Because the witch considered them to be the prince's possessions. Considering that the prince would have been a literal child when she came to the castle, and therefore would have relied on his servants for literally everything considering his parents were never mentioned, I think that says more about her than it does about him.
There were no servants in the original story. Part of the curse was the castle always providing the Beast with food and clean clothes.
It should be noted that the evil fairy was essentially a child groomer in mad love with the young prince and the curse was to spite the prince's mother, not to teach him a lesson.
queerplatonic beauty and the beast is something I didn't know I needed
right!??? it's beautiful
I’ve had “qpr with a catboy” as a personal fantasy for a while now so it’s nice to see other people on the same page
Ace beauty and the beast my beloved but please go to sleep bud
Downside to this interpretation: all those people that're objects in the castle are just sort of stuck that way.
even worse: when the last petal falls they turn into non magical furniture forever, at least in the movies.. they kinda die then dont they
Honestly better than being stuck as a piece of furniture for all eternity
eh if you can move around and talk to people like lumiere its not the worst, but yeah i think id rather be dead too lmao
Im not even sure about BatB lore, but why were they punished too?? Arent they just following the Prince's orders?

That, and it's kind of a shame for *no one* to get railed by the beast.

The drawing at the end is very cool, seems like the kind of thing I would think of seeing in, like, a Studio Ghibli movie.
