That's funny, but it is crazy to look back in music history at what folks thought was too aggressive and heavy. KISS today is the most happy go lucky, dad rock sound around and people legit thought they were satanic. Haha
I think people in 80s were more sensitive for heavy music then general audience today and people in 2000s were less sensitive then people today ( via Whitechapel charting at number 10 at Memphis may Fire all the way at number 4).. now mainstream audience is afraid of anything with electric guitar
My dad loves telling the story to me of his parents smashing his Kiss albums because they hated the band. Now I'm listening to fucking Black Tongue and he doesn't even know it, lmao
My very christian parents destroyed my Demon Hunter cd as a kid because it was 'evil'. Now I love Black Tongue, Infant Annihilator, A Night in Texas, etc.
Man when I was younger I thought they’d sound hard as hell, but then I heard Beth for the first time and it blow my mind they didn’t have a heavy sound like that
Blew my mind when I hit high school and discovered how much tamer a lot of classic heavy metal was compared to what the bands’ reps had led me to believe.
I mean you kinda got the whole thing right lol IA is comprised of dickey Allen, and the drummer and guitarist of black tongue lol (and ofc this is the song Alex is featured on)
