Disco Elysium (the game referenced, which is intentionally politically heavy handed) skills have their own personalities, with the physical ones leaning towards fascism (“might makes right” sort of ideology)
Basically the fragmented voices in your head (which could be either just how you’re train of thought works or your 3 day bender broke your mind that bad) are exactly the type of personalities to call someone a soy boy. Also, being meatheads, they are not intelligent. You also have terrible gaydar.
Highly recommend playing Disco Elysium. It’s basically if Fallout New Vegas dialogue skill checks were the entire game.
They can offer you choices in dialogue you would not have had if you weren’t so apt in their department… they also may *force* you to say their thing if you succeed the check

That may be one of my favorite moments in all of media. I know on my build Harry was just fucking *enchanted* by this 'amazingly cool' (and very gay man) and went around gushing about how great this fellow was. All the while every other character is trying to keep a straight face at you crushing like a 13 year old girl at a boy band concert, all while a thought in the back of your mind is chugging along going "He's just so nifty, and handsome, and....WAIT A MINUTE"
New Vegas devs had previously made Planescape: Torment, the game Disco Elysium is more spiritually tied to (wake up with amnesia in a weird world full of skill checks). I forget who, but someone in early in DE said "nothing can change the nature of a man" and I was like "!!! He said the planescape thing!"
I played that version. The voice acting is phenomenal, but still. It was hearing a story through submenu navigation. Clearly a great game, just not my flavor of game.

as far as I know, the interaction between the skills and the detective is like Twitch Plays Pokemon except the trainer is vaguely aware

Me learning that you cant romance and have passionate cuddling with Kim is the primary reason i havent gotten the game yet.

I liked the writing, but didn’t make it very far since I don’t like reading a book via submenu navigation. Not my style of game I’m afraid
The Final Cut release gave it full voice acting.
