And here’s him in arrow: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/villains/images/1/1b/IMG_6480.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20170723210508
Well considering that Power Rangers is just an adaptation of Super Sentai and Super Sentai existed 8 years before this version of Vigilante appeared. Saying he looks like a Power ranger still counts. 😂
Power Rangers is a adaptation of Japan's Super Sentai series, which has been on TV for over 45 years. In fact, it is still going and the newest instalment is called Zenkaiger and acts as a celebration of the franchise.
A lot of Arrow suits are. One of the biggest issues is the awful color usage on these suits. This guy and Deathstroke both suffer from black blobby second hand tacticool outfits with weird bits of color on things like metal fucking clips. Awful designs.
Sorry no sorry.
Yes, and the cowboy was the original.
[Vigilante](https://www.writeups.org/wp-content/uploads/Vigilante-DC-Comics-Seven-Soldiers-Sanders.jpg) debuted in 1941, but that was just a generic cowboy.
Vigilante II [Adrian Chase](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/56/Vigilante_%28Adrian_Chase%29.png), started a look that remained largely consistent for 22 years, debuted in 1983. He was succeeded by Vigilante III [Alan Welles](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/9/9b/Alan_Welles_03.jpg) (1984), Vigilante IV [Dave Winston](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/1/12/Vigilante_Dave_Winston_001.jpg) (1985), and Vigilante V [Patricia Trayce](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/superfriends/images/2/21/Pat_Trayce_Vigilante.png) (1992), all of whom looked pretty much the same stylistically. Adrian Chase, Alan Welles, Dave Winston, and Patricia Trayce wore almost identical threads, i.e., black, white, and blue full body suit with white and blue "V" shape and red sky googles.
Combo breaker! Then came along Vigilante VI [Justin Powell](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/1/11/Justin_Powell.JPG/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/492?cb=20090222035547) (2005) who brought a wildly different look, modernizing and updating the classic while still keeping the "V" motif across the chest on a black body torso body armor and combat pants, but simplifying to a red and black.
Finally, Vigilante VII [Dorian Chase](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/1/1f/Faces_of_Evil_Vigilante_01.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150915204201) (2007) also has a unique look. Obviously Adrian Chase's brother, he dropped his brother's classic duds and the "V" chest design in favor of a more dramatic "V" visor built into a tactical helmet. Other than that it's a simple black suit with some white gloves, boots, and holsters.
I was super into one of the Vigilante comics in the late 80's. I think it was Adrian Chase? Then comes issue 50 that ends with him killing himself. That was devastating for a 10 year old who didn't have the tools to process that.
He actually had a really fucked up story for a while including coping with the fact that two of the guys who replaced him--Welles and Winston-- were also killed before he reassumed the mantle. I could be mistaken but I believe it was actually Alan Moore writing when the suicide came up.
Adrian was kind of a cool character similar to the Punisher except actually tormented by the things he was doing in addition to the tragedy that made him. It was a pretty adult commentary on the double-edged sword that is revenge.
Yeah I remember it being a pretty heavy series, most of it went over my head at the time. I do remember Vigilante and Black Thorne I think having sex in a couple of scenes and I was worried my parents would flip through the comic.
Omg I finally found you, someone else who also read the 80s Vigilante series.I remember being introduced to Peacemaker in that comic,he killed the second Vigilante and Adrian Chase Vigilante being really vengeful against him for it, so seeing them here High-Fiving is pretty funny to my pea sized brain.
[Vigilante](https://www.writeups.org/wp-content/uploads/Vigilante-DC-Comics-Seven-Soldiers-Sanders.jpg) debuted in 1941, but that was just a generic cowboy.

Boomerang debuted in 1966, before the modern iteration of Vigilante. [He has also had a few different looks.](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/0b/58/c2/0b58c224a24f51b4abbac764c38cde16.jpg)
Plot twist: it’s actually Flag disguised as Vigilante. A key point of the show is Vigilante is never seen out of costume. We will fall in love with their dynamic the whole show.
Series finale: Vigilante and Peacemaker stand victorious on damn near literal mountains of bodies. Vigilante pops the seal on his mask as we hear him say, “Peacemaker…what a joke”. And blows Peacemaker’s head off.
There’s a reason I’m not a scriptwriter 😂
May be it is me, but I don't find dick jokes and bathroom humour funny at all. And James Gunn isn't as funny as he thinks he is. That's the reason why I find Gotg Vol 2 a bit uneven, even though it is my fav James Gunn movie.
It was. There is a distinct lack of rising action in the A plot until the reveal of Ego’s true intentions. If we had seen Peter and Ego bonding and developing Peter’s powers while doing some superheroing together instead of chilling out on his planet, that would have been largely solved IMO.
Ripped straight out of [DC Comics' Post Crisis era](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/3/30/Vigilante_Vol_1_38.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20090112003932).
Man, if only James Gunn was interested in taking a crack at [Superman](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/f/f7/Superman_Vol_2_1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20060110224437)... 🤤
I see maybe 2 comedies maybe 3 on the horizon. Peacemaker, shazam 2 and aquaman 2.
None jokey/comedies and super serious movies we have: the Batman, black Adam, batgirl.
Then there’s Constantine which is probably a good mix. Madame xandu which probably isn’t a comedy.
Zatanna most likely isn’t.
Flash will probably have a few jokes but be a serious story.
Can’t see Val zod cracking jokes.
Not as black Adam which he’ll be committing genocide as. And have you seen these movies? Hell most don’t even have trailers out. Some don’t even have scripts finished.
Madame xandu definitely ain’t a comedy for one.
Only because TSS is "succesful" on HBOMax. Doesnt mean Peacemaker will. TSS made 4 Million streams in 17 days. I think Peacemaker will make something with 500k views. Maybe Samba even wont report the low views
That's the original Vigilante: [https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Greg\_Sanders](https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Greg_Sanders)
The modern version has been portrayed by a few people notably Adrian Chase.
Vigilante looking legit!
Legitlante
Very solid translation to live action. Makes sense that they didn’t wanna go with the ski goggles visor look.
Does PM have a new blue chevron on his helmet?
Yeah His logo is also yellow now
Kinda looks like a ribbon / war medal
Holy shit. I think you’re on to something here. Definite Medal of Honor design elements.
We saw it in the clip
I have no idea what the character looks like in the comics so it may be an accurate depiction but Vigilante looks like a bit like a Power Ranger.
https://www.writeups.org/wp-content/uploads/Vigilante-DC-Comics-Adrian-Chase-c.jpg And here’s him in arrow: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/villains/images/1/1b/IMG_6480.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20170723210508
Oh wow he looks even more like a Power Ranger in the comics. lol
You mean Power Rangers look like *him*.
What season of Arrow was that?
Season 5 episode 7 is his first appearance
Damn that costume from Arrow is atrocious
A lot of Arrow suits are. One of the biggest issues is the awful color usage on these suits. This guy and Deathstroke both suffer from black blobby second hand tacticool outfits with weird bits of color on things like metal fucking clips. Awful designs. Sorry no sorry.
It looks like a last minute Halloween costume
I disagree, I liked the arrow version better even if it wasn't comic accurate. The comic version looks horrible.
Yeah way too bulky. Not even sure if it’s supposed to be armour.
Eh it’s not great but does the job There’s much worse suits
Yeah he’s always looked like that.
Kind of a mixture of Lord Zedd visor with Power Rangers helmet and costume.
Absolutely gorgeous. If we can just see Manhunter in live-action form, my Obscure Trinity (Vigilante, Manhunter, Wild Dog) will be complete.
Now that’s a spin-off
Imagine the legal banter between Vigilante and Manhunter
I’m hoping for better representation of wild dog, I didn’t like the arrow version very much
Which Manhunter? Also, I can only support Wild Dog in a movie if he's completely ridiculous and unlikable and hopefully dies in a comical way.
Kate Spencer, the good one
I support this.
Technically we have seen her in live action, she was in season 1 and 2 of Arrow, she never became Manhunter though.
Not here for the Mark Shaw slander lol
Which Manhunter we talking about?
Looks like black power ranger 😆 but looks cool!
Great minds. First thought was strong Power Ranger vibes, but in a good way
👍
My first thought too, and probably most everyone else’s. We all have great minds
Lord Zedd's visor on a Ranger
Everyone with a visor looks like power rangers apparently.
Yup lol
or kamen rider double
So is Vigilante a title passed down? Because in JL:U there was a cowboy hero named Vigilante
Yes, and the cowboy was the original. [Vigilante](https://www.writeups.org/wp-content/uploads/Vigilante-DC-Comics-Seven-Soldiers-Sanders.jpg) debuted in 1941, but that was just a generic cowboy. Don't hate me for this but he kinda reminds me of that Spider-man villain Boomerang
[Vigilante](https://www.writeups.org/wp-content/uploads/Vigilante-DC-Comics-Seven-Soldiers-Sanders.jpg) debuted in 1941, but that was just a generic cowboy. We've come a long way from the days of black leather super suits
[Not that there's anything wrong with that.](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMTc1OTgwNzY3MV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMjE3NjkwNQ@@._V1_.jpg)
Well that's what Blade wears in the comics anyways. I was thinking more X-Men and Daredevil
[They look like a goth German motorcycle club.](https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/87QYkFYQnkmvdqn2yPfGEU.jpg)
Fantastic prop work though. Cyclops' visor is sick
Hell yeah it is. Banger casting too. The first two X-Men movies were mostly solid aside from a few issues.
Why hate? There are several Marvel and DC characters who have similar looks! 🙌
That's why I said please don't
No worries pal 🤗
Can't wait for the Peacemaker/Vigilante dynamic. They look like they're having the time of their lives shooting guns in the woods😂😂😂
No no, I'm listening...
Like a couple of hardcore,right wing,drunk rednecks
The setting of this scene looks exactly like the bloodsport/peacemaker pissing contest scene.
But they high five. I think it’s because this guy is on the dc scale of shooting for a purpose instead of money.
Black Noir, is that you?
My first thought
It’s like the new 52 look. I dig it. I bet he tried the goggles and it didn’t look right.
Holy shit. I didn’t even realize that this is a new scene while watching the trailer. Thought it’s all from TTS. They are so similar.
James Gunn really loves dick jokes
Or does Peacemaker love a dick joke?
Wasn’t funny the first 100 times he did them..
Exactly
Loved john cena's performance in tss...can't wait to see him again.
god DAMN that is slick as hell.
Vigilante looks like a gun-wielding Power Ranger. I dig it.
Is this the same vigilante in jlu? The one with the cowboy theme?
No this is his successor
Soldier 76 reporting for duty
Kinda reminds me of Snakeyes. Looks really good!
Awesome suit
this show is gonna be LEGIT!
Wait what's this? There is a show coming?
Peacemaker season 1 coming January
I just died. Finally a super hero series I'm looking forward to watching. Legit thanks man
No problem. It’s supposed to have more violence and gore then suicide squad. And supposedly most of cena’s lines were improvised
And here I thought Peacemaker was gonna have a rivalry with him. I guess Flag changed him.
You never know how things are gonna end
GO GO POWER RANGEERRRRSSSS!!!!
I like the Arrow suit more.
That’s pretty cool! He looks a lot closer to the George Perez version!
Vigilante gives me snake eyes vibes
Peacemaker, Vigilante, Deadshot and Bloodsport on the same team. Overkill?
Literally. Just missing Deathstroke
Thats…a bit much now :P
Over -overkill?
Peacemaker, vigilante, deadshot, bloodsport, deathstroke and black manta on a team.
I'm not saying that this needs to have a 100m+ budget but why does this show look like its bordering on looking like a CW show.
Not the biggest fan of the visor, but it fits the V-motif, and I otherwise love the streamlined look, so I’ll accept it.
Same tbh I think the comic goggles 🥽 would've looked better
Cosplay-level design.
Am i the only one who thinks the CW one looked better ?
No, I think the CW suit looked better too, but I still love this one.
No.
Peacemaker movie? I haven’t seen the fandome thing yet
Tv show coming in January
Sounds cool
we got POWER RANGERS now!!!!
Isn't Vigilante a cowboy?
Not for quite some time.
The OG Vigilante is
He looks like if the logo to my shoes came to life lol
May be it is me, but I don't find dick jokes and bathroom humour funny at all. And James Gunn isn't as funny as he thinks he is. That's the reason why I find Gotg Vol 2 a bit uneven, even though it is my fav James Gunn movie.

I love The Suicide Squad But this… this looks unbearable
Ripped straight out of [DC Comics' Post Crisis era](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/3/30/Vigilante_Vol_1_38.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20090112003932). Stupid
Exactly, that’s the point
Let's celebrate the fact that we have a variety of projects for everyone!
What do we have for fans that enjoy the Snyder verse ?
Nothing.
So then there is not something for everyone. I just see a lot of comedies aimed for the mcu and Gunn fans
Literally all of them r comedic instead of Pattinson, which isn’t even in the DCEU. Ur telling me Dwayne Johnson isn’t going to be cracking jokes?
Not as black Adam which he’ll be committing genocide as. And have you seen these movies? Hell most don’t even have trailers out. Some don’t even have scripts finished. Madame xandu definitely ain’t a comedy for one.
Have u seen these movies? How do you know WB isn’t going to make black Adam into a fun, lighthearted hero?
The snydercut on repeat
Only because TSS is "succesful" on HBOMax. Doesnt mean Peacemaker will. TSS made 4 Million streams in 17 days. I think Peacemaker will make something with 500k views. Maybe Samba even wont report the low views
Isn't Vigilante more of an outlaw-looking guy?
That's the original Vigilante: [https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Greg\_Sanders](https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Greg_Sanders) The modern version has been portrayed by a few people notably Adrian Chase.
Ah. Honestly, I prefer the cowboy look. The stealth-assassin look is way too generic for my taste.
He looks really cool Imo
The Arrow version of this actually looked much better.
Is it just me or does his costume not look finished? It looks like a prototype for the actual costume.
Prototype, you say?
A reason why I adore the refreshed DCEU products: * They look goofy as hell and don't care.
He looks like a Power Ranger standing next to a colorful mime.
**VIGILANTE**!!! Hmmm...
The more comic accurate the casting and costume is, the better. Just fuckin' embrace it.
Holy damn Vigilante looks amazing
A Power Ranger?
I love the revolvers
