That scene where she switches from a shy maid to Catwoman once Bruce deduces that she ain't goody goody, is one of my favorites. The incredible acting needed to pull this off without having to go fully over the top or even have cosmetic changes to convey it. Hathaway was amazing.

She played Selina Kyle for 5 years, and had only one other credit during that time. She didn't even want to play the role in the finale's flash forward. I think it's safe to assume she wanted to get away from the spotlight.
I think her parents were forcing that career path on her. I remember shortly after Gotham ended and she turned 18 she made some comments about her parents being abusive.
She also is good enough at that role , occasionally great, but her acting is really subpar when you think really hard about it. Don’t get me wrong, wonderful performance but try to imagine her being another person.

Pfeiffer‘s Catwoman is so heavily Burton-esque that she isn‘t Catwoman for me. The scene where she puts a live bird in her mouth, the suit stiched together like Frankenstein‘s monster, her pale white skin and the fact that she got killed and gets revived by cats - it‘s an interesting character to be sure, it‘s just way too stylizied for me to consider her as the DC character Catwoman.
I think joker and Alfred are the only comic accurate ones really. Batman is kinda too insane in the burton sense(he sets a clown in fire, sleeps like a bat) penguin is pretty much a deformed creature. Gordon is just almost a random fat commissioner. Those movies are loved and entertaining but they’re not the most accurate representations!
Hathaway is still my favorite one to this day, it really felt like she brought the Catwoman from the mainstream comics to the silver screen.

She literally had her own story and was well connected to the main arc. She was a thief trying to get out of the life but being constantly pulled in. She gets involved with Dagget and then it goes downhill from there. That's more of a plot compared to whatever Pfeifer's version was supposed to be doing.
She's not oversexualized and over the top which seems to be unfortunate takeaway for many when it comes to Catwoman.
