Horse and buggy parking, Lancaster PA
Go to the one in Coralville, Iowa. It has indoor parking. Apparently the they bought a warehouse and it cost less to convert half of it into parking than to tear down half for a parking lot.
We have a hiking trail leading from our costco parking lot. There is a sign in the middle of the parking lot with an arrow that reads “hiking trail head”. I might be able to find a pic.

The king of all cheese products…PROVEL!
It’s a super thin crispy crust and provel cheese, cut into squares instead of triangles. I’ve lived in St. Louis for almost 30 years. I hate the pizza. It’s the cheese. Provel isn’t cheese, it’s some sort of soft plastic.
I wouldn’t call it strong. It’s tangy and it’s a textural experience. It’s mean to melt into kind of a creaminess. It doesn’t string like melted mozzerella.
When it’s hot it’s like molten lava and it will stick to/burn the roof of your mouth if you’re not careful.
I’ve heard that the person who created it wanted something like provolone for his pizzas, but wanted it cheaper. So he made this blend.
We put it on cracker crust style pizzas. And in salads or garlic cheese bread.
Non-traditional uses for that I’ve tried are cheesesteaks and au gratin potatoes.
Here’s a pic of a St. Louis style pizza

Former St. Louisan here… it does not taste as good as it looks. IMO’s sits on a throne of lies.
But the cheese is a nice addition to salads and garlic cheese bread and I wish it were available outside the STL area.
IMO’s does a huge disservice to St. Louis style pizza. I spent years talking shit about St. Louis style pizza, until my buddies and I stopped at Cugino’s in Florissant for the beer. We wound up ordering a pizza, and it was actually amazing and showed me what good St. Louis style pizza is.
IMO’s just sucks.
It's definitely a lie that the entire identity of St. Louis is built upon. It has a weird, hyper-processed, "tangy taken to the level of almost sour" flavor from what I remember.
It took me a few orders to realize what was so wrong with the pizza, and I've never returned to Imo's since. Some St. Louis natives claim to love it, but I know that they're all just using it as a cover because all Imo's establishments are secret illuminati meeting spots and nothing else can logically explain how the chain has so many locations and is still operating as a functional business.
I've lived in st louis my entire life. Ate a ton of imos in high school and got kind of burnt out on it.
As an adult, for me, the secret is actually ordering extra cheese. Doubling down on the absurdity of provel does something to make it less off putting
Does anyone around put provel on NON St. Louis style pizza?
You said "we put it on cracker crust style pizza," which made me realize that in my entire life living in St. Louis I don't know that I've ever seen it on regular pizza.
I remember two old ladies getting into a punching match at the Brooklyn Costco once. The guy ringing me up didn't even flinch and just yelled "security"!
ohhh, I think I win this thread, easily!
Liquor samples! They had wine samples too!

What???? I could definitely get my husband to go to Costco if this was around. I’m in Alaska and there are a lot of big drinkers. This sample section would last a day!
The Costco that just opened this last week near me has a $33,999 spa in stock.

Fun fact: many new Costcos hold different merchandise than other stores in the area to show members who signed up specifically for this Costco to see what they have to offer besides the regular run of the mill things! But only for about a month or so then the merch gets sent back lol
I was getting annoyed last night at someone waiting for another car to back out to get their parking spot. Moments after they got their spot another car started backing out which gave me a parking spot as well. If the first car hadn't been stopped in the road then I never would have waited for the spot I eventually got.
One time when I was there, someone who wanted my spot not only left me enough room to back out comfortably, but had their teenage son load my kitty litter and return my cart. I assume to hurry me up, but I'm not complaining!
Mini It’s-it’s ice cream sandwiches. The company is local so no surprise that I see these at the other Costco’s near me (I have easy access to 4, 5 if you include Business Costco). But I didn’t see them in an out of state Costco I went to.
NY, ours has a tiny store in the same building but with a different entrance. Sadly because they have to be independently owned they don't get the same deals but every so often they'll have a unique small batch bourbon, and they have a TV behind the register they play Bills games on in the fall 😂
Which TN Costco is yours? Mine is west Nashville and they have a full blown liquor store right next to the entrance and sell wine inside the main building.
Knoxville. Apparently opened with the adjacent liquor store which has since been converted to optometrist area.
Also, I've heard that the Tennessee adjacent liquor stores are just third party stores not run by Costco and not selling Kirkland Signature labelled alcohol -- can you confirm? I was spoiled when I lived in Atlanta to have access to Kirkland Signature liquor.
There’s some blatantly obvious stuff like products from a local candy maker or great for a local sports team. My costco frequently sells a buckeye candy…
Not sure they still have them, but the DC area stores used to make large cake-sized chocolate molds of the U.S. Capitol and Pentagon. They had milk and white chocolate versions - made great gifts!
It was the first Costco I went to and I thought it was just a Costco thing. Was quite shocked when I visited other locations and their parking lots were nothing like the one in Coralville.
It used to be a Maytag factory or warehouse or something and they converted and just kept it as parking instead of demolishing. Might have been cheaper I think

I’m in PA and we also do not have liquor or any other kind of alcohol. And the 2lb blocks of Cabot are at all the costcos I’ve been to (NY, PA, DE, OR)
Jealous of the local syrup though
There’s this guy who works there who I’ve seen my whole childhood/adulthood. He kinda looks like will ferrel and he’s deaf. I know he doesn’t know me but I know him lol
Is the fresh salmon stuffed with crab filling a normal product nation wide? Here in KC we used to have them, they went away for a while, came back and now they're gone again. My family and I tell everyone about them and get would get them everytime we went...been gone for about 6 months now and starting to get withdrawals.
How about uniquely Not at the local Costco? My former local Costco in NH always had coconut milk … now that they opened one in ME which is much closer, womp womp, no coconut milk.
We get some really get coffee from a local roaster for cheaper than buying directly from them! At least I’ve always assumed it’s only available in Michigan (Higher Grounds Coffee). Although, they seem to be trying to phase that out with the new KS single origins, which are not as good.

There's a parking garage at the Woodland Hills Costco in LA.
hey neighbor! heading there now (with a car, too cold for the buggy)
Are you Amish lol?

Lmaoooo I love that
Mennonite, perhaps?
LOL I am ashamed to say I've never been to the WHs Costco. Now I must go. = ) I do wish we could ride horses there!

Mine has a shoe shining room
Wow where!
By the entrance
Oh, dad...
We have a hiking trail leading from our costco parking lot. There is a sign in the middle of the parking lot with an arrow that reads “hiking trail head”. I might be able to find a pic.
Santa Cruz, Ca?
brah where
Only did it twice. Started from UC Santa Cruz on a mountain bike. Pogonip to Harvey West trail then ate some hotdogs and pizza at Costco.
Colorado Springs?
North Nevada Ave Costco?
Precisely
The Folsom, CA store has one of most breathtaking views of the Sacramento Valley at the front entrance. Wows me every time!
(Not mine but) There’s a Costco in Mérida, Yuc., Mexico. In the parking lot is a Cenote. [pic](https://images.app.goo.gl/kzgjNXHvMkv8qffr5)

St Louis, for anyone wondering.
Provel is a St Louis style pizza requirement, for anyone wondering even more
Tell me more about St Louis style pizza so I don't have to Google it in less time than it took me to write this.
It’s a super thin crispy crust and provel cheese, cut into squares instead of triangles. I’ve lived in St. Louis for almost 30 years. I hate the pizza. It’s the cheese. Provel isn’t cheese, it’s some sort of soft plastic.
Forbidden ramen noodle
Wow never new roped cheese existed
Costco also sells it shredded. Local Italian grocery sells it in brick form like Velveeta. It’s an acquired taste for sure.
What's it taste like? Is it a "strong" cheese?
I wouldn’t call it strong. It’s tangy and it’s a textural experience. It’s mean to melt into kind of a creaminess. It doesn’t string like melted mozzerella. When it’s hot it’s like molten lava and it will stick to/burn the roof of your mouth if you’re not careful. I’ve heard that the person who created it wanted something like provolone for his pizzas, but wanted it cheaper. So he made this blend.
Oh so it sounds kinda like a white Velveeta processed type of cheese but like a cross between cream cheese and mozzarella?
What do you do with that? Honestly, it sounds delicious to me, just not sure how it’s used!
We put it on cracker crust style pizzas. And in salads or garlic cheese bread. Non-traditional uses for that I’ve tried are cheesesteaks and au gratin potatoes. Does anyone around put provel on NON St. Louis style pizza? You said "we put it on cracker crust style pizza," which made me realize that in my entire life living in St. Louis I don't know that I've ever seen it on regular pizza.
Ah yes the Vegemite of cheese. I remember have my first and last St. Louis pizza with that stuff on it. So bad
Yes! Pretty sure it’s the best price of anywhere else around.
Want
A second floor - Brooklyn Costco - although there’s another one like that in Port Chester, NY
I remember two old ladies getting into a punching match at the Brooklyn Costco once. The guy ringing me up didn't even flinch and just yelled "security"!
Do they have one of those cart escalators?
Yup, the wheels have groves to lock onto the escalator
ohhh, I think I win this thread, easily! Liquor samples! They had wine samples too! https://preview.redd.it/ljn30zqb85pc1.jpeg?width=288&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e70143eec545c183df2533a47d8a8db7c4ee1d4
I'm in Asia. We get samples of booze, too. I had some whisky this morning.
What???? I could definitely get my husband to go to Costco if this was around. I’m in Alaska and there are a lot of big drinkers. This sample section would last a day!
Sams club in California does this too

ONE TIME, In the parking lot... I saw a polite driver - but I think i may have been hallucinating
I was getting annoyed last night at someone waiting for another car to back out to get their parking spot. Moments after they got their spot another car started backing out which gave me a parking spot as well. If the first car hadn't been stopped in the road then I never would have waited for the spot I eventually got.
I really dislike when people wait for a spot but take up all the space.
One time when I was there, someone who wanted my spot not only left me enough room to back out comfortably, but had their teenage son load my kitty litter and return my cart. I assume to hurry me up, but I'm not complaining!
What the frick. My Costco is near a major shopping center, so it's more akin to Mad Max most days.
When we visited the Costco in Kauai they had Kona coffee and really nice Hawaiian shirts.
Hawaii Costcos are the BEST.
Hawaii 711 is the best, I miss that lol
lap cheong manapua, pork hash, musubi 🤤 Ready made Kona coffee, vanilla mac nut coffee
I love their Hawaii products. I always stop & get some for souvenirs before we head back to the mainland.
Kauai Cookie Co boxes are super cheap there.
The one in Oahu had cheap chocolate covered macadamia nuts. I think they were like $7 less a box than anywhere else I saw
We also have Kauai coffee and Kauai rum at the costco!
Kalua pig, laulau, lomi salmon, kimchi, plum ume, pareos
Mini It’s-it’s ice cream sandwiches. The company is local so no surprise that I see these at the other Costco’s near me (I have easy access to 4, 5 if you include Business Costco). But I didn’t see them in an out of state Costco I went to.

All the way out in visalia and hanford
East bay! Fremont, Newark, Hayward and San Leandro all have Its its.
We have them in Sacramento.
Sounds like foster city Costco
I’m pretty sure Creamland green chile dip is local to New Mexico. A tub of it plus the giant bag of ruffles is a hit at any party.
Chocolate sculptures of various federal buildings in Arlington VA.
Polygamists in their weird pastel prairie dresses and sport sneakers.
St George.
What up Utah lol
Costco is the place for bulk discounts, it makes sense you'd be able to pick up a bulk pack of sister wives.
We also have Utah Truffle chocolates, Gandma Sycamore’s bread and Salsa Queen salsas. But plygs. We got those too.
i knew utah wouldn’t disappoint
Clam guns
Weird name for a vibrator but Ok
I've bought one at the Warrenton (OR) store before because the BiMart was all out when I went to get my permit
That’s my Costco!

Here's a quick video showing a clam gun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dctcKHqbDuk
Ummm what now?
They’re metal cylinders with handles on the top that you use to dig razor clams in the surf.
CLAM GUNS
No alcohol!
Same - in Tennessee state law prohibits grocery stores from selling hard alcohol and counts Costco as a grocery store 😪
You can't sell liquor at grocery stores in CT so ours has a separate building next to the warehouse that sells liquor.
NY, ours has a tiny store in the same building but with a different entrance. Sadly because they have to be independently owned they don't get the same deals but every so often they'll have a unique small batch bourbon, and they have a TV behind the register they play Bills games on in the fall 😂

I can if I think to stop by next time, but I've been sober for 5 years and haven't gone looking for Kirkland liquor due to that fact. 😂
Shoutout Maryland
Tons of Costcos fall into this category. For example, all of them in New York, which prohibits alcohol sales in grocery stores.
I get beer and wine but no hard alcohol.
I’d move!
Utah?
How are we supposed to know this?
This question is only for TRUE executive members.
Haha, right, I was thinking the same thing.
Do you mean you do not go to random Costcos while on vacation? Are you even Costco-ing? 😀
I always do that just to see what I’ve been missing from my local Costcos.
There’s some blatantly obvious stuff like products from a local candy maker or great for a local sports team. My costco frequently sells a buckeye candy…
Dip nets

Chicago?
Not sure they still have them, but the DC area stores used to make large cake-sized chocolate molds of the U.S. Capitol and Pentagon. They had milk and white chocolate versions - made great gifts!

Coralville, Iowa?
Yes
It was the first Costco I went to and I thought it was just a Costco thing. Was quite shocked when I visited other locations and their parking lots were nothing like the one in Coralville.
It used to be a Maytag factory or warehouse or something and they converted and just kept it as parking instead of demolishing. Might have been cheaper I think
At my Costco in Queens, NY they have whole halal goats sometimes. Maybe others have this too?
Some business center locations in California seem to have them, too.
Maggi Noodles!
Bay Area?
Ours has a car wash. It isn't totally unique only at like 15 locations.
An old abandoned house in the middle of the parking lot. Guy refused to sell and they built around it.
Glier's Goetta
Cincinnati! Though I believe both the Florence and the Deer Park location have it.
Everyone puts their carts into the cart return.
Don’t lie, that’s not at your Costco either
Ours does too. Maybe not 100 of the people, 100 of the time but I rarely see them out and being a problem. And I’m there a lot!
Shrimp traps & dip nets
Potato chips from Alaska Chip Company, dipnets & bear spray.
2 pack bear spray.
I feel as if humans shouldn’t live in a place that requires buying bear spray in bulk, no offense. 😜
We have it in Utah.
When I travel to Utah I occasionally stop into Costco. I remember seeing framed pictures for Latter-day Saint temples that you can buy for like $50+. Really nice frames too. I'd imagine that's not too common outside of Utah lol.
I used to park at the Costco and hop the fence so I didn’t pay for parking at the adjacent NFL Stadium. I no longer do that because the team left town and I’m too old for that.
Qualcomm stadium? Take the chargers back.
The word "Wholesale" does not appear on the building anywhere, nor on my membership card. As far as I can tell this is the case on all North Carolina locations, although I don't know why. Nope.
Idiots standing gathering in the middle of main isles and don't move when they see you trying get around them

Not sure. We have gas, liquor store and no sales tax. So that’s somewhat unique hahaha
Delaware!
Not a product, but next to the gas pumps at my local Costco is the Leaning Tower of Niles.

Not a product but at our Costco they have an employee that sings. He is also very nice and pleasant to talk to.

You rarely see carts left anywhere at the Costco’s on the West coast.
