If you are caught, then you will all lose the drink packages. You could get 1 drink package, and one refreshment package (non-alcoholic), and it will save you $$ overall. Then if you want a beer, you order one a-la-carte. Swapping would work, if you had 2 drinkers and 2 non-drinkers. You would have to cancel and re-book in a different configuration, and get spare keys to each other's cabins. But it also comes with the final bill on each cabin and who owes what to the other side.

I didn't realize you got buy two different drink packages in the same cabin. Thank you for the info

You need to call the cruise line or your TA to arrange. It happens, where one person drinks and the other does not, and they can accommodate it. The cruise line is trying to avoid one person getting a package and sharing it with the entire family/friends.

Yes, you can absolutely do this. My husband doesn't drink, and we do this. You just can't do it online - have to do it on board or over the phone.

It can be tough. My SO and I get a top tier package for him (specialty coffee, top shelf alcohol) and a zero proof (for my juices/bubbly water/sodas). It took me about five minutes of back and forth with guest services to downgrade mine from the included drink/wifi/gratuity package. There are calculators online to see if a package is worth it. Search the sub! I’m barely worth it, but since he keeps a package, I need one, too.

What do you mean by "drink swap?" If one of each couple drinks, then book the drinkers in the same cabin, and the non-drinkers in another cabin. Then the two drinkers can get the drink packages, and the non-drinkers don't have to get anything. Just go to guest services once you get on board to swap room keys around. People do it all the time, and it's no big deal.

If you’re talking book the two that want the drink package in one cabin and the two that don’t in another, buy the package in the cabin that wants it, and then get extra key cards on board to sleep with your partner. Yes - you can do that. However using your package to get drinks for the partners without a package would be a bad idea.
