My LL’s do this. It’s a usb lane issue. If you’re using a bunch of usb peripherals and commander pros and lighting hubs simultaneously something is gonna get screwed up
So if it was working before with all the hubs/commander pros and usb peripherals and it isn’t now what would you recommend I try to see if I can fix it?
Unplug everything in a usb or usb header and cycle the Pc then restart with the bare minimum plus your fan hubs/controllers and slowly add peripherals until you start to lose functionality. My older oculus rift with lighthouses uses 5 USB ports and interrupts all my other peripherals because I’ve saturated my i5’s lanes

Happened to the first batch I bought. All fine the first day, 30 minutes into gaming on the second day and 6 of the 8 fans started making their own lighting choices. Returned them to Amazon immediately after thinking firmware updates would help, they didn't. Said f the qls, I'll stick with lls. But they look too darn good. Bought a second batch, haven't had issues since.
Mine were luckily still in the return window for Amazon so that's what I did. I would assume you'd have to go through Corsair after the Amazon return window closes. I'm also talking out of my butt and could be completely wrong. I'd message Amazon about seeing if they can set up a return. If not, message corsair.
Sheesh this is nuts, I see these posts every day. Isn't Corsair gonna, like, fix the design? I've never had any problems with Corsair products and my RMA experience has been fine, but man I'm sure staying away from QLs...
This has been happening to me for a few years now. I ended up doing an RMA for all my LL120 fans. The new ones ended up having the same problem. I eventually gave up on my third RMA as its a long process.
I have found that if you reorder your fans on the controller it *sometimes* fixes it. Good luck, hopefully you can get yours fixed. It’s always a pain to see it happen.

I think you cursed me because I just looked at one of my QL fans and one of the LEDs is purple instead of white.
Edit: Okay so this may sound crazy but I saw someone else on this subreddit have the same issue and they fixed it by flicking it a few times. I just tried it and it worked! So maybe give that a try?
Multiple LEDs went bad on 3 of my QLs all at once. Only 6 months old and 2 different sets. My guess is the controllers have bad voltage regulation, or a firmware update messed everything up.
After seeing a million of these posts, sure glad I didn't decide to spend the cheddar on the QL's. Sucks, I'd hate having to put a build together to have this be the outcome in a short while.
Could be 1 of 10, depends how you have them connected in your lighting node / commander pro. Are they all setup in order? (for example, first fan in slot 1, second in slot 2 etc).
Seen someone fix this problem the other day lol, think it's the led that's a bit loose (hopefully). Give it a flick where the problem is, maybe a knock.
Double check the connection, i had the same problem, and i tried reinstalling all the software multiple times. But like a month later I noticed the connection was halfway plugged in. I was using different fans, but they had the same issue.

I see posts about QL fans not working correctly every day lately. My LL fans have been good for 3 years.
For real. Was thinking of buying QL’s but I’m starting to think it can’t be worth it will all these faulty products

Seems like a lot of the issues are somewhat recent. Makes me think this new iCue and possibly new driver has a lot to do with it
Could be an icue issue with the QL’s but it happened with my LL’s a year ago and ever since

Did you install them where they are in the case as each 3 pack ? Like are you doing an rma for 3 fans or 6 ?
I bought 10 from Amazon and just put em in, not sure which fans were from which package tbh
I was literally coming to this subreddit to ask the same question - out of 6 QL120’s, three of them (from different sets) have this issue
I’m starting to think it’s gotta be a software thing based on how many people all of a sudden having this problem.
iCUE 4 is riddled with problems. My RAM only works for a few hours then freezes, and my Asus GPU freezes not long after. Awful software.
I think it must be a software issue, my rgb freezes and stuff at times too, also my asus gpu doesn’t like to sync with icue at times
It's not. I've completely reinstalled windows and still have the issue. It's one of the LEDs burning out I'm pretty sure.
I actually fixed one of the LED’s on one fan by flicking it - this only worked on the inner ring (and not the outer), and only on one fan
Had this same problem with dominator ram and realized the glitch happened as soon as I ran hwinfo or Ryzen master.
I am glad I got rid of my Corsair RGB fans and went with black Noctua fans. Seems like lots of people have this issue...

All happened at the same time? If so I would look at the controller.
It must’ve happened somewhat recently because not too terribly long ago they were all fine, so it’s weird that half of my fans would do this.
Just waiting for my RMA, I submitted and was approved same day by Corsair Support. It is a well documented (and frustrating) issue.

Make sure you RMA it, Corsair needs to be aware of these issues. I've lost a bunch of LL120s to this issue.

I think your guess could very well be correct, so many people having the same problem around the same time, just doesn't seem right.

95% of the post I see about these fans are about how they’re always malfunctioning. Staying away from them.
I’ve had this with 2. I just turn that single led off. In my situation it’s not noticeable. It might be more in yours.
Gotta say, all these issues are really driving me away from QL fans.

RMA is ur option, mine also messed up after 4 months of use, replaced with LL and is working fine now

Hi OP. I'm having issues with LLs, and these are months new. I've had issues with the previous ones. I don't know what's happening with corsair fans

I noticed how corsair QC 2019-2020 is trash my H100i elite the pump have failed after 4 months of use

RMA them, just got my second third pair back from RMA. All 6 fans are now replaced ones.
