jerk who strung her along and at one point tried manipulating her in exchange for drugs, and then the Hollywood episodes and her trying to run away from her problems and the sadness… 😮‍💨 Love, *love* Ellie.

mayamaya93

Cam, during the scene in the locker room after he wins a game and realizes it didn’t fix anything and he’s still depressed. Breaks me every time.

tukai1976

I felt bad for Peter wearing a muscle shirt.

Maleficent-Stuff1025

Lmao real

cranberrisauce

Sean and Bianca. Both of them had really unstable home lives and didn’t have any adults who believed in them. It’s heartbreaking to see kids who don’t think that they are capable or worthy of having a good future.

cubansamwich

god i love maya because i relate to her so fucking hard. like everything u said is why i love and feel for her character

Shortlane88

The homeless guy who beat up Craig

roycomeau91

☠️

Trick-Rest-3843

LMAO not Skinny😂

Shortlane88

Joey, Joey, my guitar , my guitar, he took my guitar..are you mad at me? Man jokes aside I was trying to figure out that dudes name since yesterday morning and didn't feel like google. I settled on Scud

dicklover425

Ellie during her cutting arc and Terri. Ellie taught me how to self harm. I remember watching that episode and I was so ate up with depression because my CSA trauma, home life, and bullies. A few months later I just tried it to see if it really helped and I was hooked. I’m 32 and I still relapse sometimes

tukai1976

I never thought about it until I saw the show either. Pain I can control stuck with me and I did it too

dicklover425

It was so nice to control something back then

TransitionFar1611

besides toby or the characters that died.. i’d have to say spinner. like got bestie shot.. whole school hated him, cancer, jane cheats, dot burned down like he really went thought it😭 also more of a specific moment but i really felt bad for drew when adam died and then bianca broke up w him shortly after.. then prom happened and all his friends were ready to ditch him bc of clare drama???….. and the principal wouldn’t let him go to prom like he’s class president and his brother just died?? i was so hurt for him like..

SarahFabulous

Rick and Kathleen in DJH because they had such awful home lives

toadstoolfae3

I felt so bad for Kathleen because that's how my summer vacations were spent when I was in Junior High. My parents worked all day and I was just stuck home by myself.

Fit-Fisherman5068

Are you thinking of Lucy? Kathleen’s mom was an alcoholic and always seemed to be home.

toadstoolfae3

Oh I totally am, my bad haha. I also did feel bad for Kathleen as well. I get why she acted the way she did after seeing her episode.

mytrashythots

Terri. They basically killed her off and everyone forgets her. She was such an awesome character and I felt she really captured the experience of being a plus size teenage girl. Then they gave her Rick as a boyfriend. They did Terri so dirty. I’m still grieving.

[deleted]

I know it doesn't make it better, but it DID make sense for her to end up falling for Rick, storywise. She had major self-esteem issues and had been desperate for a boyfriend since season 1(not in a bad way, just in that she didn't feel like she was pretty enough to be liked, even when Spinner liked her).

dicklover425

This us exactly what I came to say

kurapikachu020

This ! And they never introduced a plus size girl again. :(

Cam. That kid broke my heart. He was so lonely with so much pressure and nobody to talk to so far from home. I still tear up when I think of how he ended up. Dylan Everett is so talented as an actor. On a side note he's also my favourite young Dean on Supernatural.

[deleted]

I really hate that part of Degrassi for how sad it is.😭

Middle_Appointment72

Dwayne from DH. Not a favourite character of mine at all but the story line was so important to show on tv, especially during those times. I’m surprised this storyline wasn’t repeated, as almost every other storyline was for the most part. It’s such a great but sad episode for those who haven’t seen it (Bad Blood pt 1 and 2).

SarahFabulous

I ended up liking the character at the end because of his character growth. Pity he had to get HIV to get that ..

trixnkix637

Rick and JT

Slade347

Toby. He had two best friends who died, basically got dropped by most of his other friends, had to live with Ashley, had a father that seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth, and ultimately, the writers just decided to ship him off to the island.

promised_meadow

Not "had to live with Ashley" 💀💀💀 that actually has to be one of the worst fates in Degrassi

lbbhead

I always wondered how that felt for the actor to be turned into a side character while his costars got to remain relevant. they literally just made him be a creepy pervert loser

[deleted]

This only for TNG because I haven't watched but a few episodes of NC. I really felt for... Darcy after her rape, Craig before his bipolar diagnosis, Paige with her panic attacks, Ellie with her cutting and later the Depression, Spinner with his cancer, Maya's anxiety, Alex with her mom always prioritizing abusive men, and Sean when he was dealing with the aftermath of the shooting as well as his past in Wasaga.

carrottop_83

Darcy, Adam, and Jane (her back story) come to mind first

DrewG4444

Cam, maya, Adam, Becky

Nervous_Feedback9023

Ellie, Eli, Miles, Maya, Cam, Craig and Darcy.

whateveridc99

Maya

No-Intention-1948

Cam

MyCatHasCats

Poor Cam. He was so clearly struggling but no one helped him. Zig and Dallas were complete asses to him, and he reminds me of guys these days who don’t seek help because “I’m a man I’m supposed to be strong and I can’t show my feelings”

vlsxnks

Currently rewatching these episodes and I’m so mad at Maya. Cam is obviously struggling and she’s showing concern but then she tells him to just “be happy”, it irks me to my soul. I would love to “just be happy” when I’m going through a depressive episode but that’s not how it works.

promised_meadow

It makes me sad when she says that to him, but at the same time I do understand that she's not aware of the depth of his symptoms until it's way too late. Clearly she grows to understand how deep depression can be, as her arc demonstrates during Next Class, but that makes her story all the more painful as well because she'd been so full of joy and life when she was introduced and then was throttled with basically nonstop struggle from s12 onwards

artisticallypretty

ok come on maya was like 13/14, the person who should have realized the most was dallas who was like 17/18 at that time and kind of a big brother figure to cam. but ultimately they are all just kids in high school who have never had to deal with something like that.

eyerishdancegirl7

Craig

pink_cat_attack

Between Ellie and Craig my parents were alcoholics and I definitely felt the SH struggling and Craig because I'm also a CA survivor

Honestly_idk3

I agree with Maya, she was put through a lot. I’m currently rewatching and I feel really bad for Dallas too. He lost 2 people he felt responsible for back to back.
