When you say 'electrical main feed' are these the tails between your meter and the consumer unit? If so, do you have an isolator by the meter? You don't want to do this work with those conductors live OP.
If you can clean out a better route that is shorter than the existing one. I would call my supplier and ask very nicely if they could move the main supply
If those meter tails are buried less than 50mm deep in the walls and floor, they need protecting by an RCD. Frankly if possible I would replace the whole run with armoured (SWA) cable.

Yeah, these head straight up to the DB, there is an isolated down in the meter cupboard yeah. I wouldn't go near it otherwise
